Why do you still play Tanki

As title  :)

 

Personally I'd say out of habit, the game is so trashy now with the no skill drug meta.

Mostly habit, but sometimes a battle is fun or you get first place or you get 100000 crystals in a container (even though you don't know what you're going to spend them on) and it stops you from giving up. In less than a year I've accumulated over 400 hours playing time across 4 accounts, and that's probably too much / scary.

 

The missions update is a real downer compared to doing one mission a day per account (or more than one and claiming them on following days), and I miss the easy four containers per week. You'll still get that if you do two missions a day and a points / crystals / kills weekly mission that can easily be done in two weeks (unlike the 1-2-3 one), but just doing two missions today on two of my accounts was a bit of a grind.

 

I don't like drugs (especially RKs), and really wish there was the current MM plus a no-drugs one (PRO battles don't have the variety and convenience of MM for casual players), but that's never going to happen.

Yeh, habit.  There's nothing else like Tanki out there, all the rest like WoT etc all are either on Steam or require pretty uptodate OS's.
(If you've got WinXP few games will run like TO does).
So I just do it because stuff either won't run on my pc, or most of the other mmob's are all sci-fi fantasy games.

For me, it's a mixture of habit and not minding the updates. Last year October, I was also playing a mobile game but my phone got stolen so basically, all I have right now is Tanki. It's a good thing I decided to check out the forum more often otherwise I'd be really bored out of my mind when I had nothing to do in the game.

I was gonna choose habit, but then realized there were instances in which I've left the game for several months and even years (like 2015-2017).

 

So the main reason I play now is because I find it to be pretty fun and addicting, even if there's no goal I have in mind anymore.

Well I have 48 years still love playing some shooting games online , mostly because i like to study the opponent's tactics and mistakes. Have kids  , have finished Master's degree in electrical engineering  , talk four languages, I use mostly hornet with rico.

Still I'm not very good in turning rico dome  ;-) , but I'm fast and my kill rank is relative high from my weapon and protection choice.

 

BUT I SEE GAME IS DYING FAST ! 

 

reasons :

 

- point is not game anymore but making MORE,MORE,MORE profit  ; you are forced in constant upgrades

 

- upgrades are very expensive

 

- owners of game changes rules against of will of players ( they literally kill ISIDA  for instance )

 

- YOU CAN NOT CHANGE SOFTWARE PRODUCT AFTER PURCHASING because product after upgrade is not what you WANT and YOU

  HAVE BUY!   I'm sure that if someone went to European or America's court for costumer rights , It would get lawsuit in full!

 

- with higher ranks (medium ranks ) moderator's push players  into games with top players ranks (iron star) which have strongest weapons and

 huls , what made game UNEQUALL !  So - rank should be at same level : + / -  1 rank

 

- game loses story thread ;  old maps   not interesting missions , etc

 

- It should be possible that GARAGE  trade with players   to switch  / exchange / test components with some price deduction

 

- I should switch TO for another  game :huh: ..... seriously 1

This question has been bothering me.  In the poll, I voted for "hope it will get better", but I know that will never happen based on what Tanki has done to the game in the last couple of years.  "Habit" and familiarity have something to do with it, but I think I know the real reason I still play (not with this acct...too high a rank and battles are boring)

 

I just played in a battle that was FUN!  That's right FUN!...in Tanki, yep.  Not just a grind, not just to finish off boring missions so I can compete economically with the buyers, but FUN!  It almost never happens any more with the all the lopsided battles, the new legion of mission mults, the total lack of teamwork and community, the ridiculous rank bracket spread, the waiting in queue for DM matches, MM squirting you into the last two minutes of a battle, the, well you know what Tanki is like now, I need not belabor the sadness and flaws of Neo-Tanki.

 

Anyway, once in a while, there is still a good battle.  You get in on the start,  there are only three or four ranks, and all the players are trying to win.  It's really FUN!  That is why I still play Tanki, because occasionally it is still fun.

 

The absolute tragedy is that Tanki used to be fun all the time in the days before MatchMaking (The Paint Separation update was actually the beginning of the end of good Tanki even though that update was not bad in itself, it marked the start of the downward spiral).  We had lots of choice and control over almost everything...it was easy to find whatever kind of match you wanted...ease. challenge, just to finish a mission, teamwork, gain XP, or even grind for crystals...whatever you wanted.  Once in awhile a player would put a mult on his opposing team but now there are way more passive mult-like players than there ever were. 

 

Now it is maybe 1 in 20 or 30 battles that is fun (maybe even as bad as 1 in 50).  Previously it was more like 4 out or 5 battles were fun.  That's why MM is so hated, it has taken Tanki from almost always being fun to being fun every once in awhile.  And I still play Tanki for that one rare fun battle.  And that is why MM is so obnoxious and toxic...it is what stopped Tanki from being fun except on a very rare occasion.
