Let's Discuss In-game Currency!

Recommended Posts

With the release of tankoins, I think it's time that in game currency get their very own topic. Here are the following currencies that exist in the game:

· Crystals (primary) - used in the garage. Can be obtained by finishing battles, completing missions, doing challenges, opening containers.

· Tankoins (secondary) - used in the shop. Can be obtained by completing challenges and weekly missions.

· Stars (tertiary) - used in challenges. Can be obtained by finishing battles with enough score and completing missions.

· Shards - used to obtain containers. Can be earned throughout the day, watching mobile ads, and complete daily missions.

So what are your thoughts on the in game currency? Does more currency provide more variety? :)

I like 2 monetary currencies in a game. Any more is pushing the limit and too complicated. BTW you could add EXP to that list, since it isnt quite the same as battle points.

I want to buy something that costs 50. But I need to buy the new currency in order to do that. But I can only buy 100 worth of new currency at a time. Once I have purchased the new currency and bought the item I wanted, I still have 50 left of the new currency. Since it is non-refundable, I am forced to spend the remaining 50 on something in-game. So in essence, I am spending 100 no matter what I use the new currency for, even if I only wanted to spend an exact amount and no more.

Or you save it and build it up.

BTW, how's the process in buying? Is it a lot less annoying?

Same. But WAY easier once you have TKs.

So instead of going through the process several times just to get several items, you just go through it once to get the TKs and then just buy the items you want with those?

Yes! So now it is either Crystals (for items through the garage) or TK for most items in the shop - and you won't need to pay through a service.

They used free TKs as an excuse to raise shop item prices... but for players like me who rarely play MM, it's essentially just higher prices. So, um... Tanki got another new wave of players to quit. I'm semi-joining them :P

i miss the days when u could buy cupid kit for 18 NZD, but now that same item is worth 21 - 23 NZD, matrix kit's former price (23 NZD). dark energy kit isn't affected tho  :P

u want to make money, tanki? why not lower the prices so more people can buy it

higher prices = less people buying it. lower prices = more people buying it and getting potentially some more money. prices * amount of people buying it = more profit  -_-

now i have to fork out more money just for the same/similar item in tanki. but by raising the prices, they are making the battle pass more affordable, which is good? containers are losing their value, so are crystals, so the battle pass gives u 4 containers instead of 1 container for completing a container reward challenge.

my tips for getting better stuff? get the battle pass. the investment is worth it!  :)

also the battle pass comes with premium, so u can get 6 stars instead of 3, which gets u past the first stage of the challenge  :)  :)

the bad thing is, it only lasts for 3 days, so u have to stay up real late to make a difference in the challenge  -_-

p.s (last thing) i got alien nebula bc of premium and battle pass  ;)

A topic to be remembered by...

Cost of life increase every year as money lose value, cost has to increase on regular basis. Nothing new here.

You can buy the Koins on PC now and use them during shop discount in the future, either on mobile of PC with no cost difference. On top of what you can top up with the small amount of your Koins earned in game.

In Murikan now. ;)

Here's what he says.

Living costs increase every year as inflation occurs, and therefore Tanki has to increase it's costs to continue earning an equivalent amount.

You can buy TKs now, and add the ones you bought together with some you earned in game to acquire shop items during sales.

Perhaps they've already recorded an equilibrium price and floats their prices around that while adjusting for inflation?

Yes, but too much currency makes the game too confusing for new players. I actually played a game that had like 50 currencies and it was so headache-inducing.

I suggest the maximum currencies Tanki should ever get is around 5 - We now have four currencies (I don't really consider "Battle Points" to be a currency, as it's not kept in your account for a prolonged period of time. It's just a battle mechanic honestly).

I remember in 2015 and before, though of the complaints by me about the P2W (and I was right)... I was compliment the game a lot also in that time, as it differ from many games as it has only one currency "Crystals". I was compliment the game between my friends, that whatever the game is a P2W or not, we only have one currency not like many games who have a 2 currencies one is easy to obtain and the seconds is extremely hard to obtain like CoC and I respect this thing from Tanki.

And to be honest that thing was must to be respected and was one of the most Tanki characters, that we only have one currency and everything is a directly obtainable. And I remember SemyonKirov said in 2014 that "The character in Tanki that distinguish it from most of other games, that every player can reach the highest thing in Tanki even without paying".

But now we have 2 currencies Crystals&Tankoins, now Tanki is no differ from any other game. An easy obtainable currency "Crystals", and a very hard to obtain "Tankoins".. And even the worst thing that there are a things that are only obtainable with Ultra Containers..

Though the very low percentage of getting them by the limited UC, they at least left a last string for the foolis* players who love to beat the drum and fighting against anyone who said Crisis drone or EMP Gauss isn't an obtainable by F2P.. So they're fighting us always that they're obtainable, though I'm myself Asem, haven't get neither Crisis or Gauss EMP though I hope to get them both..! But what I can do with those players? Should I consider it's an obtainable for me?

Yeah, battle points isn't really a currency, I just put it there because at the time, it felt low to make a topic on in game currencies with just 3.
