The ball is in the game

Recommended Posts

but really the ball isnt in the game is it? its taking its sweet time floating down to the ground on a parachute for 10 seconds while I wait there getting shot by campers. its a ball, it doesnt need a parachute unlike the wooden supply crates.

there is some kind of garbage playing style going around where noobs keep throwing the ball out of bounds on purpose just to get the ball away from the their goal and that just ruins it because we gotta wait for the ball to gently glide down to ground after this happens, or after a goal was scored, or at the beginning of the game which is the worst

after you hear the loud annoying sheet metal rattling sound "The ball is in the game" it should actually be in the game on the ground ready for someone to pick it up

Declined

Technically, the ball IS in the game, since you can take it even while it's in the parachute, assumooing you can get to it. It takes just a couple games of Rugby to realise that "ball in the game" doesn't mooean that you should stand on the empty drop spot and wait to be killed.

Players who do this are playing smart. If the score is 2-2 and there are only 20 seconds remaining, the ball is close to your goal and your team wouldn't make it to the enemy goal in time even with a Wasp, then the smartest thing to do is get the ball out of play so the enemies won't have the opportunity to score.

Another situation is if you see that the enemy is about to do a massive push and your team isn't prepared to fend them off, get the ball out of play and their supplies would run out or be close to that which would make their assault more manageable for your team.

If you're mad because intelligent players exist and use their intelligence for the betterment of their team's performance, something is wrong.

Have you ever dropped a ball from a great height? When it hits the ground, it bounces several times and rolls in who knows what direction..maybe in a pit or on top of a cliff. It certainly wouldn't stay in the drop zone. The parachute prevents that from happening.

Speaking of pits. Our RGB team blue was ahead by one TD and there was just a tad more than a minute left in battle. The ball dropped near red base and they got it. Most of the red team came at us head on, a few went for the flanks. They were out for blood and steel. We were positioned and ready for them. We killed half the red team before they got to us. The ball carrier was killed a few feet from our TD point. One of my teammates managed to grab the ball and dumped it in a nearby pit. The ball didn't self destruct. It was funny watching the red team trying to retrieve the ball and self destructing. The ball went back into play, but by that time the game was over. You don't think that was good strategy?

both those situations are the same, the enemy will score because there arent enough players to defend the goal, whatever. I am talking about the players that just throw the ball over the edge even when there are two or three teammates drugged up and ready to go to the enemy goal or the ball isnt even near the goal at, so no risk. they are just stupid or trolls that only want to camp. and as for the ball in the parachute taking too long to drop I know they can make it drop faster because the goofy ass gold boxes with the faces drop really fast. thats all I was after. and the fact that a ball with a parachute looks stupid.

I didnt even care that much about this idea, I just wanted to see if it would show up after being moderated and it did.

and so my other post I sent in didnt, and my other post I sent in two or three weeks ago didnt show up either.

even if my idea is labeled valid it doesnt mean anything, or else that stupid invisible mine spam problem people have complained about from two or three months ago would be fixed already.

if you type a long paragraph in response to this, just know I wont read it or be here anymore I will only be posting in the reports section for catching hackers. peace

They aren't really the same. Scenario one was very specific. Scenario two is less specific and there is no quantified number of time left on the clock. It could be the beginning, middle or end of the battle.

Perhaps they are doing that to mess with the flow of the battle. How exactly do you know they're doing it? It could just be speculation on your part. Perhaps they're doing it for the greater good. You have to also put yourself in their shoes. You claim to have seen the player toss it out of play while drugged-up teammates were ready to go to the enemy base with it. You ever wondered if the player saw his/her teammates? You saw it from your perspective. You saw the player who tossed the ball and the teammates who were drugged-up. Just because you saw them doesn't mean your teammates saw them. The camera angle doesn't allow you to view a wide space behind your tank where your turret is facing. For all I know, that player probably didn't see his/her teammates, saw enemies coming, panicked and did the right thing with the knowledge he accumulated from his perspective in those few seconds.

Or maybe he/she was just messing with the flow of battle out of spite. The former above seems more likely.

The ball is technically in the game. I didn't see a reason to complain about that. It is in play but unreachable. It's kind of like pooling all of the footballers into their respective team's goalkeeper's net, dropping the ball on the dot of the centre-mark, blowing the whistle and having the players run towards it to see who gets it first. The ball is in play; it's just unattainable given the circumstances under which it was in play.

Darn, why won't you be here to read the discussion on a topic you posted? Seems kind of lazy to me. It's not hard to come here and see other players break down situations into tiny understandable bits for you.
