What is/are your "Can't believe that worked" moment(s) in Tanki?

So in kunger DM I was facing this m3 Viking and hammer with duplet, who was chasing me for a little bit at the start of the encounter. All it took was one move: I jumped down an elevation just before he fired his second round and he practically dealt laughable damage. I came back up the ramp used Repair kit and fired the last two shots and got the kill.

I remember back when I was First Lieutenant, I was using M1 Cyclone (no MU that time) and M2 Dictator (got it from Simoom kit back at August 2018).

 

Placed in Red team CTF Serpuhov and then one of my teammate started to spam gold boxes.

 

What's the best part? One of the gold box drop zone was at blue team's base. Ho ho ho! Because Dictator's height and height advantage at my base, one salvo wasted 5 enemy tanks. That's 5 red numbers! 

 

Even better? One gold box dropped right at where I stand and snatched it! Same thing with the other gold too.

Have you seen viking? its like 4 inches tall...usually in polygon, people mob the gold box area.

I understood what you were saying. In Polygon, leaving a Gold Box on the ground and you got it without opposition, truly is a "Can't believe that worked" moment.

I literally just went from reading this to a battle. In that battle, I was using Magnum M1/Hunter M1 (@HBTY2). It was Polygon RGB. I randomly rolled through the middle and decided to shoot at almost 100% and 90 degrees because the ball was dropping there. I then retreated, and watched, as one Hunter and three wasps emerged to take the ball. Just as the ball got there, BOOM! my shell landed. Three kills and one significantly damaged Hunter, from a totally random shot. It was almost perfect timing.

 

*Edit: I had DD. They say that Magnum has prodigious damage, yet I can't one-shot M1 Wasps with my slightly MUed M1 Magnum...

I did that before...but it was to an enemy Railgun and he got a triple kill on my teammates. I said "sorry" and one of my teammates who died while he was aiming at the guy as well said, "Wow Shaft -_-".

Found it by chance when I was taking on a Firebird head-on, was going to die fast so put it in reverse and dropped a mine hoping he'd run over it, but I was surprised he died before he even got to the mine.  I should've been dead.

So now I routinely drop a mine if defensively reversing and firing and it does seem to work, oddly.

I went up the ramp with my wasp and a nitro, right when i hit the top of the ramp i hit a mine, and enemies shot me at the same time, did 1.5 flips, landed on a dictator and skidded into the point 

 

Then i got back up and started to run away before i was slaughtered

There was this one instance where I remember in a Noise CTF, a guy on red ran up the tunnels with our flag, I just let go of spacebar after charging up a bit and "rotating it" upwards and I had managed to kill 4 people with the shot. I honestly thought it was either going to hit the larger building in the base or the smaller one but it hit him dead centre (most likely). My teammate then recovered the flag for us, took the enemy flag and captured it as well. :D

I flipped, but just barely missed the RK. The Isida made the same leap, landed on top of me at the same time picking up the RK. I released the flag and the Isida scored. This wasn't something planned, it just turned out that way. All things considered (like the Viking not flipping and Isida not being killed by the Mags) it turned out well. Someone with m2 mammoth was spamming mines all over the map in parkour Rio. So I placed about 10 to 15 mines in one spot in a direct entry to blue base by the beach area and went on a building to overlook the situation. And somehow, the mammoth ran over the trap I set for him and died, and his mines all disappeared.

My "... can't believe that worked ..." moment:

• In the past, I was in a Contest.
  • 1st Place reward was any Skin Container of our choosing.
  • 3rd Place was any Paint of our choosing.
• I was one of the top winners of this Contest.
  • I won 3rd place.
• I got to choose any Paint that I wanted.
• But actually, I wanted to get 1st place, and any Skin that I wanted (Thunder XT).
• But the Contest was done, and the winners were announced already!
• So I couldn't do anything to change that.

 

• Later, I just happened to check the Forum for comments and congrats from other players on the entries.
• I came across a comment or two, on a Tanker who not only wanted to get 3rd Place and any Paint he wanted, but also that he won 1st Place!
• I was 3rd place, and he was 1st place! We wanted each other's Prizes, a Skin for me and a Paint for him!

 

• So I just thought about asking him if he wanted to change prizes with me.
  • We would ask the Helpers that we agreed to switch our Prizes, and tell them what we want.
• And it actually worked!
• This was crazy!
  • I thought I would not have gotten Thunder XT for a long time, (maybe from a Skin Container if I was lucky fast enough)
• But i actually found a player at the right place and right time to change prizes with, and he had the correct position and prize that I could switch with.
• A Win-Win!
