New unlock rank for shop kits - the death of F2P?

So it would appear that kits in the shop unlock at least two ranks earlier than in the garage. This seems to have been a recent change, and I can't say that I have found any announcement of it happening.

 

Imagine facing someone with M4 protections, an M4 combo, and an M4 drone at Brigadier. Now combine that with the joys of the MMS, and remember that you could be a WO4 facing that.

 

Anyone else fancy Smoky-Titan M2 at Gefreiter ()? That's right! You can now get your Keeper kit combo an astonishing nineteen ranks before the stock M2s unlock. 500 xp and a credit card can now get you one of the strongest M2 combos.

 

 

So. Is this the end of free to play? Can anyone ever argue that the game isn't pay to win?

In several cases it is more than two ranks. The Hunter M1/Freeze M2 now unlocks three ranks earlier, at Master Sergeant. Challenger unlocks 3 ranks earlier, I believe, etc. It seems that some of the "OP" kits (either strong combos or the first of their Modification) unlock even earlier, perhaps to encourage further spending?

Maybe it doesn't need a big rebalance, maybe allowing the same for Garage will be their answer. After all only buyers would have enough Crystals to buy the kits even if Garage has same rank requirements.

I don't think Brigadier is too early to get M3's, I mean you used to get Isida & Thunder M3 at Brigadier rank as well and then there was those old M3 kits, You could get M3 even before Brigadier, but one can get the M1/M2 kits way too early, That I agree with.

I complained about Drone kits being available below WO1 in the Shop like 2 weeks ago, but I didn't know about kits until yesterday that I saw Osaka and Siberian in the shop of my WO1 account.

 

Later I'll check my WO2 to see if Stinger and Avalanche are already available.

Exactly! I've already posted a complaint about it thinking nobody submitted it before but gladly someone did - thanks. This is the biggest money grab I have ever seen from TO developers team, I mean really? Introducing lower rank cap needed to unlock m3 without any announcement before? It's just funny but it's also sad how little do TO team care about players....if this issue won't be commented on by someone from TO developers then I think it's the high time to quit :(

Whichever is making these decisions is ruining this game. This update is shockingly bad and saw no announcement of it, no wonder. There is no way I'd want to play this game as a real newbie F2P or small-time buyer. Drug kits in shop for buyers and now equipments like Drones, OP turrets and expensive modules. I agree that this is a Pay-to-Win game. Such a shame that this once great game went down this path.
