Tankoins in weekly containers

I might need to re-visit math class after all.

By my calculations it would take 2.67 YEARS to collect enough tankoins for one 2500 supplies kit.

That is not good for the free players.

There is one important fact: weekly containers will not be the only way to get tankoins.

Here are two honest questions that have me confused:

If tankoins were added to the game to make it possible for non-buyers to get items from the shop, why raise the shop prices by over 50%?

If Tankoins are supposed to be a valuable in-game currency, why reduce their value by over 50% the day that you release them into the game?

I guess they are both basically the same question, but I would love to hear any thoughts on this. Seriously. Jiim

Developpers can't give you an easy access to shop items, this will kill the game's economy. I think we should be thankfull even that we get a small amount of TKs from these conts, don't forget they will put Tankoins as rewards in the next challenge too, and you have a chance to win a decent amount of them from Contests as well.  :)

I think of it like the Drones situation. After a while, everyone would have enough Tankoins to make a purchase of their choice, it's only a matter of time. Just like it was only a matter of time before max-levelled Drones made it into the battlefield as a common sight in the high ranks. So by raising the prices, they've technically dealt with players getting "more" beforehand. I still think it's too early for the price change (even though any time after would be even more upsetting to players) and I doubt that there would be much Tankoins in the Challenges. I'd predict 250 in total.

So yeah, they're benefitting at the moment before everyone benefits from the free coins they're giving out. That's my take on it.

Hey!

As @Zak mentioned, this will kill the game's economy. These changes were made to keep game balance in proper condition.

Please explain how releasing imaginary Tankoins into the game with no stated value, then reducing their imaginary value by more than 50% affects balance in any way.

What is your definition of a while?

Let's be serious here... with the raise in shop prices combined with paltry amount awarded weekly - F2P tankers do NOT have realistic access to the Shop.  We just don't.

My  point was that you get 3 Tankoins for FREE from every container that you earn from missions. 30 containers would give you 90 tankoins, which you could BUY for less than a dollar in the store. You might want to re-visit your reading comprehension studies. No one here wants to buy anything, They seem to think that the developers live off of good reviews and happy tankers, not money. I get your point though, I just thought the reading comprehension comment would be funny.

"Tankoins are only a penny in the store."    Since you can't buy anything in the shop for less than a dollar this is nonsense.

My reading comprehension is fine - you phrased that post poorly,

Tankoins were added to shop for MOBILE players.  Non-buyers getting items from shop (LOL) is supposedly a by-product.

1-2 years

That was just the basic idea I had. This case with Tanki would be on the more extreme side since the paltry rewards we're getting right now (and may be getting in the future) would take that time just to buy something decent. If the non-buyers were to get enough to buy something decent in 6 months, well, that's understandable to raise the prices, but 1-2 years? I find that a long stretch.

They say that they'll put it in other areas like Challenges. They also said that they may put tankoin-purchasable items outside of the shop. SO perhaps by the time they do that, we may have saved up enough?

Another thing to note is that all these calculations you and others did at the beginning of these topics are set t be perfect 20/20 missions every week and each weekly mission completed, which, to be honest, is unlikely for the average player. I haven't been playing much since the release of Tankoins in weekly containers and have missed out on quite a bit.

Not me - I don't get 6 containers every week.  At best it's more like avg of 9 containers over TWO WEEK period.

Now - for the record - I'm not suggesting F2P tankers should have free access to Shop items.

I'm saying the Devs suggestion that we now do have free access to Shop items is simply misleading...

Hey!

Why do you think so? Only one way of getting tankoins was introduced and others are coming...

It also takes time to earn crystals to buy any turret or any hull using crystals and for "premium" currency as tankoins it of course should take even more time.

How did the situation change for "non-buyers"?

Before the update: There is no way to buy items from the Shop

After the update: There is a way to buy items from the Shop

Isn't this good?

Takes me 1-2 months to save up to buy an m3 module, depending on sales and how much I play.  So don't try to compare that to how long it will take F2P tankers to buy anything other than 1 container with free tankoins.  Poor choice of comparison on your part.

Spin it any way you want.

If it takes 2 years to save enough coins to buy something from the Shop - we effectively do not have access to the Shop.

Sir, the weekly containers are NOT the only way to get Tankoins, believe me. And to prove this take a look at this contest.

If you take part in contests and as Marcus said some events, eSports tournaments, etc... you will manage to get a decent amount of TKs per month :)

So 3 players can get a modest (yes 200 coins is modest) return.  THREE out of... 15k?  20k?  (who knows how many players there actually are...)

esports, events, Challenges ... I get it - they want ppl to become no-lifers and live TO 24/7.

Yeah, the first 2 can buy a container (or 2 when 50%) or 3k crystals (or 6k crystals if 50% shop reduction). The third one GB (or 2 with 50%).

I would aim for the battle pass, just to try one time :)

TankiKoins do open the Shop, but the options are limited, and they should otherwise you can just remove it. Only kid would thinks they would be able to buy the most expensive item in the shop. That is why when they see that they can;t they get frustrated and deceived (unless you are an eternal optimist).

Hey

Do you still count only tankoins from weekly containers? Let's see how many tankoins it will be possible to get from challenges.

That's not true. Once again, previously you had no changes to get Shop items without paying cash and now you can do it.

Yes, it takes some time. BUT. If prices are lower, or it is possible to get more tankoins, it will be easy to buy everything and the game will not survive without donations.

I never said the game could survive without donations.

Nor was I saying F2P tankers should get access to Shop.  What I am saying is we realistically do not have access with the little amount of coins doled out.  It's a token gesture TO is trying to squeeze some goodwill out of - something that was implemented for MOBILE users.

"If prices are lower..."    What?   They just RAISED prices.  What leads you to believe they would actually lower them?

Tanki is a company that wants and needs profits. And companies decide to raise or lower prices for whatever reason and whenever they want. If you don't like the higher prices, you have the option to not buy.

Maybe one of the reasons for higher prices is that they have to give Google a cut when players buy in Tanki Mobile.

I think Tanki should have different prices for Toins in the Browser version... lower prices. Unless it goes against Google rules. Mobile players will say it's unfair, but we know it isn't, because it's like a Google tax, and they could have the option to purchase in the Browser version.

Or they lower the prices and absorb the costs, because from players perspectives they'll all be spending the same.

If tanki kept the prices as they are , or even lowered prices , the economy of the game will be damaged a lot , since tankoins help you to buy items without spending real money.

If they just drop the prices , or keep them as they are , it will be easy to get everything and players will get bored from the game as soon as possible

If they had not raised prices it would still be difficult (aka take a very long time) to save up enough free coins to actually buy something worthwhile.

To buy anything significant in THIS LIFETIME from the Shop, players will still have to invest real $$.  Free coins only subsidize that a little bit.
