Ideas for Matchmaking System!

I am suggesting TWO things, both regarding the MM system.

1) A filter to Quick Battles. 

  • Filter out any Modes you don't want to play, but the Quick Battle button will search for any other available Battles suited for you.
  • Example, I filter out ASL (worst mode), Quick Battle will never send me to an ASL match.
  • Also, it will filter out Maps you leave or get kicked from. 

2) Filter out Maps (Limited)

  • You can filter out 1-3 Maps depending on your Rank. 1 for being a low rank, 2 for medium rank, 3 for high-end ranks. (Filters do not stack).
  • Example, I do NOT want to play on Massacre or Berlin (worst maps) then MM will never send me to those maps.

 

 

What does this do? It is convenient for the players and will show the Devs which Maps are ACTUALLY good for MM, and which ones are just trash.

 

For Map filtering, if I don't want to play that map, I will just leave the Battle anyways, such a waste of time. I've gotten into a habit to know which map it is before I spawn in. If MM immediately starts, it means it sent me into the same map. If I notice some props and the backdrop, I know what Map it will be. Forget it, I'm not playing. I put a limit there so the system can't be abused and just play on certain maps. You can always turn the feature on/off.

 

PS: When will MM be fixed? Apparently we care about HD Skins and interface Updates rather than the awful MM system.

This is very nessecary, since players manually do this "filters" by leaving a match they don't like which results in ruined battles.

Ever since Matchmaking has been changed to more commonly allow wider rank distributions (ever since the December 16v16 experiment, and the introduction of much larger match sizes) there has been a particularly big problem in the mid-high ranks for players who are for instance Colonel and above. The problem is that these ranks are often meeting Legends in battle, MUCH more often than before, and before they even have access to Mk7 kits in the Shop themselves.

Ever since the 4x increased exp, the average higher ranking (but sub-Legend) tanker is a lot weaker, since they now have a much lower crystal-to-experience ratio. So the average Colonel - Generalissimo player is not only weaker than they would have been in the past, but they are also facing Legends at a much lower rank than before, or at leach much, more more often. Facing much higher ranks is always unfair, but the problem is that Legends are very different to any other rank - since they have potentially infinite experience and time to gather crystals/equipment, the average Legend is vastly more powerful than the average Generalissimo.

There are many, many Legends in the game ever since the increased exp, so I would certainly be willing to bet there are more Legends active on any one day than there are players within the ranks Lieutenant General - Generalissimo combined. Therefore, confining Legends to their own separate battles would not be a problem for queue times, I would suppose. However I know for various reasons, the devs wouldn't want to do that. So I propose at least, the following:

Set a lower limit, that Matchmaking no longer matches Legends with a rank lower than Lieutenant General (the rank at which Mk7 kits can be bought for crystals), except in very rare instances (such as when player numbers online are very low).

This would not apply to any other ranks - just to Legends, since Legends are a uniquely strong rank. Below Lieutenant General, you can commonly be matched with any rank up to Generalissimo, but only very rarely Legends - unlike now. This would make things a lot fairer than it is now, for at the minute players of Colonel and above are commonly getting smashed by Legends (and that is making playing at those ranks a terrible experience), whereas they never met them before until much higher rank. At least with this rule in place they will be very unlikely to meet them before they at least have access to Mk7 kits themselves, and have more of a fighting chance.

Recently, the number of matchmaking has changed, which makes my phone fluency lower . The reason is that there are too many players in a single battle. I hope to be able to choose the number of players in matchmaking freely, such as 5v5, 10v10

If you are not in a group, you will get into battles with less players.

Not always true.

Although I'm not sure if this issue depends specifically on the number of players. I've had smooth games without any lag on my phone on some of the biggest maps. But I also had some medium-small maps lag like crazy seemingly out of the blue. It may have something to do with how many other apps you have open at the moment, or perhaps your current battery charge.

Guys you're trying to make MM slightly slightly to become PRO battles !!    MM with its concept is to play random, which have worked with many games but failed miserably in Tanki.

I think the correct thing is to complaint about MM and ask for removing it or at least make the PRO battles a playable...   But suggesting like these suggestions is like you're trying slightly to convert it into PRO.

Selecting a certain mode for a certain map will take from you ages in waiting...  I think you just have to select either of them, imagine if you selected in example Silence which mean 1/41 (MM maps are 41), ok do you really think there are 41 active MM battles in the time?   Either yes or not,  imagine if you added above it a certain mode you select? for sure it will be harder.     Except if the system used a method to make your selected map more probable to appear for the others

Hi Tanki, i have a suggestion for Match Making! My suggestion would be adding multiple choices by starting Match Making, like you could choose what map do you want. Joining match for example - i'm gonna choose (Polygon - CTF) i know there is not that much players in Tanki nowdays but still. For example me i really love Polygon, Silence, Desert, Highland. It just gives me that good 2017 Tanki vibes. Especially that good Polygon CP XP/BP vibes. So my suggestion would be Match Making map choose feature. I really hope you will add these features.

Yes there is a battle feature just similar to your own idea, it’s called PRO battles.

Yeah, but it doesn't have MM features. 

1. More experience. 

2. Missions. 

3. Bigger funds.

few months ago, new maps we're added to matchmaking, and two of them are dusseldorf, and lost temple. The maps are way to huge, and in order to get to the other side of the map to attack ur enemies and it'll take a long time and once you get there, you'll probably get 1-4 kills (average) and then die. Just that the map is too big and many campers, for example the map lost temple has two bases both on opposite corners, in order to get to the enemy base you'll need to go up ramps which ur enemy has a clear upper hand, you could ofcourse go up the other side but that is usually guarded by shafts. So I just want to ask the developpers to remove these two maps from the game's matchmaking and keep them two only for battle list battles. I know 99.999999% chance the devs won't do this update but it's worth a try and sharing my thoughts.

I agree that Lost Temple is an annoying map but we might as well keep it. If you don't like it, leave, because I'm sure the map will benefit players with long-ranged turrets.

As for Dusseldorf, I actually love that map. The large amount of buildings make it one of the few maps in matchmaking that actually allow short-ranged turrets like Firebird, Freeze, Isida, and Hammer to actually do something without being sniped off by a Gauss or Railgun so easily. The map is also great for Ricochet and Striker users.

Dusseldorf is and has always been one of my favorite maps. I really love Assault and Siege in the Map. Dusseldorf is compatible with most of the turrets, in my opinion.

So I would not really like the idea of removing those maps entirely. It would be better if you leave the battle whenever you join the above Maps.

Big maps are just making an opened chance for snipers to snipe all the players. Snipers should suffer in the battles to take the one-shooting advantage, not we are who have to open them a shallow map just to sitting and sniping everyone.

Dusseldorf isn't an obvious sniper-friendly map, but it's just a pretty sux and I don't prefer to play it.
