Inactivity timer should be reset from any activity

Recommended Posts

When playing with certain turrets, like shaft, you often don't move in inch with you tank in battles, and get removed.

the solution for this is simple. if you get a kill, your 2 or less minutes before you leave, goes back to 2:00.

if you don't get a kill, then you're prolly multing and need to be removed.'

fix#2 when ever you turn your turret, and then turn it again, and shoot, then it goes back to 2.

I think it should be more based on how many points you get.

And multing in DM or Juggernaut isn't a problem because if you mult in those modes, the only person you're hurting is yourself.

I totally agree. There I was in Massacre in the walled-in corner, sitting with my titan and shaft, getting a few kills with snipping, using DD and overdrive, than BOOM, removed for inactivity, as I didn't move my hull, but literally moved everything else, I absolutely agree, it needs to be updated.

Under review

But doesn't moving your turret in scope mode already reset the inactivity timer? If you literally sit there for over 2 minutes with space held down, looking at the same spot in your scope without getting a kill, then maybe you deserve to get removed for inactivity...  <_<

No, you'll get removed if you don't move your hull, same for mammoth, I liked to camp with my mag back in the day, I shot a few rounds, adjusting angle and power, was getting kills, but got removed just cos I didn't move my hull.

How about 3 things that the system should monitor: hull movement, turret rotation and firing.

If two of the three don't happen within two minutes then you are removed from battle.

So, since we were redirected here, thus, I, too find this a REAL problem.  11 kills, no deaths, and boom, out I go.  I was pissed.  Happened a few more times till I figured it out.

Yes, devs, whatever other turrets might be facing, I can only speak to Shaft.  We camp, we snipe, we don't take shots we could in order to wait for that ONE SHOT.  Please, figure something out so we don't get removed from battle when were actually often sacrificing scores and kills for the sake of supporting the team.

Yes turret rotation and points earned should count towards activity

Just today I was kicked out of battle while I was sniping and racking up good score, I lost my crystals because of inactivity

Remove the penalty from Shaft being in Siege/Scope mode. It's not our fault that the developers locked the hull when Shaft goes to Scope. As long as the scope's laser is on (whether or not the turret rotates), the inactivity counter should not start.

I am the first zealot to point out how unfair this is, BUT, I think points and turret movement should be the factors for in scope.  You'll get people you paperweight a spacebar and let it sit.  Scope alone would be nice, but, since we have lasers on them, it of course doesn't matter if we move a bit.  The other thing too, turret movement should be monitored so turrets are not spinning.

A few times I was kicked out of a battle for inactivity as Shaft and Gauss. I found the perfect camping spot along with the perfect paint for camaflouge. If I moved, I would be spotted. However, I stayed in Scope mode and hid my laser. I wasn't even given a warning that I would be kicked. Also, I had the Gauss tracking system active while camping on another map. And again, just because I did not move my hull, I was kicked out without warning. Either count the turret motion or scope modes as activity, or at least give me a 10-second warning that I am about to be kicked for inactivity.

Thanks.

Removed for inactivity

So I was in Massacre using Shaft, I was in 11-0. I was actively shooting enemy. And I was removed for inactivity. All of that because I forgot to move my tank a little.

This needs to be reworked. Mults can play full battle with no problem. I was useful to the team since it was RGB mode, I was killing enemies trying to cap. And then I am removed.

I lost 6 freaking stars... And also cost me my mission "finish 1 battle in Rugby mode". So now, instead of going back to TJR, I have to play Rugby again.

I don't understand how simple things like this or the anti cheat system are still not fixed in 2020 soon.

Tanks using Shaft's scope-mode will often see a warning message indicating that their game is paused for inactivity (probably due the lack of movement). But it happens that Shaft users will often appeal to the campering tactic, which is reasonable, since this turret won't allow players to move their tanks when in the scope-mode. Hence, my suggestion is to allow the code to detect when players using scope-mode are moving their turrets and allow them to be standing still as long as they keep moving the turret.

This kind of situation is rare, but it is very disturbing and it is necessary to optimize it. When playing shaft, aiming at the same place for a certain period of time will be kicked out of the battlefield. I spent a lot of time but lost points because of this. It is recommended to determine the target as the turret, not the hull.
