Make supplies a PRO Battle Pass feature

TO should remove "drugging" from regular JOIN battles. Regular battles are not fun because of druggers (well its more than just druggers but thats not what this idea is about). If you have supplies you will enjoy the game, and if you do not you will not enjoy the game. Keep supply boxes but please consider removing supplies.

At least for a week. Make it an experiment. This would be 1 step closer to making gameplay enjoyable again.

I can almost guarantee you that this won't happen. I agree that supplies still make players overpowered despite devs' attempts to supposedly make them balanced, but this is not the way to fix it. By removing supplies you will make gameplay less interesting. Although on second thought devs could add more supply drop locations and increase the drop rate to fix this, but I doubt they will even consider this because it seems that revenue from supply sales is still too high to sacrifice it for more balanced gameplay.

This isn't that much important, though. You get supplies literally thrown at you from Missions and Containers. Unless you use them too much, you always have a steady supply. So instead of thinking Double Damage as a drastic increase, I think about it as a time when you can target tanks in their weaker state (having a cooldown). You can't possibly have tanks in a vulnerable state in a no-drug battle, so supplies basically make the game feel realistic.

I don't think there is even a need to nerf Double Damage/Armour to 1.5 Damage/Armour.

Instead, increasing the usage time of supplies would be better. It was 45 seconds before, now it's 30. If they make it 45 secs back, I'm sure it will be more balanced.

 

And also, why the hell some drones increase supply usage time for 15 secs (Assault Drone) ? And it even increases for 15 secs once you kill. That's unfair.

And then you have a drone that can give you supplies + a repair kit when you pick up a flag or ball, as well as capturing a point.

People prefer them.

 

 

Also this idea would be horrible in team battles because it would be "spawn kill the weaker team to win".

 

The stronger team would have occupied all the drop boxes including the ones in the weaker teams base. Making it impossible to counter and a lot less enjoyable.

 

It would also make the missions where you have to collect a specific supply unbearable.

Currently it is not uncommon to see supply boxes simply in the open-with no one going after them. This is partially due to them being in remote areas of the map-and the boost you receive doesn't warrant spending 15 seconds just driving towards them. Unless they all drop in one area for snipers (think the hills in Massacre) it is not bolstering one team too much.

Even if you have Boosts and Double Damage/Armour you are not invincible-and if there are too enemy tanks nearby (due to them spawning there) your drugs are not that powerful. All they due is give you the upper hand in a 1v1 attack or 1v2. How many tanks are you gunning down due to Drugs?

Also-it is a normal thing to drug to a certain extent-just from missions and containers-why take that away? Drugs are not the only advantage buyers have. An M3 without drugs is still better than an M2.

Also the revenue from drugs might not be worth it-even for a special PRO pass. Unless they give this mode for a week (i.e. a holiday) and they see enough non-buyers will get the pass.

You do realise that supplies like Double Damage double your damage, not increase it. The Modification from M2 to M3 increases the stats, but not enough to double them. So an M2 with drugs is faster, stronger, and dealing more damage than an M3 without drugs.

I think you're right about that. I read once that an M0 turret on drugs deals the same damage as an M3 without drugs. (Unless the M3 had a buff at some point).

I think an M4 without drugs can beat a drugged up M0 (if the M0 doesn't use repair kit).

I just saw my idea was posted lol. Anyways I knew TO wouldn't add this I just wanted to see what people would say. Its just annoying that a supply is always activated. You always have DA or DP. Without it, it would be more interesting and more about skill. Drop boxes would be more valuable and harder to obtain.

Supplies are just extremely annoying and always have been since the start.

This is sad. Proves my point that without supplies you are at a disadvantage. I would swap sales and balanced gameplay because a balanced gameplay keeps players. Or at least that's what I would assume. If you are at a disadvantage you get more frustrated and just don't want to play anymore.

Unless they don't do missions.

Or play a lot more in MM than just doing missions.  The recent WARs and the monthly Challenges can deplete reserves quickly.

 

But no one forces them to play that long or complete the Challenges.

Slow does not have to be boring. As of now everyone just rushes to kill and get stars. Every now and then you use your OD. What is so much fun about that?

 

In non supply battles you can gather some people and push. On the other hand, defense is more viable, because you do not have to face fully drugged attackers using only one of their supplies due to smart cooldowns.

This is impossible in supply battles, since in those your lifetime is rather limited, and even if you do survive the 30 seconds without drugs you would have been better off respawning.

You simply cannot wait for enemies in drug battles, which limits strategic pushes involving multiple tanks vs some heavy defense.

 

In matchmaking battles the game is all about one-man drugger pushes. Nobody even cares to stay on defense, and regardless all you will face on attack is tanks without drugs.

 

You clearly never played in 2014-15 -- the best days of TO.
