tweak the freezing effect again

Recommended Posts

the uninterrupted repair kit should get rid of the freezing effect just as fast as the burning effect and that is IMMEDIATLY

I push repair kit button number 1 and I am not on fire anymore, but I push the 1 button after fighting freeze or smoky alteration and I am still moving very slow.

sure, it gets rid of the visual effect of being frozen, but I am actually still frozen and cant drive away fast and continue on my way, I am still waiting for the freeze effect to wear off

I am not sure if the repair actually even helps to get rid of the freezing effect or it the freezing effect is going away by itself.

Maybe all the repair kit actually does is get rid of the visual freezing effect, but there is no easy way to test it

From what I understand, the Repair kit is to recover hit points, not negate effects. Repair should not work (or at least be effective) while being fired upon, especially against melee turrets - all other turrets have the advantage of using distance as a defense while attacking a melee turret.

Repair also stops afterburn.  So that coincides with reducing freezing.

The afterburn does a lot more damage over time than many turrets do - smoky incendiary is example.  Regular hit + burn damage is significantly > than a critical hit.

Have you been tickled by Vulcan incendiary?  Only takes a couple seconds exposure and your health goes down for many seconds after that.

If RKs can't mitigate afterburn or slowness then those abilities are way OP.

Afterburn causes HP damage, Freeze effect does not.

Not sure what your point is... freezing may not do extra damage but - it makes you helpless.  Can actually be worse.

Smoky cryo instantly immobilizes you - now every enemy can target you with ease.  And that smoky can be across the map when it does this.

Does RK stop afterburn?

Yeah. But I've noticed the visual effect of the afterburn after I used repair kit would still linger for a couple seconds. I think nothing of it other than just a minor bug.

Same could be true for freeze but instead of the visual effect, it's the slow motion effect itself.

So currently RK removes the burning damage as soon as it is applied.

I don't believe a tank is immediately unfrozen when RK applied.  But it should - to be consistent.

Like I said, it's probably a bug. If it is, then it should just be reported.
