Declined Forum levels with prizes

Many people spend time on the Forum and talk to each other, they could spend time on the game but they choose this so they deserve something. I think there should be forum levels which will get you in-game crystals, or at least, something special on Forum. There should be max. 100 levels, levels should depend on the number of posts you have, how much time have you spent on forum, etc...

A forum in general, is a place of discussion and sharing of ideas. But it is, non-specifically in Tanki's case, not a mandatory thing that tankers should always use in their day to day lives. If people chose to come here instead of having conversations in the game lobby, or through any other communication media, it is their choice. The only reward they get is to be a part of the forum, which they can leave and never come back from without even facing any major consequences.

I guess, instead of getting rewards for different levels it would be better to simply get different levels just to show how advanced you're in the forum. Or just re-working the what it now shows, 'beginner' / 'advanced'  with more roles.

I'm not sure how you came to this conclusion. By not playing the game and being on the forum instead you are reducing the overall player base and making MM less effective for others. There's no reason why this should be rewarded.

 

As for the idea itself, you already have a post count, which is very similar to levels. If we ever upgrade to a newer forum engine, the post count can be replaced with a "reputation" counter, which shows the total number of likes you got on your posts.

What are you talking about, you do get prizes. 
Look at the likes you get when you post. The more you get the higher your level and the more interesting / relevant your post.

You can't get better rewards than likes.

MM is terrible anyways, no to mention alot of people (me included) hated the idea from the moment they even suggested it and we were right, the idea behind it was good but the execution is bad

There should be a secret update where the devs make it so that there will be a special title awarded for forumers who have contributed to the Forum. These forumers will have to be nominated by the mods and admins, so evidently, this is not a topic just to give me a special title because I know 4 sure that @Maf will never vote for me  :ph34r:

 

OK, jokes aside, I feel like we Forumers should be awarded for our contributions to the TO community. Not in material value like crystals or supplies but we should have a special icon in chat next to our names to indicate that we are experienced members of the TO community with lots of contributions towards the Forum (so this topic CANNOT be declined because it increases rewards). Often, we waste our lives here without anything in return, so I believe that a mere title would do as an award. 

 

The title is basically an honorary member award for contributions to the community.

 

Basically, at the end of each month, the mods should vote on forumers who should become inducted to the list honorary members. If you are nominated, you will get the special chat icon and be recognized throughout TO for your service towards the community. 

 

This will have many positive effects in the community and should be pretty simple to make happen (I don't think the devs even need to be notified by this. I think the mods right now have enough power to do stuff like that). Players who never participated in the TO community would be incented to join the TO Forum and join the discussion, making the forum live and active, players who have already contributed will keep contributing and less troll topics will appear, and there will be more players similar to helpers in the game.

I didn't see any similar thing tbh, the reason why I suggested this is that on many forums, people have ranks or levels, which makes sense.

I believe this is a double edged sword. Although a person with vast amounts of forum experience will be recognized and people will look up to him'her for information, it could also lead to a multitude of people looking towards moderators and administrators as supreme people with power to give someone recognition and authority, which isn't what we are. 

I still believe the positives of this idea outweigh the negatives, this feature can promote more people to use the forum and hence, would make them much more knowledgeable about all game aspects(the forum for me, is a community inside a community) and can introduce distraught intelligent people to other tankers closer to their caliber. 

What I also like about this idea is that it's unselfish behaviour, all you're getting is a title, but what you're contributing is far far more than that.

The forum is a place to talk, relax and have fun. I have no idea why you're here if you think that being here is nothing but a waste of your life. I spend time on the forum because I enjoy it, and I'm not expecting a reward for doing something I like. This applies to any other forum or online community where I'm just a regular user, not an admin. You don't get any rewards for, say, having a Facebook profile for a long time, do you? I don't see how this is different.

 

We already have an annual award for players we consider best contributors to the community. This happens at the end of the year, along with the HOTY awards. Other than that, there is no need to reward active contributors.

Another thing - it's extremely difficult to do anything in this forum engine. Even things like assigning a new forum group can take months to do and still end up being glitchy and broken. So we'll refrain from adding anything to this forum unless it's extremely necessary, but this idea does have a chance to happen if we ever upgrade to the newer forum engine.

Personally i agree with this, Member who were here for awhile and contributed frequently should be recognized With a certain icon on their forum avatar.

Just some ideas for possible prizes to be awarded by mods (I literally though of these at 11:00 last night, so dont blame me if they are stupid)

 

Lv 1: Downvote button.

 

Lv 2: Forum avatar. Like the mods, but missing any kind of symbol.

 

lv 3: The ability to make notes on your profile (Like the mods can)

 

Lv 4: Ill think of something...

 

Lv 5: The ability to hide posts/topics that break rules until a mod can look at them. (This one would only be granted to the most trusted forumers)
