protection module idea

Recommended Posts

every player I see has all three protection module slots full while on the battlefield

what if you could boost protection from a single turret by simply leaving one or two slots open

if all protection modules are upgraded to 50% but only two of them are used, you would get 75% protection from those two turrets (cough cough firebird alteration vulcan cough)

if I only use one module slot, I get 100% protection from that turret (cough cough railgun cough)

if you only have 25% then you get 50% protection when you leave the other slots empty

if you have a 10% and a 50% together, you would get a 15% and 75%

one slot full is x2

two slots full is x1.5

three slots full is x1

if one of my other suggestions hasn't popped up in the forum, that means you're still thinking about it right? it has been two weeks

Declined

Seems quite unbalanced. I think modules shouldn't go above 50% protection, since that will ruin gameplay for turrets, which a lot of people protect against. I don't see a problem with everyone using 3 protections in every battle, and I don't see why using less than 3 should be encouraged.

Good idea! This is my module gameplay all the time! +1

But like Moof (Maf) said, it's unbalanced without some disadvantages.

If wanted to achieve absolute invulnerability to 1 turret, you can only equip the module based on the turret you are using.

it is not unbalanced. choosing to be invincible from one turret only or mines would be totally acceptable compared to all the other unbalanced garbage in this game.

Yes it is.

Not even remotely.

Wait... It should be exactly the opposite way...

1 module - full protection

2 module - 0,8* protection

3 modules - 0,6* protection

So if you have 3 M4 modules on your tank, they would count as 30%, not 50%.

As with the other suggestion - no to 100%.

And you are overall nerfing modules to 3x30%?   :o   90% total from 150% total?

A non-starter.  You would be tarred-and-feathered.

100% protection? Non!

Well I added a disadvantage:

Period.

I hear this and I imagine a bunch of people (maybe 3) taking Firebirds in a battle. They see each other, and take 100% firebird protection. Now these Firebirds are running around killing everyone who is not a firebird, so everyone takes Firebird and the protection module, resulting in an ugly stalemate.

You can't render a turret completely useless. Imagine you just bought your first M3 turret, Thunder, and the next thing you know, you can play better using a Smoky M0!

You mean those everyone will use Firebird and slap Fox module.... And results an ugly stalemate????

I dislike the idea, the reason I never play MM on this acc is protection modules, everyone has 50% protection against my turret, imagine 75  -_-

I foresee that happening, yes. Not sure I understood what you tried to say.

Aye.... I added another disadvantage:

If a foreign turret beside Railgun (for ex Twin) uses only 2 M4 modules (Panther and Falcon).... he/she will have 75% of Twin protection but the same 50% on Railgun.

Your idea is too complicated.

No-one (except long-range campers maybe) would agree to the idea you don't get full protection unless you use the turret you want protection from.  It's a non-starter.

And... going above 50% (in any case) is too much.

I agree with wolverine. Tanki seems to be catering to the superficial or weak-minded players in the playerbase or players who have low attention spans. They see things at a surface level perspective and refuse willingly or involuntarily to look deeper. They keep everything so simple, something a bit complicated would fry their brains and frustrate them. It's best to keep your alteration ideas simple and not overly situational.

I like to see mechanics on a deeper level and I want to expose anything Tanki may be hiding or misinforming in its gameplay, especially with the mechanics of the alterations.

The players could choose. 1*50%, 2*40% or 3*30%. The modules need a nerf and this is a good way to nerf them.

Probably we could have "Zero Modules" that are automatically equipped in the remaining 1 or 2 slots after equipping a module or two. Each would have 5% specific resistance to all turrets, such as 5% less freezing effect along with 5% less impact force (if 2 Modules for protection from Freeze and Smoky/Thunder/Railgun/Shaft are equipped). Another example would be having a 10% decrease in the range to which Isida's nanobots could extend towards you if you equip a Module against it.

These can not be purchased and are just for providing incentive to those equipping 1 or 2 Modules, hence the less values. No decrease in damage.
