The Most Clever Thing You Saw in a Battle Today

Tanki is full of stupid people however there are still some good players.

Post here to share the most clever thing you saw in a battle today. It could be about something you did or another player did, it just has to be smart.

In RGB mode on Serpuhov I had the ball and was coming up to the enemy base. Enemy players blocked me and I was about to die, but I saw my teammate coming around from behind the houses, so I passed the ball to him in perfect trajectory and he scored the goal. Probably one of my best ever plays and the only time I used the pass mechanic to get a tactical advantage. Even the enemies complimented me for that move :D

Now days the most clever thing in battles is people sharing OD, not much else, most clever thing I've ever seen period was back when ASL was for the New Year's celebration only and the whole blue team actually worked together, Mines, isidas, Heavies the whole 9 yards to stop red from Capping, or the one time I got a pretty good trickshot in old Sandbox ( ) CTF on the enemy runner off the upper ledge

usually i pretend to agree to team with others in DM and use it as a chance to steal their kills and use them as my meatshield... and then right when they're about to get a bunch of easy kills I kill them and take the kills for myself... then i apologise I did it by accident and repeat later on.

I was in a massacre rugby on my KillerDiesel account, I was using rail and dictator, an enemy Viking twins with the ball was proceeding to cap it in our base, so I decided to push him to keep him at bay. It had potential, unfortunately it was a wasted moment because nobody else in our team was around in our base. So I died, and the Viking twins ended scoring the goal anyway.

This didn't happen today, but I think it deserves to be said. In a Bridges RGB battle, this Firebird + Hunter and I were making really good plays. It started when at a point in time in the battle, I found him with the ball and started healing him. He soon got out of my range but what he did next was simple yet spectacular. 2 enemies were blocking his way at the top of the smaller bridge. He accelerated to maximum speed, threw the ball into the air, drove over the two tanks and collected the ball immediately after it touched the ground and scored.

The 2nd thing that happened was he was going to score but two defending titans were blocking his way. As he approached them, they started to come foward towards slowly and reluctantly. I was about to come up from behind them and distract them but then when the Titans were far away enough, he drove off the bridge slowly. When he was about to fall totally, he threw the ball into the air towards me which flew behind the two titans and I took it and scored :D.

The last one was where I had the ball and was going to score but then I saw the same guy slowly hesitantly following the defending titans, instead of driving to the capture point I drove away from it. Like the "programmed defenders" they are, they followed me, only it was a mistake for them because when they were far enough, I threw it to the guy while he was sitting on the goal and he scored.

We need more clever and tactical players like these in Matchmaking battles. I know they are out there somewhere. While their numbers may be small, they are truly a blessing to have on your team.

When the enemy gets the Rugby ball within a few feet of the scoring point but temporarily lose it, in some map you can toss it over the edge of the map so it respawn back in the middle. Clever.

In highways Cp, it's a good idea to equip striker. You can camp on the highest ledge in your teams base and throw them salvos at enemies that try to take control of the bridge points.

Good way to help your team and get a good KD in the battle. Win win deal.

Recommended equipment include: any hull heavier than Viking, railgun protection and a shaft protection wouldn't hurt either.

In RGB mode many tactical things can be played , most people just run with the ball instead of passing . Also , like somebody said , when enemy near flagpoint and lose ball , you just pass it outside so new spawn is given .

Also , Many people do not know how to block properly . Most of the times this is very effective in CTF . While in near all cases it does cost you your life , you give others a few extra seconds to kill him . Did more then a few epic blocks before in Noise . Even had a friend said to me that he learned from me how to block and use this technique also .

This happened about a month ago.

Silence CTF red. Another teammate and I partnered up together. I had Vulcan/Titan with the incendiary alt and he had Freeze/Wasp. We were doing pretty good together. He would do a run by freeze and I killed them. We had made a few attempts to grab the blue flag unsuccessfully. A Railgun/Mammoth and Twins/Titan were guarding the flag and the rest of blue was on the lower blue landing.

I saw my teammate go through the tunnel and I went up the long narrow ramp. I couldn't see my teammate, so I had to do this by gut feeling. I knew he had to sneak onto the lower blue landing without being detected. Impossible, I thought.

What happened next was unbelievably executed with perfect timing and a lot of luck.

I got up on the small landing with DD activated and started firing. I was taking some heavy damage, but I had OD ready in case I needed it. The Wasp had DA and SB activated. He came up the inside ramp, went airborne and somehow managed to get some freeze on the two guards. Landed on top of the Titan and dropped a mine on top of him, at the same time, grabbed the flag and made the long leap of faith. He seemed to have done all that in a split second (or so it seemed). My health was low and all my resources used up. I backed down the ramp and saw my teammate had landed upside down. But I blew up from my own afterburn. A Twins/Viking teammate happened to be in the area. The Wasp dropped the flag, the Viking took it, loaded a SB and made the cap.

This was one of those plays made in heaven. My teammate didn't speak English and I didn't speak Russian, but somehow we seemed to be on the same mental wavelength. That's one play I'll remember for a long, long time.

Teaming in DM only makes sense when both of you are skilled and have protection modules against each other's turrets. In that case it's a waste of time to fight each other, so indeed it becomes more efficient to not actively team, but truce and ignore each other to be more efficient at getting kills.

But teaming just because you have the same turrets and trying to actively stay together and 2v1 other player almost always backfires and makes you less effective.

The problem is that the pass has absolutely pathetic power. You can hardly even throw it up onto a cliff and it barely goes over one tank. If the pass mechanic actually allowed you to control the power of the pass or at the very least would be more powerful, then it would be a lot more useful.

In passing, the best you can hope for is, after passing, the ball rolls and your teammate is paying attention.

i think it's common sense tp throw the ball away right before you get killed by close range enemies... so they'll have to take the extra time to pick it up. somehow almost no one seems to do this. ever since i started using firebird, every single time i kill someone with the ball i can just pick it up from where he exploded

Oh yeah, right. That's the only other use of the pass. If you kill an enemy right next to your goal and more enemies are coming, pick up the ball and throw it as far away as possible. Preferably off a cliff.

If I kill the ball carrier, I'll grab the ball. If there is no one on my team to pass too, absolutely, carry it as far as possible then throw it away. If you're lucky, someone from your team comes out from behind a building or a wall and grabs it.

my teammate railgun was on its side. an enemy railgun was about to shoot him, my teammate shot the ground and used the recoil to get back on his tracks right when the enemy shot. the shot went right under my teammate, who landed and then killed him

The most clever thing I saw was someone using M0 Shaft and M0 Titan in a legend battle.

That guy knows playing MM is as painful as giving birth so he just came to chill out and have a good time.

Or in an inescapable pit.

This may not be relevant with battles but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

I'm trying this method that revolves around the missions.

I've been doing about 2 missions each on 3 accounts, and if I complete 2 missions each day, then on the fifth day I will claim the 10 mission weekly. And take a break from tanki for the remaining of the time till it comes back.

Do the same for the next week where you can get the 10 and 20 mission weekly's.

I saw nothing today since I played 0 battles.

But so far the most clever thing I saw last week was in RGB when enemies came to our base with the ball, then they die, I picked up the ball, and since there were 4 enemies coming, I decided to destruct the ball.

I never understand why NOBODY destruct the ball in situations like that, especially in a map like Polygon where it's easy to destruct the ball.

No, they try to escape the base with the ball. Of course they die > easy cap for enemy team.

Somebody used the main ramp's edge in Serphov, going up a bit and over a Titan-Isida (who was blocking the ramp while healing a Viking with Magnum) while spinning his Railgun and hitting the Titan, then went on to capture the flag. It was the most dramatic thing I saw in months, and the guy - I'm pretty sure - was an eSports player.
