Vulcan, a new way!

Rev up those barrels, 'cause there's a new way to play Vulcan!

And that is...to pair Vulcan with Wasp.

Now now, before you shudder off into disgust at what is forbidden in battles, you should try it out if you have the appropriate modifications for them at your rank. It is a new way to play Vulcan. it's like playing it with Dictator, but more fast-paced.

Play it with Reincforced Aiming Transmission and you have yourself circle-strafing enemies with ease. You can move about erratically to confuse your enemies while you approach and circle them with your high speed while the gyroscopic feature of Vulcan keeps the line of bullets on them.

Note that keyboards that ghost on particular keys may make it hard to use this combination effectively.

Have you experienced any Vulcan Wasps in battles? How do they do? Do you fear them? Do you fear them?

Bonus points if you look like a fidget spinner.

Well... you are a high rank playing against lower ranks, and you're not even that far ahead of your teammates by score (one of the games isn't even first place). Still good though, considering how ridiculous the combo seems at first.

Tried it. Can't say I'm impressed. It's probably just a question of playstyle and preference - I hate Vulcan and barely have any experience with it, so none of the tactics you described worked for me. I just found myself being unable to hit anyone because my bullets kept flying too high due to the limited vertical angles and Wasp getting raised by the recoil.

I see...

I guess I'll keep enjoying it until the law of diminishing returns takes effect.

Now we're talking, let me equip that M0 Vulcan of mine and start dominating some battles. B)

On a serious note though, I don't think I've ever seen that combo in a battle, maybe in some parkour maps, but that's it.

Also please deduct points from anyone using the fidget spinner paint.

I yearn for a day where many players group to fighter and play with Wasp + Vulcan. You spawn and see 6 teammates with Wasp Vulcan, 4 Wasp Vulcans on the enemy team.

I'd say pairing Vulcan with anything lighter than a medium hull will be seen as a bad idea, just because the way it works works best with a medium, especially a heavy, hull. Vulcan is already rare as it is, it would be even more rare to see it planted on a hull that players think it would be inefficient with. Strafing and circling the enemy is the most dangerous but profitable part.

Ya gotta spin-to-win.

Maybe someday we'll see that happen, with a new update/alteration that would change players minds.

Can't you just circle enemies with freeze/fire/isida already anyway...?

Can, but I think choosing a long range turret is better so you can fire at enemies at far

Of course you can revive it, just focus on playing missions.

I've gone down to zero crystals several times before, and it was always the daily and weekly rewards from missions that would bump them back up.

My m0 vulcan + wasp combo didn't work...

Try until you succeed. Those M4 Sledgehammer Thunders can't beat you if you believe hard enough.

It's more rewarding to do it to a person with a turret that isn't designed for that.

So, after many battles with this combo, I'd say that this combo is not for casual players. With this combo, your head is always in the action. You. are. speed.

You zip around every chance you can. You circle enemies every chance you can.

Playstyles:

Fibonacci Spiral

You circle your opponent while shooting but with each passing second, the circle's radius either becomes shorter or becomes longer depending on the distance you started circling them at. This requires the Reinforced Aiming Transmission alteration to be the most efficient. This is the playstyle I usually go for on flat, open maps.

Drive-by Barrelling

Unlike the Fibonacci Spiral. this alteration can be effective with or without Reinforced Aiming Transmission. If the terrain and props allow it, you can sweep through an area and focus your bullets on a lone target. This is usually a less aggressive approach.

You're going to need a lot of speed boosts because your speed is key for this combo. Note that because of auto-aim decrease of Reinforced Aiming Transmission, it is advised to drive away from the target while shooting, to avoid the recoil of your Vulcan to raise your Wasp (hence raising your Vulcan which raises your auto-aim angle off of what is necessary to hit). This combo works best against Dictators.

That's all for now.
