Tweaks to the balance of Overdrives and Gauss, and more

Mammoth won't be capping as many flags in CTF - that extra 5 seconds makes a significant difference when you are trying to get away with the flag.

Let's try the 5 seconds, but I'd trade damage or OD reload for a healing feature so it works on more situations.

Or maybe not.

That with the highways map. Hmm...is it's more challenging to shoot across the whole length of the map.Not bad.Because now i can hide from Shafts  Finally.

LOL I don't mind even I'm a Hornet/Shaft... As long as there is little to no enemy Eagles to deal with, I'm ok with it.

Mammoth's overdrive at 10 seconds is not overpowered. I was fine. 5 seconds are too short.

Some people are crying that it's overpowered....

Splendid! Gauss has been just a tad bit underpoweered these tweaks will surely bring it to a balance!

Since you released this update, I couldn't even get into the game (I'm a browser user), I have yet to see the login page today.

Edit: never mind, I downloaded chrome to my laptop and it loaded me right in there. Sorry, I feel silly now. :D

Yeah same, I also faced new problems on the chrome, I lagged a lot. When I played on internet explorer, it had awesome performance. I wonder if it's because my new chrome has yet to be used to the game or not.

Commadore 64, I read or watched pictures about that in game magazines. Was that before or after the last Ice Age? Any reference on one of the Ice Age movies?

Edit: I just did some research and learned that Commodore 64 was a computer and not a video game console as I was thinking. The number 64 made me think it was a game console.

Gauss: Interesting. They increased the damage spread by a lot. I assumed that the tight damage spread was something unique to Gauss. And all of those buffs will make it a better contributor on the battlefield but is it too much? We'll see.

Isida: I anticipated this and it is a welcome one. It may just put me back in the mood to be a Support Nanobots Isida again.

Mammoth: Yeesh! This was not expected by me at all. 5 seconds is a small time to work with but that frequency change will be very noticeable. And thinking about it, Mammoths with the Driver drone at a nicely-upgraded level will have many Overdrives to use.

Wasp: At least Mammoth's hard counter got a buff, although the Wasps wouldn't have as many bombs ready as the Mammoths will have their AT-Fields. We'll see how this plays out. I expect to see many more Mammoths and I even expect to see many players complaining that they ruined Mammoth.

The way it was phrased, it sounded like a buff -  an increase in the charging rate would mean an increase in the % number of the charge every 30 seconds.

If they said "an increase in the charging time", then it would sound like a nerf as the overall time to reach 100% would be increased and therefore accumulate slower.

It is sometimes har to decipher Tanki-Speak and here is yet another instance I got it worng.  I just timed Wasp's OD manually (the lag is so bad I can't fight in a battle).

OMG...OMG!!!  ...They gave Wasp a BUFF!  A BUFF!  It originally was 125 seconds, then 109 or 110, now it is *100 seconds!  I just put a stopwatch on it.  That also reflects their 11% more accurately.   Crap, the Wasp bombs were awful before but now they will be ubiquitous thought all battles.

Tanki loves the Wasp bomb because it cancels tons of supplies.  I would bet that since the inception of ODs, supply consumption has at least doubled if not tripled.  Most of the ODs have a supply canceling effect, the exceptions being Dictator and Titan to an extent.  Wasp's bomb is non-combatable.  Sure, technically Hunter can nullify it, but it has to be almost a coincidence that you activate Hunters OD at the same time Wasp plants a bomb.  The one second lag for Hunter doesn't leave enough reaction time to defuse the bomb...all you end up doing is wasting a Hunter OD.

I hated the no-skill-required suicide bomb tactics of Wasp...most obnoxious OD out there, and Tanki gives it a buff so there will be even more bombs...typical.  Do these guys just sit around drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes trying to figure out ways to make the game less enjoyable?  It seems like they are actually trying to make it worse and worse.

*  I said 97 seconds previously because I didn't count the bomb's 3 second countdown.  I didn't realize that while the bomb is waiting to detonate, the OD is recharging...so Wasp's OD recharge is now 100 seconds including the countdown.

It just looks pathetic when they're being shot from somewhere far and they drop their bomb before they die....in the sight of no enemy. They just do it hoping it kills the player supposedly behind them when there was no one in a 200m radius from them. And it's predictable as well. They drive to you without shooting and then they drop it while you're still running away. I've had many instances where they were driving towards me (I'm reversing) and they drop it while I'm still reversing at full speed. They had bombs to waste and now they'll have some more.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Have they messed up Mammoth's change? If this 40% faster recharge change makes my Overdrive recharge in 2 minutes and 25 seconds, then how the heck did I survive before the change? Something seems off with the charge rate, either that or they didn't word the sentences unambiguously. That 5 seconds is such a tight frame. And this speed increase; I used my Overdrive with the speed boost supply and an M1 Dictator out-paced me. I didn't even notice the big "kick" in the speed of my Mammoth when I activated it, it was barely noticeable. The way it looked, it was as if I were using an M3 Dictator and the enemy was using an M4 Viking + speed boost. After doing some calculations, that Dictator should not have made that distance so quickly. This feels like a massive nerf to me.

And now that there are more bombs by Wasps, we're even in more danger of dying to them since by the time they react to our Overdrive by drooping the bomb, we'd only have about 3 seconds left of our Overdrive and the bomb will get us right as it finishes. Happened to me 3 times already.

I'm sorry, I interrupted Tanki-Speak incorrectly.  Wasp got the mondo buff while Mammoth got mothballed.  Mammy lost 5 seconds of OD duration AND it now takes lots longer to recharge the OD.  So they nerfed Mammy on both ends, duration and recharge.  I just put a stop watch on Mammoth and it now takes 144 seconds to recharge with no killing involved.  That is about as long as it takes Dictator's OD to recharge.  I think Mammoth now has about the worst OD, a position previously held by Viking.  At least Viking is super badass once or twice a battle.  Mammoth will now be ineffective two to three times a battle...I guess they figured they sold enough Mammoths to the gold hunters, so time to nerf it back to garagedom.

I have an idea: switch ODs every week.

Like next week Hornet gets the bomb and Wasp the radar; Mammoth the dome and Titan the... Oh no, bad idea.

Gear Score

Gear Score has been adjusted so that most of the points are awarded for the improvement of the most important components of the tank — the turret and the hull.

Now points are awarded as follows:

  • Turret — from 0 to 4000
  • Hull  — from 0 to 4000
  • Each protection module — from 40 to 400
  • Drone — from 50 to 500
  • Each supply (except gold box) — from 0 to 40
  • Turret/Hull skin — 15
  • Alteration — 15 (EDITED)
  • Shot effect — 15
  • Legendary paint — 14
  • Epic paint — 9
  • Rare paint — 5
  • Ordinary paint — 1

NOTICE:

Alterations do not contribute to Gear Score. Original post updated. Sorry for the confusion.

It was overpowered.

Everything in this update is good except one.

The Mammoth overdrive was supposed to last 10 seconds, not 5 seconds. I am very unhappy that Mammoth's overdrive active time has been reduced to 5 seconds. That makes it almost impossible to use this overdrive to instantly kill enemies that tries to run away from you. However, there is only one good advantage that, Mammoth's overdrive now makes Mammoth drive a bit faster.

Please increase the active time of Mammoth back to 10 seconds like it was before.

What the hell does "was supposed" mean? It was supposed until it was changed. Just like with every other update ever made. Mammoth was incredibly overpowered and impossible to stop from capturing a flag and getting a gold.
