Low ranks vs High ranks

Recommended Posts

As most of you have probably noticed, a lot of people on the forums are between WO1 (a low rank), and Legend (the highest rank). But there are massive differences between the 2 ranks, and I'm going to list some differences about low ranked people and high ranked people.

1. Not rotating your turret at low ranks is OK, but at high ranks, you have to rotate your turret to do well. This is true to almost every Legend ranked tanker. I have my "career" in Tanki planned out, but I'm not used to rotating my turret. I know how to do it, but I don't exactly know how to control my tank with my turret rotated. This is because I have had less than a whole entire month of continuous playing time on all my accounts. It's not even a whole week's worth of playing Tanki back to back! But anyways, the point to saying that is: unless you learn how to rotate your turret properly, getting to Legend will be a nightmare.

2. Alterations are rare at low ranks, while nearly everyone has them at higher ranks. I know this, because I have seen a lot of Legends, either on Youtube or on the forums (this is my highest ever ranked account btw). It's because towards legend ranks, alterations become more OP, but also the first "lot" of alterations that is unlocked is at Master Sergeant, and they are crazy expensive and not worth it at a lower ranks' perspective.

3. "Cool" paints at lower ranks is the normal paint for higher ranks. A lot of people are thinking at my rank: "Synthesia is cool!" or "Eternity is cool! How do I get that?". Have you seen a player at lower ranks have any legendary paints? If you had, comment below the players username and the paint. "Cool" paints at higher ranks are the newest animated paints, like Thankos or Radar, I'm pretty sure, but I don't know for sure.

4. High GS at low ranks is around 4000 GS and at high ranks, high GS is 9000+. This means that quite a lot of new players are massive noobs, but a lot doesn't mean all. Also, tornado kit gets you 4500+ GS, but it's actually quite easy to defeat unless it's has been micro-upgraded to M3.

5. High ranked people don't get too much time battling, either because they're moderators/administrators, parkourists, or in the case of some people, including @Hate , both. And they also mainly play PRO battles. This means that a lot of people at high ranks can be hard to predict if they're pros, average or noobs at Tanki. This can lead to mixed decisions on their skill at higher ranks, if you meet them in the MM system.

6. Low ranks always have product kits that come out that week, while high ranks is a mix of M2/M3/M4 equipment. This is quite true. When the Matrix kit showed up in the garage, everyone went for it. When Predator kit showed up in the garage, yet again, everyone went for it. When the Hammer of Thor and Corsair kits showed up in the garage, everyone bought them, yet again! Ranks higher than Colonel, however, have a mix of M2/M3/M4 equipment, though, and not always a product kit.

Example of a low rank: @Im_a_tanki_master

Example of a high rank: @Maf

Bonus note: The biggest noobs don't even know about the forum, so, if you're reading this, you can be a noob, but not one of the biggest noobs, because, you know about the forum!

That's all! Comment your thoughts below, if they're true or false, or other discussion to this topic. P.S this is only part 1 of the "Low ranks vs High ranks" topics I will be doing.

Not true. You can not rotate your turret and still place top just by killing in the high ranks. Because max-levelled Drones exist. And OP alterations exist. As well as turrets that are clearly more powerful than (I think) it should be.

I guarantee you that in every battle I play, there is at least one player who does not rotate their turret. In Legend battles, I see this happening with Vikings and Hunters the most, with the turrets being Thunder, Ricochet, Twins, Hammer, Firebird and Freeze. I've also seen magnums that don't even turn their turret at all, but just use different velocities. That is quite saddening seeing that as a Magnum player.

If you have a turret that can one-shot most hulls, you wouldn't require skills in turret rotation if you can just point your gun at the enemy with your hull. It's not a nightmare if you're using what's clearly overpowered or unbalanced.

2. Alterations are rare at low ranks, while nearly everyone has them at higher ranks. I know this, because I have seen a lot of Legends, either on Youtube or on the forums (this is my highest ever ranked account btw). True.

Some of the alterations available from - are really great. Like Minus-Field Stabilisation, Supercumulative Rounds , Slugger (after the buff, because before the buff, that turret rotation was dead slow on lower modifications), Dragon's Breath, and Missile Launcher "Hunter".

If you can stick to one combo, and a sa bonus, complete all of your missions and be lucky in container, they shouldn't be too expensive.

3. "Cool" paints at lower ranks is the normal paint for higher ranks. A lot of people are thinking at my rank: "Synthesia is cool!" or "Eternity is cool! How do I get that?". I've seen some animated paints in the low ranks (around ). Some of them had epic paints that were only available during challenges.

Different players like different paints. I prefer to have darker paints and some of the early paints look really nice and I like to wear them. Thankos looks ugly to me. New animated paints look lovely but not all of them.

Different GS scores correspond to particular equipment modifications. Let's look at the extremes:

2,100 GS corresponds to having M1 equipment

4,400 GS corresponds to having M2 equipment.

~7,000 GS corresponds to having M3 equipment.

~9,400 GS corresponds to having M4 equipment.

From M1 onward, it is assumed that each player has 40 of every supply sans batteries, as well as having a drone that is not upgraded many times equipped.

I'd say Tornado is easy to defeat because it's using a hull that is slippery and has little HP, susceptible to being one-shotted by many things, ESPECIALLY in the middle ranks, where a lot of the imbalance between equipment is. But XP in the higher ranks?

Wow, so I had the entire thing written out but for some reason, it stopped auto-saving up to what you see above and when I tried to post the entire thing, it wouldn't put it, even when I reloaded. However, it posted the incomplete auto-saved version. I'll add the others later.

I got Matrix paint at Sergeant Major on one of my accounts, and Spectrum on that account less than a month later.

My first account got Beating Hearts at a low rank, but that was before I started writing down what I get from containers.

(All of my accounts got Smoky / Hunter to M1/10 as soon as they could. Getting Smoky to M1/10 at WO1 without buying isn't difficult.)

Funny that you used Hate as an example, since he's actually one of the few helpers who's completed every single challenge so far

That's how it's meant to be. Well, not the OP part, since all alts are intended to be balanced with one another instead of making the turret stronger. But their intention is to give you a slightly alternative play style without needing to buy a whole new turret. So yes, low ranks didn't play long enough to get bored of their standard turret, therefore they do not need to buy alterations.

That's all! Comment your thoughts below, if they're true or false, or other discussion to this topic. P.S this is only part 1 of the "Low ranks vs High ranks" topics I will be doing.

I'd rather you keep it all in one topic and just edit the first post.

ok ..we have  many legends , including myself who don't turn there turrets. for good reason's . someone did a test run on how fast it turned them vs not and it turns out not turning them was a few seconds faster. which I enjoy not having to turn them I do get kills , its more on how much experience you have in battles and which turrets to use. this was done about 4 years ago or more.

# 5 ... legends do battle in MM , it really depends on the battles and time zones. for being admin or mods not everyone is one.. including myself, been here 6 years and still not a staff member.

for the paints who cares what you wear. paints have no value other then in the gear score. its better not to buy into paints you save a bunch of crystals to be spend more on alterations or drones plus upgrades, when you really need them..

I have many accounts and do play with lower ranks .

also I post in the forum and many call me the biggest Noob in the game ..

I don't think you can compare low rank battles vs high rank battles. There's so much difference between them. Skill of the payer is one thing, but the equipment is another thing. I'm used to Firebird M4, but I can't play my Firebird M1 at my low account the same way as I'm playing the M4 version. I'm trying to play the same style, but turning the turret at M1 takes ages.

It's true you don't see alterations at lower accounts, but lately it looks like I've seen less alterations at Legend battles as well. But the same counts for protection modules, you don't see them that often at lower ranks.

Lower ranks could use some better paints indeed. Most tanks are still green, and not that colourfull

Yay I'm not the only WO1 on the forum :D

I knew you as a sergeant-major on another account:

Low rank is below 3rd Lieutenant

Ah yes, I certainly remember you :) , long time no see, we've both prospered

this is the second time i've been online since the Flow paint went out... the first time since then was an hour earlier.

5000 posts away from breaking a tanki world record, you are!

Too bad my Fire and Wasp club got closed, I'm gonna ask @Zekrom to start a new related topic to that.

@Maf Shapiro STRIKES AGAIN by DESTROYING another player with facts that nobody even knew

I love those video titles lol - especially since he sometimes specifically says that he doesn't want it posted saying he destroyed yet another student, and they post it with that title anyways :P

Looks like what I auto-saved isn't there anymore. So I'll just copy paste the rest of it that I saved to a Word Document:

5. High ranked people don't get too much time battling, either because they're moderators/administrators, parkourists, or in the case of some people, including @Hate , both. Not sure about this one and I can't give input to this. Anyone who doesn't rotate their turret up here usually exhibits traits of an average player or below in my experience.

6. Low ranks always have product kits that come out that week, while high ranks is a mix of M2/M3/M4 equipment. This is quite true. When the Matrix kit showed up in the garage, everyone went for it. Not...particularly true. Each turret and hull has a different rank unlock for their M2 modifications. But you wouldn't find mixes of M1, M2 and M3 product kits. The only time they'd converge in the garage is at - . However, it must be noted that these specific kits during those 3 ranks do not contain exclusively M2 equipment. At least one of the components are at M1.
