Too many cosmetics?

The developers to paints are analogous to the French revolution government to money. The developers have put out too many new paints that no one uses plain old paints anymore and many of the cooler ones have been abandoned as well in favor of the animated and buyer-only ones. I remember when Zeus, Emerald, and Inferno were the coolest paints you could obtain and now those paints are extremely rare to find in battles (occassionaly you will have those warrant officer 3s running around with Emerald). Most players would have their own signature paint (mine was Spark) that was the best and only cool looking paint in their garage.

The value of paints have depreciated too much and this approach towards "pay to get cosmetics" is failing because everyone has the coolest paints. I would suggest a limited-time offer paint for events but less random paints that are released during events that have nothing to do with the event.

I like to use old paints. The new paints are flashy, bright dull, and all other adjectives, but so are a good set of the old paints. On some accounts, I care about what paints I wear as they set the mood in battles. But on others, I don't care and usually use the old paints that I get from containers or challenges.

And I like to actually play tactically so I'm not gonna wear a bright paint that reveals me all the time, I'd wear more camouflaged paints like Guerrilla and Rustle. I do like to wear bright paints sometimes like Domino.

I don't think many care that the old paints are of less value, probably because they realise paints don't directly affect how much damage you're doing to the enemy or how much damage you're able to sustain from the enemy.

At least paints are not P2W...

I'd rather see a million useless cosmetic items and useless gimmicks than more features like drones and MUs.

Dragon, Prodigi and White for me.

Sometimes I like to wear flashy animated paint so I stand out. It's like saying, " It's me again....I'm baaack!" The enemy team gets tick off, they look for my paint and focus their attention on me. Meanwhile, my teammates are making caps (ASL), making a TOUCHDOWN (RGB) or stealing a flag (CTF). If I really want to tick them off, I'll wear one of the flowered paints. Otherwise, I wear something dark. I like the variety of paints I've gotten from containers, it gives a lot to choose from to fit my mood.

No such thing as too many cosmetics :o They are good, a way for devs to get money without further imbalancing the game.

You're right, it is better than imbalancing the game by making it full on p2w (although it sort of is already with the game economy) but how long will it take these buyer fools to realize that their paints are practically worthless since they already own so many.

animated painters are much cooler,

after use the new paints, the old paint feel less shiny and less saturated color in comparison.

I am used to use Clay paint since I bought it, since it was highest paint before they introduced Lamberjack and Africa;

and inferno when I got M3, and Winter when I was at M2,

now, I got most cool old paint from container for free, like Africa, Nano, Taiga, Frost, Zombie, Sakura, Cherry that I would never buy in old days because their duplicated protection or bad protection stats.

-------------

I only got 1 animated paint from 1st challenge they introduced during the mobile version launch,

till now, it is very hard to get animated paint, as my best record is get 800 stars in monthly challenge, which below the tire normally required for animated reward ones

--------------

also animated paint give better gear score, it is always good to have 9999 gs with drone or 9499 with best of best without drone.

I stopped equipping Animated paints ever since I got Electra. Making someone lag isn't part of my winning strategy. ;)

Gosh, I didn't know my animated paint makes players lose control of their tank, jerk around the map, disappear when I'm shooting at them, get killed through buildings, cause spinning turrets, delayed shots, frozen screens. My animated paint does all that, huh? Then tell me...why do all those things happen when I'm not using animated paint? Why do all those things happen when no one is using animated paint?

Cosmetics and accessories do not affect gameplay in any way, so I don't see a problem with them. I'm also fairly certain that not many players have cool paints, there's a lot of ugly ones out there, especially the animated paints. If tanki sees no profit with the release of all these new paints I'm sure they would cease to do that by now, but that's not the case.

I don't mind having stickers, rear-view mirrors, GPS, coffee makers, or anything like that implemented in the game. Anything but another P2W disaster like drones.

I like the coffee maker idea. Can I carry a flask to add some "spirits" to my coffee? I think some players could benefit from a GPS.

Bad net, maybe? ;)

I'm talking about others with potato PCs and bad internet that my paint's animation might affect.

What you're saying is that animated paints don't contribute at all to lags. They're not the sole reason for lags and other problems, but they do add to it.

What you're saying is that animated paints don't contribute at all to lags. They're not the sole reason for lags and other problems, but they do add to it.

Look at it in this perspective:

There's a 55 gallon drum sitting in an open field. A bad storm rolls in with heavy rain. Someone decides to put a garden hose in the drum, turns the water on and leaves. Someone else comes along with extra sand and begins to dump that in the drum. A guy walks by with some cans and dumps those in. The parade continues with a variety of things to add to the drum. The drum is overflowing. Then someone comes by with a bubbler hose (makes liquids bubble) sticks that in the drum and turns on the water. The one who put the first hose in comes back and tells the one with the bubbler hose to turn it off because he's making the drum to overflow. He turns it off, but the drum is still overflowing. How much did the guy with the bubbler hose contribute to the overflow? Nothing because it was already overflowing when he put his bubbler hose in.

Point is, the game is already lagging (overflow). I join the game with animated paint (bubbler hose). Someone tells me to change paint because I'm contributing to the lag. I go to the garage and change paint (take the bubbler hose out of the drum). The game is still lagging (overflowing). How much did my animated paint (bubbler hose) contribute to the lag (overflow)?

Personally I don't mind things like the constant addition of paints (whether animated, container exclusive, bundle exclusive), shot effects, and skins. They don't give any effect and customizing your tank even more can be fun.

Honestly, I don't care if we get thousands of cosmetic items added to the game, as long as they don't provide any direct gameplay benefits.

It's a good source of income for developers and it lets players enjoy something new without making the game unfair.

I've played for so long that I have all of the old paints, plus all of the world cup paints. I bought the world cup paints with my tankoins so I stopped getting them in containers.
