Ideas for Matchmaking System!

Welp On the serious note the matchmaking system should be reworked. To be honest I would hate for this game to completely die if MM system isn't re-balanced soon.

Umm.. that’s actually because in a majority of the PRO battles supplies are disabled leaving more room for the initial strength of the tank to be used only without it being doubled/increased :tongue:

but what matters to me more is skill and experience. ive studied over time how most people play and what types of protections they would use in certain maps or depending what they use commonly according to the players stats. to me weak protection or not it just comes down to the ability to the person if they can handle any situation or not. I play strategically and not just make hasty decisions.

Oh! That's so true lol. I completely overlooked the fact you can disable supplies there.

No it's not, but having protections that low at legend will only work out for you against average players and other low g/s.

I came top, 24/3. got killed 3 times trying to capture point basically on my own. So i stopped trying and went on a kill mission,this made the battle worthwhile in the end for me.

The team i was in was very weak and they didn't have a clue.

I despair at MM at times, it is anything but matching the correct players against each other.

The player numbers are obviously dropping which gives rise to battles like this. 

The legend (i use that term very loosely) at the bottom of the enemy team was a wasp magnum. (check out his profile) it proves my point about ranking to quickly.

The idea of MM is a good one. All the devs have to do now is get it right. So far along with multiple other updates they have brought into the game it has in the main, been a dismal failure.

I have a solution to the g/s problem that would match players of similar garage strength and rank.

To stop players abusing g/s upon entering a battle (going in with 3500 g/s and then bigging it up to say 9500 g/s) make it so that if you equip certain combos that exceed a certain g/s it kicks you from the battle.

Now the devs would have to work quite a bit to implement this, but i think it would be worth it and balance the game out considerably.

That magnum/wasp would be playing against WO5, maybe even lower.

Now i no that players would still find a way to use this system to their advantage (i can think of 1 way but will keep that to myself) but it has to be better than the current MM we have now.

@Spy claimed it was a glitch, i no he is only trying to defend the game, not blaming him for that. I also would like to defend the game as i enjoy playing it, but the experiment and the resulting battles that saw very very low ranks go against very high ranks was no glitch. The experiment may have exacerbated the huge rank spread in battles but MM at its core is severely broken. 

Along with all these alts (augements) for turrets/hulls etc, and the inability of the majority of players to temper their enthusiasm to reach the next rank, (chill guys enjoy the rank you are at) tanki for the most part only has a positive effect for those players that can afford to keep up with the increasing changes made by the devs. 

This is my best solution to date that i can think of to balance the game out so it is more user friendly for most players.

Lots of work needs to be done to achieve a better balance. This idea, and many many others from a multitude of players in the forum has to be given some serious thought by the devs.

If the devs keep ignoring these ideas (the intelligent ones) then the game will just keep getting more and more complaints from players fed up of not even having a chance of being competitive in battles. 

I no this was a bit long but it had to be said.

yeah there could always be new changes in the mean time. plus i rather upgrade my hulls and turrets first, to me upgrading protections really doesn't effect my game play it just depends the skill of the player. I can still make decent kills per match with low protections. ( Oh and yes I will give it that long because to make these types of changes if planned, would take time to rework a system)

Better the protections the fewer the deaths - kind of important in TDM.

Requirement for what?

For a Legend player those are weak modules.  Makes you more vulnerable in modes like TDM where getting kills is important, but not dying often is also important.

That Legend player with GS = 2800 is an embarrassment to the game.  I don't believe that person equipped their best items.

IF somehow those ARE their best items they should just scrap that account and start over. That player will be playing with Legends all the time, and will essentially be a mult.  I would not want that player on my team.  DM is the ONLY mode that account should be playing.

OK - most of the hours are in DM.  BUT - that screen-shot was from a team battle.

So basically multing in a Legend team battle.

Should be booted from that battle for purposely using inferior items when they have much better in the garage.

Well anyways I may upgrade them after I fully upgrade my hull hornet to the max. Plus I really don't like to play tdm as much anymore i rather play  other modes like siege or ctf that will help me gain exp faster or ill do death match but if you see my stats, my kd is fine as a whole. to me its a matter of choice if I want protections on or off.

What if MM classify players by rank and addons. for example player groups [rank brigadier to commander with drones] [rank brigadier to commander without drones] or the same with augments. without considering GS. this filter many unfair situation such as Incendiary band + heat immunity has a player in enemy team with heat immunity to possibly counter it. drones on the other hand make a huge difference so think players with drones should almost always play with other drone users. otherwise its a massacre by just one player and whole game is ruined for the rest

True, but I would rather prioritize upgrading a hull/turret I use all the time, rather than a protection module that has a 1 in 14 chance of actually being useful.

Its similar to the "King Level" in Clash Royale (If you ever played that game before)
In the game, your king level increases the more you upgrade your cards. And you get matched against players with similar King Levels (except in the game's 2v2 and "Party" gamemodes; those depend on individual card level)

Won't work.

1) You can equip/un-equip drones once in a battle

2) Someone may sacrifice some hull/turret upgrades to get a drone.  So they will be at a disadvantage when going up against only drone users as some/many of those drone users might actually have lots of turret/hull upgrades.

MM will work better if the rank-spreads are tightened up so they are not so ridiculous.

And the OP items need to be toned down.  It's a P2W game, and buyers will want advantages. But TO is giving them too many advantages and battles have become a complete mess.

Left 2 battles tonight already because I had completely unbalanced teams.

First one it was 6 vs 8, and one of our 6 was a Brigadier.  We were getting spawn-killed.  E-X-I-T

Second one we had a Legend with GS = 1280.  Ridiculous.   E-X-I-T.

Get rid of the legal hacks and totally rework MM, that's the only way it will work.

Legal hacks are in no particular order...emp gauss....hopper with it's 3 overdrives, (worst offender) and still hornet with it's overdrive (they never ever did nerf it the correct way)

This is what needs to be done, do this you have balance, are at least a more balanced game compared to the horrendous MM we have atm.

You rank to quick you end up like that player in the 1st screen.

MM has its faults but players do not help themselves by ranking to quickly.

The devs could help out by not giving you more xp/cry.

Should also make it so that you have to acquire more xp to rank also.

This would help the lower ranks out a lot.

These are sound and valid ideas and should be implemented into TO asap.
