Update - Maps, Balance, Challenge/WAR extended.

Tankers!

 

With tomorrow’s (July 19) server restart, we’ll be releasing another update with tweaks to the balance, as well as some cool changes to maps.

 

Here’s what it will include:

 

Challenge

 

We’ve added 48 hours to the July Challenge and WAR to make up for starting them late.

 

Freeze

 

The freeze receives a slight nerf. A full canister will now last 6.5 seconds instead of 7.

 

Gauss

 

Doubled the aiming recovery time for special shots. Now, when trying to lock on for a special shot, if your enemy slips out of your sights, your lock-on mechanism will remain active for 2 seconds instead of 1 second. This means you have more time to re-acquire your target without losing your lock-on progress.

 

Ricochet

 

No changes to the turret, only to its alterations:

 

  • "Plasma torch" penalty to shot speed has been reduced. Plasma charges will reach opponents faster.

  • "Berserk" now consumes energy more slowly, so you can keep firing continuously for a longer time.

 

Hammer

 

No changes to the turret, only to its alterations:

 

  • “Slugger” penalty to turret rotation speed has been reduced

  • "Dragon's breath" will heat up enemy tanks more;

  • "High-capacity ammo clip" penalty for clip reload time will be reduced, and the penalty for reloading shots in a clip will be completely removed;

  • "Adaptive reload" will reload the clip fully instead of adding 2 shots;

  • "Duplet", unlike the alterations above, will be nerfed. Clip reload time penalty will increase

 

Dictator Overdrive

 

A positive change — the area of effect for this Overdrive will increase to 20 meters instead of the current 15.

 

Drones

 

A couple of our Drones will also undergo changes:

 

  • The Defender Drone will get a permanent active time of 20 seconds instead of the previous 3 – 5. However, the cooldown will be doubled, and the strength of the additional armor effect will be reduced.

  • The Booster Drone will also receive a passive effect duration of 3 seconds (previously it was possible to boost it up to 5), but with a 3X faster recharge.

 

Maps

 

This week it will be much more interesting to play matchmaking battles! 

 

We will add several maps to matchmaking, featuring visual and functional redesigns:

 

  • Release of the experimental map “Archipelago” in DM, TDM and CP modes;

  • Molotov will become available in DM, TDM, CP, CTF, RGB and ASL;

  • Cross will become available in DM, TDM, CP, CTF and RGB modes.

 

Additionally, some other maps will get minor fixes, and Forest will no longer be available in "Assault" mode.

 

And for dessert: The “Owl” module with Gauss protection has been added to the “Anticamper” protection modules kit, available to buy in the Shop.

Nice Changes. Butt shafts are too damn OP since last balance changes.

And when you guys are going to add alts for Gauss?

Looking forward for new MM maps specially cross for 8 vs 8 :ph34r:

  Every subsequent change in the last 2-3 years spoils the game more and more. I suppose Tankionline does not like its players and wants to get rid of them faster :unsure:

This sucks  :wacko: 5 seconds was already short.

Finally Booster Drone nerf, that took over half year. I play with it myself and it's too strong as it is right now.
Defender drone got boosted for battles, however that's a considerable nerf for parkour :(
Gauss change very appreciated, thanks for that.
Rico alterations boost good, those two alterations were unplayable.
Hammer changes make sense too, hopefully "High-capacity ammo clip" won't be too strong, I also like slugger buff.
Dictator overdrive change is perfect.
Cross in MM OMG amazing and nice to see molotov too
Great to see new map.

Very good update except for Defender drone bonus armor nerf, I'll miss that for parkour. Also, booster drone's cooldown time won't help it a lot, since you can use next double damage only after a minute (I know you can pick up DD box, but they drop every 2 minutes on just a few spots around whole map)

And if you tell me, that this is just DM, not another mode like CTF, where it maybe isn't so overpowered - it doesn't matter. it shall be balanced in every game mode and in DM it apparently isn't.

Nice to see cross added , hammer hammer !!! i should have bought protection module for it instead of striker.

 

Agreed, Cross is not only one of the earliest maps, but also the best!

Relative to Hammer, it is highly overrated; because if you fail to kill a tank (~90% of the time), then you are Quite Royally Screwed.

What is this booster change, is tanki kidding with the '3X faster resarche time'. As if I can activate double damage twice,
And defender drone is so OP, everyone will buy it and it will get nerfed after. Obvious money grabbing again. As always

Glad to see new maps, but it would be better to have 4v4 or 6v6 on Cross instead of modifying the map. Like in TX.

 

I have no idea why you buff Gauss though.

My opinions:

 

Challenge - fair.

Freeze - fair.

Gauss - sometimes fair, sometimes too much.

Plasma Torch - fair, will make it more viable in battles.

Berserk - same.

Slugger - unnecessary but good.

Dragon's Breath - idk.

H-cAC - idk, maybe too much.

Adaptive reload - will make the alt more attractive.

Duplet - idk.

Dictator - unnecessary but good.

Defender - idk.

Booster - OP.

Archipelago - interesting.

Molotov - same.

Cross - same, but please not 8v8.

Forest ASL - idk, they weren't too hard for me as the defense.

Yes! My prayers were heard! Finally Forest is out from Assault, there are almost no chances for blue team of winning. It is almost impossible to coordinate with the rest of the team to defend in an orderly way. Thank you!
