Tankers!

Tomorrow, June 14, we’ll be implementing tweaks to the balance of Overdrives and Gauss. We’ll also be reworking the distribution of points in Gear Score.

Gauss

Gauss was released a week ago, and after carefully observing its performance in the game, we’ll be fixing some minor bugs and adjusting some of its characteristics as follows:

  • slightly changed the speed of the projectile in standard shooting mode;

  • increased the effectiveness of splash damage when firing in special mode;

  • increased damage spread of special shots;

  • slightly reduced the time required to acquire target in special mode;

  • greatly accelerated cooldown of special shots.

Additional Changes (see patch notes at the end of this announcement)

Isida

Points received for repairing allies increased from 10 to 12.

Mammoth Overdrive

Now this Overdrive will charge almost 1.5 times faster and gives a little more speed boost than before, but its active time is reduced from 10 seconds to 5 seconds.

Wasp Overdrive

Slightly increased Overdrive recharge rate (by approximately 11%).

Gear Score

Gear Score has been adjusted so that most of the points are awarded for the improvement of the most important components of the tank — the turret and the hull.

Now points are awarded as follows:

  • Turret — from 0 to 4000

  • Hull  — from 0 to 4000

  • Each protection module — from 40 to 400

  • Drone — from 50 to 500

  • Each supply (except gold box) — from 0 to 40

  • Turret/Hull skin — 15

  • Alteration — 15 (EDITED)

  • Shot effect — 15

  • Legendary paint — 14

  • Epic paint — 9

  • Rare paint — 5

  • Ordinary paint — 1

Small changes in maps

Overall height of the Highway map has been reduced and the ramps have been modified to make it more challenging to shoot across the whole length of the map. For some modes in Stadium, there will be one less Nuclear Energy drop zone.

That's all. Come back tomorrow to try out the new updates and tell us what you think!

Check out the complete patch notes here.

NOTICE:

Alterations do not contribute to Gear Score. Original post updated. Sorry for the confusion.

not sure about the drug issue. seeing the more drugs / dupply's in garage will increase our Gear scores ??

also weaken the new Gauss not increase splash damage on shots . its over powering when it blast tanks. for example the hornet when shot , of its on a bridge it can blow the tank over in one shot.

healing with isida takes forever so its nice to get that extra 2 score.

mammoths overdrive though is overall a nerf. i dont play with viking, but im pretty sure its overdrive is longer than mammoths, meaning viking can just activate its overdrive when mammoth does and will still be able to kill mammoth.

Looks like I'm not going to play MM until I get Gauss modules. And I'm not getting Gauss modules anytime soon.

Instead I'll be trolling with Wasp in PRO battles.

Looks like Gauss just became an OP beast.

Isida has a small welcome buff, but what it really needs is increased healing speed...it take forever to heal a teammate.  At least now you get paid a bit more to try to heal.

Mammoth now has the shortest reload time of all the ODs.  Its OD was 125 seconds, now reduce that by 40% and you get 75 seconds with no kills involved.  It may only last half as long, but Mammy will get almost twice as many ODs per battle.  If the Mammoth driver is quick at killing they will have an OD almost all the time...maybe 30 seconds without an OD, then back on for some more speed and slaughter...yikes.

Wasp is back to just about what it was before it got the buff.  Originally it was 125 seconds, then 110 seconds, and now back to 122 seconds.  Since they say approx 11%, I'm guessing that Wasp will go back to 125 seconds...even though that is actually more like 13%

Highways...more homogenization of maps.

Gear Score....who cares, it's still useless.

-----------------------------------oops-------------------------------

Wow, with the way I read the patch notes, I got Wasp and Mammoth bassacwards.

Mammy just went back to the garage for cold storage.  Not only did they cut the ODs duration in half (now 5 seconds), they increased the time it takes to regenerate.  I just put a stop watch on Mammy and it takes a whopping 144 seconds to charge with no killing.  That's about the same as Dictator.  Mammoth has left the building!

Wasp got a 100% undeserved big buff.  I timed Wasp's OD at 97 seconds or one minute and 37 seconds...significantly shorter than Hornet or Hunter.  And why?  To help game play?  Nope, to cancel lots and lots of supplies so more can be sold!

I welcome fixing bugs, mainly the extra shot after viking overdrive. That was annoying.
I also welcome the reduced reload.
I'm not happy about this change, but I get why it's done and... :( I understand it.

Well, I had fun with it until now, hopefully it will be still good, just with changed playstyle.

· I wonder how gauss will perform now.

· Isida change is nice and much needed.

· Mammoths OD was fine as it was.

· Wasps bomb did not need a buff, it needed a nerf if anything.

· I wonder what my gear score will be now.

· Map changes sound interesting.

More turrets should leave trail and Gauss needs a laser, for shot colors and to make it a little harder for campers.

Smoky and Thunder smoke trails; Magnum a splash that tells you which direction the shot came from even if it was shot at 89 degrees.

And remove a bunch of trees, even in Forest, call it deforestation.

Everything in this update is good except one.

The Mammoth overdrive was supposed to last 10 seconds, not 5 seconds. I am very unhappy that Mammoth's overdrive active time has been reduced to 5 seconds. That makes it almost impossible to use this overdrive to instantly kill enemies that tries to run away from you. However, there is only one good advantage that, Mammoth's overdrive now makes Mammoth drive a bit faster.

Please increase the active time of Mammoth back to 10 seconds like it was before.

That would make it OP, and this is coming from a mammoth user. You just have to use it more strategically now- make sure you are in a good position to use it properly before activating it instead of mindlessly rampaging for 10 seconds.

1.5 times faster. Wow. More OP

Viking OD is balanced?

Looking forward to Gauss changes. When adding its alts?

Did you miss the part about cutting duration in half?  Only lasts 5 seconds now.

1.5 is not really = 2.

Think I'd prefer to have the 10 second duration.

Will have to see how it performs.  Guess melee turrets won't be getting so close to my Vulcan so often...

Riddler is right, 5 seconds will be difficult to work with. And at the same time it need some kind of nerf for some situations.

How about weaker damage with a self healing feature.

But at the same time I don't like varying OD reloads because it requires a reset when you switch a Hull. They could do an OD conversion thought, so the OD doesn't go to 0 when you equip a new Hull.

Or just remove ODs.

Mammoth won't be capping as many flags in CTF - that extra 5 seconds makes a significant difference when you are trying to get away with the flag.

Gauss: Interesting. They increased the damage spread by a lot. I assumed that the tight damage spread was something unique to Gauss. And all of those buffs will make it a better contributor on the battlefield but is it too much? We'll see.

Isida: I anticipated this and it is a welcome one. It may just put me back in the mood to be a Support Nanobots Isida again.

Mammoth: Yeesh! This was not expected by me at all. 5 seconds is a small time to work with but that frequency change will be very noticeable. And thinking about it, Mammoths with the Driver drone at a nicely-upgraded level will have many Overdrives to use.

Wasp: At least Mammoth's hard counter got a buff, although the Wasps wouldn't have as many bombs ready as the Mammoths will have their AT-Fields. We'll see how this plays out. I expect to see many more Mammoths and I even expect to see many players complaining that they ruined Mammoth.

Wasp is back to just about what it was before it got the buff.  Originally it was 125 seconds, then 110 seconds, and now back to 122 seconds.  Since they say approx 11%, I'm guessing that Wasp will go back to 125 seconds...even though that is actually more like 13%

The way it was phrased, it sounded like a buff -  an increase in the charging rate would mean an increase in the % number of the charge every 30 seconds.

If they said "an increase in the charging time", then it would sound like a nerf as the overall time to reach 100% would be increased and therefore accumulate slower.
