War Missions in Tanki Online

In addition to all the different types of daily missions we currently have in Tanki Online, I have a good suggestion about adding a very useful type of monthly mission. This just came to my head, right now.

 

Remember when players played in the "War Herald 1" and "The War 2"? Well, I remember those events.

 

Okay, let get to my point here. A new type of mission that must become available is a monthly mission, simply called "War". For that, a new tab named "War" will be displayed between "Weekly" and "Challenges" tabs.

The war missions will work like this:

 

Players would be able to take part and play the war missions once per month. That is one war mission per month. War missions will only be playable and suitable for team battles, not Deathmatch or Juggernaut. The War missions will always consist of the same mission type. However, players will choose a team. There are four teams in total. The teams will consist of a Red, Green, Blue and Yellow teams in Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Control Points, Assault Mode and Rugby Mode. Depending on which team you chose before joining the War mission, you would become that team color. For example, if I pick the Yellow Team color, I would play for the Yellow team.

 

The battle mode would just be a random mode. That is players that complete the monthly missions would be placed in any random battle mode.

 

Map:

 

Developers would have to create a very special map that is big enough to support four teams. On this map there are no factions, but all the four teams battle together in a similar way to the Red and Blue teams we have now. The only difference is that all four teams can fight each other just like in Deathmatch and Juggernaut where you can kill anyone. In a four team battle you can destroy any tank in any opposing team, but not your own team members. For example, if i play on the Yellow team, I can destroy enemy tanks in the Red, Green or Blue team.

 

Rewards:

 

1. The winning team in 1st place will earn a gold star reward with 10 containers and 1 monthly container.

 

2. The 2nd place team will earn a silver star and be rewarded with 5 containers and 1 monthly container.

 

3. The 3rd place team will earn a bronze star and be rewarded with 3 containers and 1 monthly container.

 

4. The 4th (last) place team would earn no stars, only 1 container and no monthly container.

 

Reward summary:

 

1. 1st place = Gold Star + 10 containers + 1 monthly container.

 

2. 2nd place = Silver Star + 5 containers + 1 monthly container.

 

3. 3rd place = Bronze Star + 3 containers + 1 monthly container.

 

4. 4th place = No Stars + Only 1 container + No monthly container.

 

Monthly containers:

 

Monthly containers would consist a type of container which would contain a size reward equal to 4X Weekly containers. What I mean is that monthly containers would be only 1 container that has a reward size of 4X weekly containers.

If you've been following the V-logs and livestreams, you probably know that Star Weeks will soon be turned into Challenges, where the whole interface of the event will be available in-game in the challenges tab. You will be able to see the requirements, track your progress and collect rewards without having to go to any external website.

 

So that will basically be the first part of your suggestion - a long event that is held regularly (a few times every year) and lasts multiple weeks, with potential to get very high rewards.

 

 

The second part of your idea with having an actual battle with 4 teams is a lot more complicated. The biggest issue with it is the fact that by forcing players to only join the team they chose and only play in those "war" battles to participate in the event, you are separating players into even more groups and making Matchmaking less effective. So waiting times for battles will increase and people will get frustrated.

 

Also, you spent way too much effort listing the reward tiers, but didn't give enough detail about the system itself. Like I said in previous topics - there is no need to give very specific information in your ideas, such as how much damage a new turret will do, how big the rewards are going to be, or when exactly something will be implemented. This kind of details are up to developers to decide.

 

So as for the "war" battles:

  • Do the players only play one "war" battle and get their reward based on where they placed?
  • Do the players keep accumulating the "stars" and get rewards at the end, based on how many they earned?
  • Do the players collect stars and the prize is given based on which faction got the most stars?
  • Is the whole event just a single battle once per month?
  • What happens if I lose the battle because I got a bad team? Do I miss out on all the rewards?

You have to be able to answer these questions, because at the moment your idea does not work.

I have followed and seen all the latest V-Logs including V-Log 194.

 

I only wanted to make war battles more interesting and challenging by having four teams in war battles. My suggestion about having war battles with four team is to have four teams for more competition, not split or frustrate players on waiting times.

 

Answers:

 

1. Players will only play one "war" and earn their rewards based on their position at the end of the war battle.

 

2. Stars would be a war trophy and based on player's positions, they will earn their rewards accounting to the position the team finished with.

 

3. There are no factions. Players play against 4 vs 4 teams and earn stars at the end. The stars are given to the top 3 placed; gold, silver and bronze stars.

 

4. Yes, the whole event only consists of just a single battle once per month.

 

5. If you lose the battle and you are playing on the losing team, your rewards will be smaller.

 

Please post me topic as under review, because I believe that it is somehow possible for developers to plan and think about monthly missions that would count as a single monthly mission that would work if developers choose to add a very special monthly mission.

Sorry, this isn't going to work as an event. The idea of multiple teams in one battle is pretty cool, and I already linked the topic where it was suggested. But having just a single battle once a month for players to participate in is a terrible idea. What if someone misses it because they're in school or asleep at the time? What if at the moment of the battle you have bad internet and get disconnected or lag a lot? And if you can miss out on the good rewards just because you ended up with a bad team (or the enemy team was a group of buyers), then it's not a good event.
