Update - Maps, Balance, Challenge/WAR extended.

Disappointed with booster nerf. The only m4 drone i play with and they nerf it, wasn't necessary, It's not that OP anyways  <_<

Having the Booster drone at a very high MU level can get you first place in every battle. 

 

Here are 5 battles where the 2 players, Vengeance and Hilfe, both had the Booster Drone

vengeance was a Viking + Uranium Striker. Hilfe was a Hornet + Electromagnetic Accelerator "Scout" Railgun. The drone is very powerful and very profitable for what it does. Destroying enemies is the most profitable + easiest thing you can do in MM battles. 

 

Many drones when they're fully micro-upgraded can allow you place first in many DM battles, but the Booster Drone is the easiest thing you can do to achieve that. Just look at the enemy, press 3 and shoot. Instant kill for many turrets.

I think I can better my previous idea...

 

Groups from 2 to 7 players in MM Battles. Say NO to the tyranny of Group limits.

 

Group of 2 = 5% less damage and 5% less armor each

Group of 3 = 10% less damage and 10% less armor each

Group of 4 = 15% less damage and 15% less armor each

Group of 5 = 20% less damage and 20% less armor each

Group of 6 = 25% less damage and 25% less armor each

Group of 7 = 30% less damage and 30% less armor each

 

Friends or clans should freely enjoy MM battles, coordinate, Discord, have fun and not feel guilty because the damage and armor penalty will be there to help balance battles. Of course Friends should count as part of a Group.

 

Yes, let Friends and Clans have fun in MM battles, end the tyranny.

The new map is just interesting and weird at the same time, basically it's a bunch of islands.

Soo, checked out the new maps. First impressions:

 


 

Archipelago

A bit - odd. First spawn I thought it was just that one little island - hardly fit for an 8 v 8. But then I saw the other two and I was only slightly appeased. Needless to say there's no way to get from one to the other, even in parkour mode. It's kinda like regular Polygon in that there are no bases. IMO it's a bad map (though I haven't played on it yet) because short-range turrets will rule, because there is easy cover from long-range turrets going from one island to the next.

As a side note - one of the islands is literally Island with some barriers.

If I were to improve the map, I would add heavily covered bridges in between islands (including the middle) and maybe make 4 islands instead of 3 with bases.

 


 

Cross MM

 

Good job! This is a great-looking map and it looks like it'll promise decent gameplay. I love the back, how it gives cover. This is a really well-done change, and kinda savours of Sandbox moving to MM too. Love it.

 


 

Molotov

 

This one looks cool too - I sense a new map to conquer. It's a bit hard to tell where the map starts and ends because of the congestion of houses, but once you figure it out it's good. Love the layout, especially for ASL. This looks like a prime map. Good job on this one too. One piece of advice - make the trenches be a self-destruct area, because I sense that some Magnums are going to figure out just how good of a camping spot that is - virtually impossible to kill them without having to self-destruct yourself.

 



 

Overall, great update in terms of maps. Haven't see balance changes in battle but they see pretty good. Bravo, devs. Nice job.

You've got a problem. Groups only go up to three players.

My opinions on this update:

 

Freeze

 

I am not too happy that Freeze has been nerfed, please buff up its freezing effect and damage a little bit.

 

Dictator Overdrive

 

I am so happy that Dictator's overdrive done area of effect has been made a little larger. Now it is much better to keep your team protected. Thanks a lot for that.

 

Maps

 

I am very excited about having new maps, both existent and new, in matchmaking battles. Molotov and Cross maps are amazing. When I was in the low ranks during my first year of playing Tanki Online, I used to play on the Cross map very often. Do you remember that? I have never played on the Archipelago map and I would like to see it. I hope that this new map is flat and has lots of space to play in.

 

Why will the Forest map no longer be available in Assault mode. Please explain that. Please keep the Forest map and all other maps in matchmaking battles.

 

Juggernaut

 

After so many, many complaints I have made about juggernaut being to weak, why didn't you buff it up in this update? I was looking forward to a positive update that would buff up juggernaut's armor and turrets.

I just played a matchmaking battle on the new Archipelago map. I like it. I like the different islands on this map, which makes this map a split map. It's fantastic to see a entirely different map in Tanki Online. It's great to have something new for a change. That's what I want to see new maps, turrets, hulls and new in-game mechanics.

Played it in DM on another account and well, I'd say that it's strictly a melee ranger and short ranger or any turret with high firing rate alteration map.

Once Freeze was very popular. After the nerf in alteration “corrosive mix”, Freeze is not used to often.

Now we face another unneeded nerf. I wonder why? Those balances can change in one night all the magic of the game.

Finally got into a battle in Archipelago. It was terrible. CP was just Island takeover, and there's nothing you can do with 1 supply vs. a bunch of the enemy with full supplies and ODs. And then there's the quandary - if you use a semi-long rank turret it's hard to takeover, and if you use a short-range turret then you literally have no way of earning points. Kinda silly. Interesting concept, bad map.

 

MM makeovers of Cross and Molotov are, as I suspected, good for playing.

That's your opinion, but I like the matchmaking versions of Cross, Archipelago and Molotov.

He was talking about the other map, some other MM maps got minor adjustments.
