name it: I prefer the old system way better and the new one sucks and needs removed and I wish they would add the old one back because the new one is pointless 

Can you explain why do you think the new Gear Score system is pointless? 

 

In my opinion, the old system was very ambiguous due to the fact that it was misleading (e.g if someone had M1 Turret+Hull fully Mued it will show you around 4k GS and if someone had M1 Turret+Hull+AnimatedPaint+Skins+ShotEffect it will also show you 4k GS even if they were not fully MUed). Now you can at least make a good guess of someone's strength.

 

I am very curious to know why do you think old system was better.

I don't get what you mean by old and new system .... what you talk is all about the useless GS anyway - in any of its versions GS was and is useless - it showed and shows really nothing that might be considered useful !

 

The actual old system, however, was far more transparent and informative - you press R or V and you immediately know the % of protection and the MUs.

Mine is usually 9100-9300. If I equip brutus, which has 5 microupgrades, the GS jumps up another 200 points. I imagine if I were to purchase an expensive drone and microupgrade it, the score will jump further.

 

It's a pointless feature if tanki don't use it to discriminate in MM battles. But then, of course they wouldn't. Us none buyers are merely "moving targets" or "cannon fodder" for the buying noobs.

Ok, ngl, GS now seems a bit muddy. I can't accurately predict how powerful a tank is now as much as before. I thought I had a screenshot of the score but I can't find it. 

 

It was a Striker Hunter player with 5,400 GS. He was using Uranium and almost one-shotted my almost M3 Dictator. Before, 5,400 signified that their turret and hull were not at maximum upgrades and that their protection modules were around M2 level. Now, it could be seen as an M3 combo with good protection. 

 

It looks like it'll take some getting used to to predict enemy strength. Not going well atm.

I don't even bother looking at that.  Too busy in battle to worry about a number.  With OD, anyone in the battle can kill you.

Rly? M2 equipment has a gs of about 4000 turret and hull. For me it’s a bit easier to tell. Was he easy to kill? He probably only upgraded his turret or his striker is mued 7/10

He wasn't easy to kill, no. 

 

6,000 would be M3 turret and hull. Then you have to factor in his M2 protection and his alteration. 

 

My closest combo to 5,400 GS is M2.4 Gauss, M2.4 Dictator, three 19% protection modules, and a 4/20 Driver drone. I don't even have an alteration so that's 99 less GS. 

 

So really, I can't tell which GS shows max M2 turret and hull factoring in protections.

Yeah because when my firebird m2 is done upgrading to 7, and my hunter to 5 my gs will be 5450. He might of had that set up but I have a feeling he upgraded his turret to m3 to troll others lol. I only have 1 m2 protection and 1 m0 protection. If add my drone, my final gs would be 5500

I have a feeling devs did this to hide imbalance in MM battles... why did you think they *suddenly* added shot effects and skins after all these years? Sounds fishy to me.
