Ideas for Matchmaking System!

Unfortunately this causes the same issue as the ability to select maps in general - it makes Matchmaking less effective. But I suppose it could be done on an individual basis, where each player sees the map with the texture pack they selected (winter or summer), but it would require a lot of changes in the way maps are loaded, which developers aren't going to do for a minor cosmetic feature. Alternatively, the system could just select the theme for the map based on settings of the majority.

That's what I meant, my bad for not explaining properly.

 

Would it really be that much work? There doesn't seem to be a difference when creating battles... I've had only a little experience in coding though, so I wouldn't know.

That could be made like voting. If MMS finds 16 players then it should count how many players are for summer/winter. Then MMs choose what mode it will be. Same can be done with maps. Not everyone's wish will be fulfilled but someone's will. Maf please say what you think. It's not hard to code either Edited by BlackEliteEnemy2

Hi all , again ....

 

I kinda started to like Matchmaking system , but the quick battle button is not sufficent enough , I like all modes except ASL , but whenever I click quick battle , it keeps throwing me into half finished ASL battles ,and to avoid that I would like to suggest a feature that allows you to do a quick battle while excluding a certain mode from the search.

 

so basically I will be able to play in any mode except assault which I really don't like , how to do that ? here's how , instead of having a button for each mode alone , replace that button with a check box , all checked modes will be considered when matchmaking , unchecked ones will be out of the search .

 

some of you will say If you don't want to play assault , choose any other mode , but If I do that , matchmaking will take forever to get me into a battle and it's just so boring to wait when you're eager to play .

 

Mods please don't merge this post , I don't want it to be lost with the other MM Ideas , unless it reaches the developers faster that way then go ahead and do it.

Alright, that's actually a very simple and straightforward way to implement this. I changed the idea status.

Since winter and summer are purely cosmetic, why not make it each player's choice as to which setting to play it in? Would also help snipers with camouflage.

You have to mash G at the beginning of the battle, and even if you do get it, you're about 40 seconds behind by the time you spawn in. If you miss G, then you have to SD and waste a death. It'd be much easier to just pick which mode, and to stay with that paint.

you don't suicide from changing paints.. you'll just change it the next time you spawn

You waste a death like that, obviously if you're not camouflaged at first you'll die faster. Also, opening the garage takes at least 30 seconds to load in total.

End unfair battles early based on flag/goal difference

 

Sometimes the teams are so unfair and one side is getting slaughtered.  Instead of flag limits and point/kill limits, there should be a difference.  For example 5 flags or 5 balls in rugby, 40-50 pts/deaths in TDM/ASL, and 20-25 in CP.  That way people won't have to face a really unfair battle for long.

This is when anyone could create a battle, before Pro battles came into existence. If you wanted your share of the battle fund, you had to wait until the timer ran out, even if there was no one on the other team, like it is in Pro battles now. Many players complained because if they created a one hour battle and the other team left in the first half hour, they either had to wait it out or leave. So, the Devs added an auto-end button. If there were less than half a team or a team left completely, the timer would start. I forget how many minutes...one minute, I think.  If the team with lesser players started filling up, the timer would stop. When they created the Pro battles, that privilege was taken away and only Pro battles could be created, but it seems the auto-end button was left out. In the place of auto-end, they reduced the battles to 10 minutes and gave more funds to the individual player as an incentive to stay. 

 

I think the auto-end should be reintroduced for the regular battles and the auto-end button be put into the Pro battles as a choice by the creator. Even with the added individual funds, players are still leaving the 10 minute battle if the other team took over the battle early and there is no hope of recovery. I think the auto-end would reduce the agony of being spawn killed for 5 minutes.

I agree.

 

Would also reduce the number of players exiting battles - more likely to "ride out" a bad battle to get a portion of battle-fund.

 

May not help in the really, really bad battles, but for most other battles could work.

I wonder why they still took away the early match termination thing they spent years working on.

They thought shoving players into half-finished battles was a viable solution.   :wacko:

The problem is with the MM and people leaving. It is not possible to stop players from leaving battles, and penalties are counterproductive.

 

The biggest problem to unbalanced teams is getting behind and players leaving. With 8 v 5 and a score of 4 to 0, the match should end, not have MM drop new players into the hopless cause.

 

Sure, it is complicated, but the way things are is very frustrating, demoralizing for players on the losing team, and not much challenge or fun for the other team.

XP/BP in matchmaking

 

I think Xp Bp should be added to match making.

 

I can give you the ideas as well.... After clicking the xp bp matches icon in the mm it should ask you long battle or medium or short....

 

1. Long Battles [999 CTF or CP or TDM Modes]

2. Medium Battles [99 CTF or CP or TDM Modes]

3. Short Battles [7 Only CTF]

 

I think they should not add any time. And they should only add these maps for Xp Bp format battles

 

1. Sandbox [Note ; It is not mm ]

2. Barda

3.Parma

4.Garder

5. Zone

6. Island

7. Rio etc..

 

I think that they should drop golds as they drop in regular mm non-pro battles.

I think this is a great idea. I believe matchmaking should have more options, other than this one. Such as the ability to select the length of the battle and what format it may have.

I hate the maps you chose

Xp/bp should be played on more diverse maps, not just those

Sometimes, I wish there were xp/bp battles in maps like valley or station..
