Ideas for Matchmaking System!

Hello, Tankmen.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this suggestion.

I have been playing the game since the beginning and have always tried to contribute by sharing feedback and ideas for improvement. I understand that monetization, new goals, and challenges are important for keeping the game active, but I believe player retention and the overall gameplay experience should receive the same attention.

One issue in particular has become frustrating enough that it sometimes makes me leave a match or close the game entirely: friendly AI behavior.

I usually play defensively, protecting objectives and team assets, but friendly AI tanks can sometimes work against the team unintentionally. They may push allied tanks, block movement, self-destruct in bad positions, or interfere with combat.

The main problem seems to be that the AI does not properly account for moving allied tanks during pathfinding. Instead of recognizing a teammate as an obstacle and adjusting its route, it often tries to move through them. This can cost players positioning, kills, objectives, and sometimes the match itself.

Suggested Improvements

Ideally, friendly AI should recognize allied tanks as dynamic obstacles and adjust its path accordingly.

However, I understand that improving AI pathfinding may require more development time. As a quicker solution, I suggest reducing the AI's collision force or effective weight by around 70% when interacting with allies. This would allow players to push AI tanks out of the way instead of being blocked or pushed by them.

I also suggest reconsidering AI participation as the Juggernaut. Unless the AI has specific behavior designed for that role, having an AI-controlled Juggernaut can sometimes hurt the team more than help it.

Instead, when no suitable player is already controlling it, active players in a safe area could receive an option to become the Juggernaut. For example, the selected player could press [Y] when prompted, transforming their current tank into the Juggernaut without needing to destroy or respawn.

I believe these changes would reduce unnecessary frustration, improve match quality, and encourage players to stay in matches longer.

Bringing in new players is important, but keeping the players who already enjoy and support the game should be just as much of a priority.

Thank you for reading, and I would be interested to hear what other players think.

The devs added bots to the main servers in the 14th of July 2023 and from then till now bots have not received any meaningful change to improve their gameplay despite the constant feedbacks such as yours. The lack of communication about bots in the V-logs is also telling, despite players always complaining about bots. It does look like the devs wanted to add bots just to fill the gaps without thinking of improving the system later on.

I hope we can eventually play matches without feeling the need to leave because of the bots. From my point of view, this is close to being a critical issue, as it can directly affect match results and lead to losses.

Bots behave Iike new pIayers when roIIing.

l think they shouId behave more cautiousIy, hidding more and protecting the base more; l think this wouIdn´t require for them to be more "inteIigent", just have a different behavior.

When it comes to Juggernaut l aIso beIieve that bots shouIdn't be Juggernauts, instead, maybe the pIayer with Iess time as Juggernaut in their carreers shouId become Juggernauts, without respawning, and there couId aIso be Juggernaut Tickets to be bought from the shop for the VlP opportunity to be one.

Limited Supplies per Spawn in Matchmaking Battles

For more baIance in battIes we shouId get a Iimited number of SuppIies when we spawn, whether at the begining of a battIe, or when we Spawn after being Destroyed.

Of the the Secondary Weapons we shouId onIy carry one kind of:

  • Either 1 Big Grenade, Iike Tzar.
  • Or 3 Grenades, but weakened a IittIe.
  • Or 9 Mines. This couId be made a IittIe stronger or wider.

Then:

  • 1 NucIear SuppIy
  • 10 Repairs
  • 10 Armors
  • 10 Damages
  • 10 Speed Boosts

EviI thought:

  • lf you are destroyed or you seIf destruct, you Iose aII those suppIies.

You can suggest other numbers.

Different Equipment For Bots

l think Bots need to be different, that's different HuIIs, Turrets, Paints, etc.

Reasons:

  • To distinguish them from reguIar human controIIed tanks easiIy.
  • For better bot performance.

By better bot performance l'm thinking in round hovering tanks that don´t get stuck in a train of tankbots, because instead of pushing forward other tanks, with a round hovering huII they can move sideways when they detect an obstruction ahead.

The need for distinction from reguIar tanks is for us to prioritize targets, and other things.

And HazeI may be open to the idea, so Iet's do some brain storming on how it couId be.

Bots should have their own set of turrets and hulls, this is what I think. Akin to Halloween or NewYear events periods.

So the new player that start tanki now get a drone just from joining I'm sure there are people like me who played back in 2014 and arnt the 6 square box rank to buy the first drone yet. So can we get a drone for returning Veteran/OG players doesn't have to be anything too crazy maybe like a xp boost or increased cool down for all supplies or faster overdrive recharge. And also I play on pc, Nintendo and console. I see on console and pc you can talk in game. Can we get a implementation on Nintendo switch to chat in game? Like hold down the pause button to bring up the chat menu while in game? And also can the number of bots get reduced please... 85% of the games I play on Nintendo are bots and as a person who doesn't spend much to enjoy the game its annoying when the bots are dying more than helping. For example... I shouldn't have 6 bots on my team that all have more than 20 deaths with 3-5 kills all game. Whereas I have anywhere from 14-20 kills with 14 deaths without a drone by the way so I can't even use power ups consistently like the real players on the opposing team.

Could be something exotic like paint or any cosmetic that doesn't provide any in-game advantage, because minor advantage would instantly be overshadowed by enemy's overpowered equipments.
