Update - Changes to turrets and alterations

Tankers!

 

With the tomorrow’s (Mar 1st) server restart at 02:00 UTC, we’ll be releasing another update in the game. This update will affect the parameters of a number of Turrets and Alterations.

 

Here are the details.

 

Turrets

  • Firebird
    • At lower levels, this turret was too imbalanced, so we’ve reduced its maximum heating temperature.
  • Isida
    • The number of points received for repairing allies has been returned to its previous value — 10.
       

 

Alterations

  • Thunder

    • Impact force for Thunder’s “Subcaliber rounds” has been increased from 10% to 20%.

  • Firebird

    • The improved heating rate for "Compact fuel tanks" has been decreased from 200% to 100% This means that the duration of combustion after a short heating effect will be less.

    • The “Incendiary mix” alteration now reduces energy consumption by 50% instead of 20%, which means that the energy gauge will last longer.

  • Frеeze

    • The damage boost for "Corrosive mix" has been reduced from 10% to 5%.

  • Hammer

    • Slightly changed the device "dragon's Breath": heating the target in contact with the shot will be a third less than before.

  • Ricochet

    • The energy penalty per shot for “Berserk” has been reduced from 100% to 80%. Now you can fire more shots per energy gauge.

    • Plasma-torch alteration now slows down projectiles by 66% instead of the previous 75%. This means your projectiles will be faster.

  • Striker

    • The reload penalty for "Uranium missile launcher" has been increased from 10% to 20%. This means the firing rate has been reduced.

  • Railgun

    • The maximum damage boost from "Round Destabilization" is now 70% instead of 90%.

    • The "Death Herald" alteration no longer imposes a penalty on reload time. However, charging time has increased by 10%. (edited)

ok some great changes  finally ricochet can work to what its meant for

 

Striker reduce .. Yea no more one shot kills

 

wow is all I can say maybe finally the game will balance it self out now

Finally isida users can rank up faster. Before this update, completely healing a teammate gave only 3 to 4 xp.

 

Also firebird rebalance was something we all were looking forward for.. now its not op in smaller ranks

What? Isida got a lot of points for healing thier teammate fully: 15 score.

I think that means normal charging time on Railgun is increased?

So what was that thing about "no longer imposes a penalty on charging time"? To me, it sounded like they disabled the penalty, then put it right back on.

The alteration doesn’t change anything but the specs of Railgun itself have changed?

They are honestly so ignorant to their own game... before, the alteration rebalance for striker, thunder, and hammer was a very good move. Now, I don’t even know what the hell this is, but all I can tell you is that they can’t even understand the mechanics of their own game. These alterations that involve slower moving projectiles, like uranium, plasma torch, heavy plasma gun, etc, are all currently balanced. In fact, the turrets and alterations in the game right now are all really balanced, except for probably a couple that are still slightly underpowered, like plasma torch, shock freeze, and auto cannon. So for the most part, all the turrets are balanced, and there should be no reason for these updates. Now here’s the problem: when you combine a lightning fast medium hull that has the speed of a hornet, then obviously it’s going to make these alterations look OP! The problem is not the turrets, themselves, it’s viking! These slow moving alts were never meant to be used with medium hulls, they were meant to be used with light hulls that can go fast so the slow moving bullets meant they were less of an issue (Wasp with uranium I get first every time in DM). When you use uranium with hunter or dictator, do you know how bad it is? It’s horrible. Slap that on a Viking, and you’ve got a juggernaut in the battle. Stop nerfing and changing weapons, and fix Viking please. It’s too overpowered and it’s killing the game. Next stop is going to be it’s overpowered overdrive and it will be used by 100% of the player base. Nice “balance”.

very true, they are practically nerfing stuff that are already balanced.... and leaving the OP alts as they are, its seems as if they see these OP alts are balanced and the other ones are better, so lets just weaken the already nerfed alts? -_-

I disagree that the turrets themselves are balanced. I think that Freeze and Firebird are currently not balanced.

 

As for alterations, Many are OP (upgrades instead of alterations) like:

 

Compact Tanks

Duplet

Dragon's Breath

Minus-Field Stabilisation

Incendiary Rounds

Missile launcher "Uranium"

Incendiary Band

Sledgehammer Rounds 

Round Destabilisation

"Death Herald" Compulsator

Hyperspace Rounds

 

 

For most of them on the list, you would mostly see those equipped on the turrets.

 

 

I agree that Viking is too fast. The lack of stability somewhat makes up for it but I don't like how maybe 60-75% of medium hull users use Viking.

I will buy M2 Thunder with that amazing Subcaliber alt and knock the hack out of the enemies...

25% would be even better xaxaxa

you've already been spamming that all over the forums for half a year... what difference does this update make to you?

Every balance update makes a difference, devs probably try to persuade players to buy Subcaliber rounds, Plasma torch and other rarely used alts by making them sligthly better.
