What is/are your "Can't believe that worked" moment(s) in Tanki?

I've been getting back into using Shaft recently. You know how when a Shaft fires its charged shot, the laser looks as if it rises, falls then disappears? Well, there was this really pesky Hornet + Railgun player in a MM Barda RBG. I knew where he was hiding so I trained my laser on the spot where he would have to peek to shoot.

 

I then whispered to myself, "Hey, what if?-...", I mimicked the action of Shaft firing its charged shot by quickly raising my laser upwards slightly then lowering it into the building that was really close by in my view. I honestly didn't expect the guy to get tricked by this as he drove out of his spot to try to get to the right-hand side of the blue base. I then shot him right before he got out of view and his reply was "w tf hacker".

 

I knew it would not have looked as fluid as the real thing but I couldn't believe that actually worked, on an XP player no less.

Oh, I had plenty, but forgot most of them.

 

One of my favourites is when I was using Magnum and camping at my base. Our flag was taken, and they were about to capture it. I decide to randomly shoot in the general direction of the enemy base, and with that blind shot ended up killing both the flag carrier and the Isida behind him, metres from the base. And the best thing is that my teammate actually returned the flag.

 

I had a bunch of similar stories with Magnum, Railgun, Striker and a bunch of other turrets, where I landed some insane shots which I thought were guaranteed to miss.

I have discovered that quite often dropping a mine when firing (Twins) suddenly gives you a bit of extra DPS for some reason.

 

Found it by chance when I was taking on a Firebird head-on, was going to die fast so put it in reverse and dropped a mine hoping he'd run over it, but I was surprised he died before he even got to the mine.  I should've been dead.

So now I routinely drop a mine if defensively reversing and firing and it does seem to work, oddly.

I went up the ramp with my wasp and a nitro, right when i hit the top of the ramp i hit a mine, and enemies shot me at the same time, did 1.5 flips, landed on a dictator and skidded into the point 

 

Then i got back up and started to run away before i was slaughtered

Ah yes, I just love it when I see 3 red numbers clumped together (but not too close) after I fire a shot from halfway across the map with Magnum. 

 

 

There was this one instance where I remember in a Noise CTF, a guy on red ran up the tunnels with our flag, I just let go of spacebar after charging up a bit and "rotating it" upwards and I had managed to kill 4 people with the shot. I honestly thought it was either going to hit the larger building in the base or the smaller one but it hit him dead centre (most likely). My teammate then recovered the flag for us, took the enemy flag and captured it as well. :D

Brest CTF. I was using Firebird/Hornet. I went to the enemy base with Isida/Viking entow. I grabbed the flag and made that leap of faith out the front and down into the valley where the RK is. I flipped, but just barely missed the RK. The Isida made the same leap, landed on top of me at the same time picking up the RK. I released the flag and the Isida scored. This wasn't something planned, it just turned out that way. All things considered (like the Viking not flipping and Isida not being killed by the Mags) it turned out well. As I was respawning, I saw Isida score with just a thread of health. When I fully materialized I earned the OD and used it on the Isida.

Someone with m2 mammoth was spamming mines all over the map in parkour Rio. So I placed about 10 to 15 mines in one spot in a direct entry to blue base by the beach area and went on a building to overlook the situation. And somehow, the mammoth ran over the trap I set for him and died, and his mines all disappeared.

Are you insinuating that these stories are fabrications, fake, made up? I can't speak for the others, but I know mine aren't.

Last Halloween during a gold drop, everyone was piling up, I was using striker and locking on to a mammoth that was right in the pile, had DD activated. It was successful, I got 6 kills from that.

I got one.... I was using Shaft in Highways DM/TDM, when someone jumped from the top center bridge and delivered fatal sniper shot...

I sometimes hit an enemy with Smoky while falling down from higher ground to get some kills down there. Same can be done with Thunder.

I was in Brest CTF (or TDM idk). this was long ago when i was somewhere near warrant officer 1. a gold was dropping in the middle of the map. one wasp+thunder stood directly on top of the gold spot and waited, as soon as the gold appeared, he activated his jump hacks. it looked as if he was gonna take the gold but then...

 

my teammate outta nowhere shot randomly with his railgun (yh he shot completely randomly he told me), i guess he was aiming for someone else but then his railgun killed the jump hacker who was mid air just INCHES away from the gold box. his dead tank touched the gold, thats how close he was.

In Magistal RGB I was coming up towards the capture point from the main ground level, so I had to go up two sets of mined ramps and then deal with all the Vulcans, Isidas and Freezes there. We had to capture this ball to tie the game, and there was around half a minute left. As I went up the first ramp, I had already used my Repair and was never going to be able to capture, then I saw a teammate coming from the bridge. I immediately passed the ball towards him, it landed directly on him and he went forward to capture the ball while literally all of the defenders were focused on me. 

 

Definitely one of the best teamwork moments I have ever had in this game.

The old days of Shaft, where you could go on a killing spree.

 

Serpuhov CTF, blue team. Spawned next to the long bridge and saw a lot of Wasps moving toward me.

 

Not a problem. They all didn't have Double Armor.

 

You can imagine what happened next... I scope in for one second for each of them and get 10 kills in a row before being killed by a trigger-happy Railgun.

 

My cousin, who had been watching, started to scream when I was at the fifth kill, and by the tenth, he was goddamn yelling profanities.

 

Then I yelled, "Since when was I in FaZe?"

 

The other moment happened two days ago.

 

Imagine you standard Highways ASL. I was on the blue team and just casually picking up kills on the right side bridge with Hunter, Shaft, and Rapid-fire mode.

 

Then I saw someone on the small middle bridge where the Nuclear Energy drops in DM, TDM, CTF, and RGB.

 

So I shot an arcade shot. 1259 damage.

 

Then something insane happened.

 

I went in to secure the kill by jumping off, but I hadn't seen a Railgun camping from the red base. He shot me and I went into a barrel roll.

 

At the same time, I was preparing to shoot the guy to deal the killing blow. So I shot at the exact same moment that my tank went into a barrel roll.

 

IN MID-AIR, I KILLED THE HUNTER-FIREBIRD WHILE SPINNING.

 

I landed perfectly on my tracks, and once I saw the kill feed, I screamed.

 

You can guess what kind of words came out of my mouth next - a mix of "holy" and profanities.

 

Jesus, that WAS my best moment ever. Nothing can beat this.
