zero discussions during battles - no tactics sharing

No-one chats in battles anymore, not in russia or in english.   No sharing of tactics.  Just hunting for gold boxes.  The team aspect of battles has vanished totally.  It is very rare to play with a team, which has equal focus on both attacking and defending.  It is so selfish play most of the time in team battles.   Gold boxes should be banned.  They are useless distraction in team battles.

Since previously battles would often last around 30 minutes, there was always time to stop and discuss strategy. Nowadays, you are much better off playing actively, than wasting precious seconds trying to use the chat for tactical discussion. That being said I would still very much like to have some kind of easy communication system, such as key shortcuts to tell people to defend, to attack, meet the flag carrier, etc.

Now, it would be wasting "precious seconds" but back then, it wasn't. It was a part of the gameplay, both teams did it. It was more like which team could out strategize the other. We came up with some very ingenious strategy. That was part of the fun of Tanki that was taken away from us. But then, we had teams, real teams, not a bunch of hot doggers. It's hard to find players who know how to play as a team. All the battle modes should be changed to CTF-DM, CP-DM, RGB-DM, ASL-DM. And since battle creators can turn on friendly fire why not TDM-DM.

Why bother texting/communicating with your team when all battles are mess? You can't organise a tactic whilst there is 8v4 battle going in at the beginning of the battle or in the middle. 

 

There is so much going on during battles now, so much to look after and as people mentioned above - Most of them do not speak the same language.

The only tactics I see are people who are holding the ball pressing the F key whilst facing the direction of a teammate. And even that I don't see often.

 

I don't see tactics in any other game mode.

If I meet an English speaker, we hit it off instantly. If I meet a Russian speaker, they say "noob" "xaxaxaxa" "ez" and "gold".

 

EN is like water. RU is like some greasy oil. They don't mix.

Due to MM system and shortening of the battles tactics are out . MM made you play with unknown players on unknown map , and without chances of rematch . Shortening came on top of it  , which makes comeback nearly impossible and tactics needs time to look at how the opposite team plays . .

You can do rematches in Pro battles, but there are few I'd want to. Sometimes, in Pro battles, I'll ask if any one speaks English. Usually, if I get an answer in English, if's from someone on the opposite team, otherwise, I get some Russian gobbledygook.

Not chatting at all sometimes is better than listening those gold kids saying stuff like: Its my flag give it to me, or when somebody takes the gold 2-3 players start swearing at him just because he took the gold instead of them..

Exactly.    Devs should remove the least played  battle modes to get more players to remaining ones and lengthen battle time to 10-12 minutes.

I speak and understand some Russian, which helps in battles, but since I am an American and don't have a Cyrillic keyboard, I cannot communicate with them. What I can understand is tactless, often "gold was?" or "Where was it?" or "xaxaxa" (laughing). The actual conversations are never of any help to the team, and they (Russians) often play rudely in battles. Their activity in the battle includes spamming the chat and intentionally bumping into shafts or flipping teammates. That said, I have run into some bilingual Russians that are good, respectable players. I have about 10 or so Russian friends in the game, and even they agree that their native players are often annoying and disrespectful. (I will not limit this to one people group; many Americans and English speaking players are just as bad.)

This might be a problem. I'd be surprised in everyone was russian and even then, they were not talking among themselves...just camping on the flag
