For me doing 10 Mission a week is better than doing 20. Check this comparison...

10 Missions :)

Week 1: 10/10 and 10/20 = ! Container and 2 Weekly Containers.

Week 2: 10/10 and 20/20 = 2 Containers and 5 Weekly Containers

Total = 3 Containers and 7 Weekly Containers

20 Missions

Week 1: 10/10 and 20/20 = 2 Containers and 5 Weekly Containers

Week 2: 10/10 and 20/20 = 2 Containers and 5 Weekly Containers

Total = 4 Containers and 10 Weekly Containers

The strategy consists of two main points:

  • Only buy and upgrade what you really need (2 or 3 turrets, 1 or 2 hulls, maybe 2-4 modules).
  • Only play enough battles to complete daily missions. No more.

If you do both of these things and also take advantage of discounts and special events (double funds, 20x golds, etc.), then in theory you should be able to stay competitive without buying or straining yourself too much.

When non buyers first start out, their biggest mistake is trying to MU too many turrets and hulls at the same time. I found, through several failed attempts, ultimately, all you need is one short to medium range weapon, one long range weapon...one lightweight hull and one medium weight hull.

Decide at the beginning of your career, what style of attack you are good/best at, then follow that path. Later, get the other turrets and hulls. Keep track of your rank and how long you have to MU or buy the next upgrade of your turret and hull. I made the mistake of buying a turret too late in my rank span for the M1 of that turret. I thought I had enough time to MU it to M1, but by the time I got it to 10/10, I was locked out of M1.

At first, only get the protections that bother you the most.

Mostly agree.

Modules though... quit a few "OP" turrets now - you know - the "flavours-of-the-month".  You might get by with 2-4 modules early in the ranks, but by mid-ranks you need to keep adding them whenever you can (on sale of course) - especially at m2 and beyond.

Having multiple items in your garage that need MUs can save you a LOT of crystals if you upgrade each one (only once) whenever there is a sale.

And the turrets now with Incendiary alterations... complicating it even more - needing two different protections for 1 turrets.  IMO, introducing that was a mistake.

Maf wants you to buy protections only for Thunder, Rail, Fire and Magnum, so he can kill you with his Hammer.

Actually, I stopped using Hammer after the alts update. Mostly Thunder and Railgun now.

I'm can be considered as a free player because the only crystals I bought were spent on a combo i don't use anymore

anyway i just play normally and it doesn't really feel that painful. none of my stuff are MUed and it doesn't matter because there's not much difference between m3 and m4.. i don't bother changing modules because in a 7 minute battle and my laggy computer i'll waste too much time and even risk getting kicked out before the garage fully loads.

so think that all we have to do is play and forget about the rest of the advices here or anywhere else cause they'll just waste too much of your time and the benefits are minimal they probably won't make any difference

In my WO2 account, I decided to save up my weekly containers until I see Raider Kit.

Remember, if you open up the weekly containers in high rank that you saved since low rank, you can get tons of crystals.

For my high account (this), since I have over 1000k , I can play as much as I want.

Low account... do mission and leave.

Seems like you have good skills, and you even use few supplies, but it could be your play style too that allows you to do well without a strong garage.

I have M2 Titan Smoky with Incendiary alt. I am Major General. How should I spend the crystals I get?

1. Wait to become Marshal, then buy M3 combo

2. MU Titan Smoky to 10/10

3. MU Shaft to M2 (is it worth it?)

One way to save crystals is to take only one combo and use it until M3 ranks, then get one M3 combo and upgrade it to M4.

I suggest choosing Freeze as the turret: Freeze M0 works even against M3s (doesn't need to be upgraded) and has good damage; I tried it out yesterday and was surprised with the results - with drugging, I could be in the top 3 players of my team in TDM. The downside is that an unexpected "balance" update can come any time and put Freeze back in its place.

MU Titan and Smoky to M3.

MUing your shaft to M2 isn't worth it at your rank. For Shaft, it is vital to get it to the maximum amount of upgrades as quickly as possible. Reason being that the only hulls you'll be able to one-shot (assuming you and the enemy don't have supplies activated) light hulls and Dictator. It's quite difficult to one-shot Vikings and Hunters since with a few upgrades, they may have more HP than your damage.

Stock M1 Shaft can't one-shot any Stock M2 Medium Hulls.

Stock M2 Shaft can one-shot Stock M2 Dictator and Hunter but not Stock M2 Viking.

It is critical that you have as much sniper damage as possible early on. At your rank, that may be wasting crystals depending on how many upgrades your Shaft already has. If your M1 Shaft has less than 7 upgrades then I'd suggest you buy it at 50% off in the next sale assuming it's on Valentine's day. That's just what I think. You can make your decision if others give their opinions.

What about Smoky? I have recently bought Incendiary alt and it is really OP xD

I feel like Smoky alts are fairly balanced. Never had particularly bad issues with them. It's always a really funny situation though when you got a Freeze fighting a Smoky and Smoky is the one doing the freezing because of their alts.

Smoky Incendiary hit does more than a critical.  And you need two modules to protect against it.

What's the downside?

Good point. I guess I haven't seen it enough in battles to know how strong it is. And haven't used it myself.

What's the downside?

The only real downside of Incendiary Rounds for Smoky is that it doesn't deal 700-800 damage instantly for a critical hit. If they don't have Fire protection, you'd have to wait at least 3 seconds to get more damage than the critical. If they have 50% Fire protection, it would be the same as an M1 Smoky with 7/10 upgrades hitting you with its critical shot but in order to achieve that damage, you'd have to wait the 5 seconds.

So basically, if you want an instant kill, you use regular Smoky. If you want a delayed kill, you use Incendiary.

Hmmmm, that rhyme sounded nice...

I'm about not to upgrade my Shaft to M3 when promote to Major. Even my Hornet is stock M2. Aim for the Centaur....

Any advice on what to do next?

Which kit should I buy?

Also just a heads up....

I have fire m2( mu'ed to m2),Shaft m2 and I want to have wasp m1 for parkour.

Also...for those who don't have drugs and wanna maintain a good K/D in MM, I'll say go for Shaft, Thunder, Railgun, Firebird( if necessary for attacking) with Viking.

Also if you are a non-buyer like me (well this section is for them xD) Play Polygon, Arena CP and Island CTF.

And for mid-ranks... play XP/BP(Hornet/Wasp with Rail).

It is an efficient and fast way to earn EXP and crystals( well not always in XP/BP but you acquire some skill)

Signing off for now.

Congrats with the crystals. Don't waste them.

The kits depend on your style. I guess your Viking is M1+, so you can either not get a Viking kit and wait for it to unlock, or buy an Viking kit to MU it to M2+. If you like Viking then get a Viking kit like Glaze, Minotaur or Northener.

Then you may need an M2 heavy hull. The kits would be Fortress, Atlas, Ram or Guard.

Then slowly MU those M2s to M2+ and save crystals for an M3 kit in the future.

Earning EXP is not good, unless you want to reach Legend faster, trying earning more crystals than EXP.
