Too many gold campers... ruining battles.

And since I'm most of the times sent with the noob team, when the gold campers are waitng for their Overdrives to charge, the team with the group is capping flags.

Hold tight, 2 more days.

Fantastic celebrations!

What I find to certainly be worth a laugh is that Mammoth is arguably the best at taking gold boxes and people are complaining about it, whereas last year complaints were directed towards how Wasps and Hornets had the best chance. I'm not sure if it is intentional, but it sure is comical!

Next year/time new hull will be dominating. Business

I said coordinated. You listed their effects when used with the user alone.

Each of the Overdrives has its counters but timing is key. One hull could bait out the enemy Hunter's Overdrive, and then the ally Titan can plop a dome in their base to heal their allies and allow them to generate Overdrive charge safely or keep a Viking alive to the end of its Overdrive duration.

You have Dictator which is a must have for team play. It gives every ally within a 15 metre range 50% of their Overdrive charge, as well as all supplies. A Titan can put a dome down and attract all of their allies to the dome and a Dictator inside can give everyone their Overdrive charge.

You have Hunter's Overdrive that can stun the defense of the team and Viking can finish them off with their Overdrive or you can stun them and a Wasp can place a bomb between the stunned enemies while taking the flag.

And that's only 2-member coordination. You have 8 teammates, and depending on the map, you can get 5 coordinated Overdrives.

Next, you have a Hornet damaging you through your shield. But in the past the game was about trying to shoot while avoiding fire (without Magnum -- a senseless weapon the concept of which does not compliment this game). You would ficht over slopes, try to work around enemy defenders.

Now on a high level of gameplay you have people waiting to coordinate their overdrive. And they most often won't, because they would have to be clumped up in one place -- easy way to get picked of by Magnums. Also, this again means that we have no defense.

Who defends now? Mammoths and Saboteur drones. Yoy can't go past a Mammoth while being too close. You have to destroy him, using flanks. Jumping over and other tricks are useless.

Saboteur is worse. Simply a passive defense that is impossible to go through, especially if the user is hidden somewhere behind the mines.

Fixed it for ya.

Works well enough.

Where did I say it improves anything?

Ummm, alright?

Didn't say they improved the game.

I assumed you are a devoted TO player who says the game had improved and is still going in a good direction.

Never felt better to be wrong :D

Still, using coordinated OD's is way less fun then moving on from house to house, only watching for Shafts and sneaking enemies, then flanking/juking enemies without the worry that some OD will send you back to your base having done nothing.

Strategic use of OD's can't fix that, and most often in practice you just get to destroy multiple tanks from time to time, while otherwise getting wrecked by them or playing casualy (the latter I like most, but it is still different than in the past since drugs and turret balance have been modified, not to say you can't choose to play fun maps anymore).

oh u dont know i took 45 golds previous year and almost 20 were taken by dic so technically without these stupid overdrives we can take it with any hull.

Mammoth is OP with normal golds, too. You can't really counter it, either. A Wasp/Hornet has half the HP and no immortality effect.

I'm devoted but that doesn't mean there aren't any things I don't enjoy about the game. Fast-paced MM battles make for some unfavourable gameplay but I'm still holding on because my accounts aren't in a state of total dependency on my team like some unlucky tankers (the ones with poor equipment for their rank).

Next, you have a Hornet damaging you through your shield.

Titan's dome has always fascinated me. It draws you in because it's a safe haven, full of protection and the warmth of healing. But it's almost like the Titan is calling its teammates to their deaths. It's funny to think about and witness a massacre of the enemy team or my team right after the dome disappears.

All I can say, is that the game has changed and we should adapt. That was one of the problems I had with some updates - we were required to adapt to it. Like the Firebird rework. It was hell if you didn't have a Fox module, and it was unfavourable even if you did have one. But, almost a year later, the number of Fox modules have increased and they now have better counters in the form of Freeze (higher DPS than before), a new turret (Gauss) and increased protection modules against them.

Now on a high level of gameplay you have people waiting to coordinate their overdrive. And they most often won't, because they would have to be clumped up in one place -- easy way to get picked off by Magnums. Also, this again means that we have no defense.

More relevant than ever now since the number of Magnums per battle has increased. And because I use Hornet with it, having my Overdrive against clumped enemies is a real treat. As for having no defense, that's if your teammates are willing to sacrifice scores and stars for victories...which is not beneficial for completing the challenge.

I usually see Titans and Hunters defending, with the Saboteur Drone of course.

The thing about Mammoth's Overdrive right now is that it's kind of weak after the nerf. So the best thing to do for your team is to taunt it (by rubbing yourself against it while shooting) to hopefully make them use their Overdrive on you. And that's basically a lot of their defence against massive pushes gone there. If I encounter a Mammoth, I would try to make it use its Overdrive. That tactic wouldn't work too well now because, come on, meteorite golds are too valuable for them to not save their Overdrive for it.

Mammoth is OP with normal golds, too. You can't really counter it, either. A Wasp/Hornet has half the HP and no immortality effect.

I found it comical as well. Back in December for 20x meteorite golds, only Wasps, Hornets and Vikings (and speed hackers) would be able to catch the meteorite gold. So I, as a Titan, decided to sit back and multi-kill enemies with Uranium Striker and take the top spot in almost every battle.

On one of my accounts, I have Hunter M2 and Mammoth M2. I decided that I had enough time with Mammoth and decided to ruin other Mammoths' time with the golds. I would zap them (and as collateral damage, any other hull around the drop zone) and kill the Mammoths. Both of Mammoth's counters have the fastest recharge rates in the game, and Wasp receives 2% more Overdrive charge for a kill (and possibly more charge for other actions) so it's a great defense to put on the gold box drop zone,, but that would mean missing out on the golds, so instead of putting the Mammoths in their place, you might as well join them and fight for the gold.

Now that its Overdrive duration is halved, a Hunter can stun it and basically render it almost useless against enemies. Wasp's bomb now has a better chance to kill the Mammoth rather than deactivate the Overdrive since the fuse is only 2 seconds shorter. I've been on the edge of surviving the bomb only for it to kill me riiiiiiight as my Overdrive finishes.

At least now heavy hulls have chance of taking the meteorite gold. I did wish they made the meteorite like Wasp's bomb and deactivate Mammoth's Overdrive upon impact. It's a short window but I could have killed many Mammoths before they took the gold if it were that way.

Well most players were irritated by the fact that Mammoths and Titans had no chance is what I mean.

True, but if a normal gold is dropping then wasp or Hornet can take it in the air.

Mammoth Party!

 Mammoth-party.png

Mammoth-party-2.png

Every Mammoth in that battle except TITANRASUL unspokenly teamed.

Admin, give TITANRASUL some kind of reward for not gold camping.

No golds had dropped in that battle btw.

Here is the end result:

Every observable Mammoth in the previous pictures, based on the statistics, did better than him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Cheaters are coming?

Something I encountered earlier today:

In a Massacre TDM battle, A Wasp Hammer has spawned. I shot the guy with a Gauss arcade shot, he stopped, immediately did two backflips on the spot, then proceeded to move again. That was more funny than concerning.

Thank God it's almost over. Did manage to catch a few golds, but all those Mammoths really ruin the game. Please, no  more meteorites

I was not actually asking the admin to reward player. :P

Player was a low rank with 3880 GS playing with Hornet, when player had a Mammoth.

I think player either wanted to play for fun, killing Mammoths, or get to golds fast.

Scratch this. I caught 4 golds (2 container golds and two 1k golds) with Hornet yesterday when the forum was down. The container golds were in back-to-back Silence battles.

Scratch that, I caught about 13 golds in the event. Turns out I was able to time when to accelerate somewhere during the 3rd day.

At least every hull had a chance. I have the usernames of 3 speed hackers and their turret and hull combination.

Ah, understood. I wouldn't mind if they gave everyone the old Overdrive for these meteorite events. It just means that the light hulls will triumph while the heavy hulls wouldn't catch any. With the new Overdrives, it's basically the other way around.

Hehe, I multed DMs for hours with Wasp and Mammoth, trying to get a gold. Got 1. This was on a low rank account, ofc. Anyways, I then decided to log on here. Caught two (without ODs): Hunter and Dictator.
