Do you feel emotional/nostalgic when you remember good old days on Tanki?

And one more thing I feel nostalgic about the good old days in Tanki is the Old "Madness" map, I miss it so much. :/

Definitely nostalgic, but I wouldn't say I miss those times or want relive them again. The game was pretty bad back then, with a ton of bugs, not many features, bad performance, etc.

There was a strategy that was a lot of fun.

3 or 4 tanks would ghost inside a Mammoth to get past enemy lines. The Mammoth would get the ghosting tanks into or near the enemy base, stop and distract them while the next tank would come out, materialize and keep going while the others kept ghosting. That one would get closer, stop and start shooting. The next take would materialize and grab the flag. Sometimes it worked out where a Hornet grabbing the flag would still have a Wasp ghosting inside. If the Hornet was killed, the Wasp would materialize and complete the journey to his base. This wasn't done very often because it took a lot of planning and players who know how it worked. But it sure came in handy when the enemy team OP the other.

When battles were 30 minutes long, a lot of strategizing went on with both teams. Wasps and Hornets were used as scouts to report back to the team where the strongest tanks were or the largest group.

Since the battles were so long and everyone spoke the same language, we got to know each others strong and weak points. In a short while, strategy wasn't always planned, but we thought like a team and could figure out the game plan without saying a word. At times there would be a player who seemed to have this strategy thing down pat and we dubbed him our Leader.

We played as a team dong teamwork. Not as individuals on a team playing for themselves. No one cared who got the most kills or who got the cap. It was all a team effort working towards an objective.

Because we could choose our battles, we were more apt to choose one where our strong points laid. We did a much better job at team balancing then the MM could only hope to have.

So true.

Supplies were 45 seconds long and the cooldowns between them were longer. Most often people would fight having one supply active at a time, then take another one, be more powerful for a short while and then keep fighting on one again. Now you are dead at least or useless after 30 secs.

Old supplies were better and far from what you say since they actually had longer cooldowns.

Not until september 29th 2014.

I remember before then supplies had no cool down, meaning that after your current batch wears off, you could immediately put on the next batch.

I may have exaggerated about the 3 minute long supplies, but the fact that you could put the next batch of supplies on, it might as well be 3 minutes.

Hah, he hasn't seen the true old tanki. It was way more pay to win than the current state ever was. Seeing marshals with m1s was a common sight, and unless you literally focused on a single combo you would have hell, because you would get next to no crystals for losing, so you had to be in top shape to ever win anything, while being careful not to use too many drugs, whereas one buyer could come and just sweep everyone down with m3s and near permanent drugs.

There's some nostalgia, mostly because the people I used to play with are now gone from tanki, but I don't miss the old game in general.

The biggest thing I miss was the good ole days, when my brother and I would parkour all day, for weeks on end. Parkour hadn't really advanced at that point in time, so when my brother and I successfully completed a trick with more than one mine (we had thought at the time that a dictator could only run over a single mine), we were ecstatic. Looking back, it is hard to believe that I was so noob at the time, and how much I have improved since then...

I agree with you on all points. It may have been pay to win, but not at all like it is now. There weren't that many buyers, so the M3 Marshal wasn't such a big deal in every battle. Marshal was the highest rank.

There weren't very many battle choices. I think it was DM then TDM and later CTF was introduced. In DM and TDM you were awarded crystals according to you kills. CTF was different. When it was first introduced, if a team didn't get a flag capped, they didn't get any crystals for their efforts. This was done to encourage players to fight for it. If your team managed to get a cap, then your efforts started counting, but crystal payout was very very low. Of course the winning team got the vast majority of the battle fund. I remember if I got more than 50 crystals, I was doing great. That's why the 10 crystal blue boxes were farmed so heavily and it was usually the Mammoths that won the sweet spot.

Funds weren't very high and was difficult to save enough to have very many. Most players coveted their supplies and used them sparingly. At any given time, I never had any more than 10 of each supply and even that was rare. Most times I went into battle with no supplies because I was saving up for the next batch.

You could still end up with enough supplies that you won't have to worry about running out. There were also a lot of big buyers who had like thousands of them at the time.

It's the reason why I took a year long break from tanki at the time. It got much better when the cool downs were added.

I beg to differ with you about the crystals. The non-buying players had to choose between MUing the turret or the hull....or buying supplies. Most players chose to MU. You could always tell those who chose to buy supplies instead of MUs. They were easy kills and couldn't survive without supplies. Yes, some had a ton, but at the expense of their hull and turret. These players never bought an M1 of anything.

There was a thing called daily rewards. You login, get your rewards, and log off. Might not be much everyday, but it was very exploitable. If patient enough, you could end up having M0 thunder with M1 power at whatever rank it unlocked, m1 smoky with m2 power at first sergeant, and so on and so forth. Along with potentially hundreds if not thousands of supplies.

That's still in what I consider "new times". Old times didn't have mus or daily rewards.

Ah, the days when my double armour and speed boost supply stock flourished. That and crystals were basically the only things I was getting each day. Didn't get many double damages.

You're right!! I forgot about those. I logged in each account just to get the daily rewards.

The last good thing I remember was when low ranks weren't constantly drugging. Now this too is gone :) The day the devs started acting dumb by making useless updates and constant changes without need, without addressing the real problems the game had, was the day Tanki started dying.

Devs have to account for their time. Fixing bugs and glitches takes time and shows less time accountability, whereas, adding new features is more tangible in time management. If you had to show your Boss what you do in a week's time, would you rather show him something he can see and understand, or something you have to explain and hope he understands?
