Chernobyl and Stadium

Well, I'm going to change this topic in to just a discussion about the two maps. Here's my opinion about Chernobyl (tried in PRO-battles, still haven't gotten either in MM). It's kinda bad. It's waaay to easy to spawn kill, there's nowhere to hide when you spawn, especially on Blue. Any turrets that can insta-kill you are just super OP, once any team captures the top it's almost (IMO) unconquerable, and they can just sit there and spawn-kill all day long (this is in TDM and CTF). I did do this with full drugs, just like an MM battle. And considering MM matches are usually anything but fair originally, I think this design will just further aid in blow-outs.

Greetings, everyone. I have already checked out the new MM maps in PRO-battles. I didn't really like the look of them, but I wanted to see how it was in MM, and that's another matter entirely anyhow. The problem is this. I've played 31 battles and counting so far, and I haven't got those maps a single time. I assume they are in circulation already? Anyways, I just wanted to know if other people had seen them in MM yet.

My third battle was a Chernobyl TDM. My Mammoth flipped on the ramp on the right hand side at the beginning of the battle so I left. Being flipped when the battle starts is an immediate turn-off for me.

I looked at Stadium ASL in a PRO battle and it doesn't look all that nice for either team to be honest. There are two main entrances that can be mines easily and efficiently with the Saboteur Drone.

If you decide to not do that, you can go one elevation further and jump off from the top. There is a flag in the middle of the map so you'd have to be brave to go for that one in the sight of many snipers.

At first glance, it doesn't look like Vulcan will fare greatly there since there is so much cover all over the enemy base but I have not experienced it there yet. Until then, I would say that Shaft can potentially be great there although given the distance, it would be easier to miss the shot than in other maps.

The map (Stadium) looks like it's suited for 10 v 10 and not 8 v 8 though.

Chernobyl is really good looking in design, that is what Chernobyl is about with its broken walls in the inside and the amount of pipes and 3rd library props (on which they were designed for industrial purposes too)

The only thing I didn't liked were the concrete fences at the top, they could be at least be replaced with the waffle walls imo

Stadium has the same issue as Chernobyl with the concrete fences, they don't look good

Haven't tried the gameplay, but I guess Stadium is another Highways

Yes, you are right the Chernobyl nuclear plant looks closer to the original and it looks nicer.

I finally got to play on Stadium (ASL). They've taken away the wall on both ends and replaced them with tiers, like on the sides. I got a bit lost and confused before I realized the change.

ASL blue is difficult to get to and all the flags are out in the open. It takes a lot of teamwork (and good snipers who are willing to leave the comfort of the base) to keep the enemy at bay. Yes, I know some weapons are not designed for close combat, but that's not what I'm talking about, and you know it. I saw a Shaft player who had his laser beam pointed steadily on the blue flag while his red teammates were getting slaughtered on the open field.

I haven't gotten on Chernobyl yet.

I haven't gotten on Chernobyl yet.

I have hope that you'll love it. It definitely gave me a refreshing taste. The map itself seems dull but that dullness make it feel interesting. I was on the receiving end of a blowout in a TDM there and the atmosphere and the scenery of the map itself made the blowout actually enjoyable.

Just watch out for pesky Railguns and Thunders up top.

Watch out for anything up top - I've heard there's going to be an alt for Firebird, available briefly for $500 USD, that gives it the range of Thunder... or maybe not, but you never know what they'll do for money. @Maf, do NOT move this post to the I&S ;)

I played Chernobyl a lot before MM came out. That was one of my favorite maps. It was a popular map back then.

I know all about that. I mostly played Firebird. I would sneak up the enemy ramp and take them by surprise.

When I played we just got spawn-killed by three rails.
