Express your blind absolute rage of the overpowered Hunter Tank

While were modifying OD let's...

- Remove Hornet ability to ignore protections, and make it 15 seconds

You'll see flocks of players coming to the Forum complaining about Hornet's Overdrive being useless or made useless, especially the ones that use it with Railgun, Firebird and Thunder. 

 

- Make Viking OD give (2x faster reload than stock) OR boost damage by 75% for all DPS turrets for 15 seconds

You listed nerfs for the other Overdrive but this one sounds like a really big buff for the melee turrets.

nope. ur wrong. hunter is op. reduce the range, make the player able to use supplies immediately after unfrozen. dont remove the supplies that get cancelled. I dont get enough supplies from these ******ed weekly conts to replenish as it is without hunters stupid overdrive.

This just sounds /under/powered.

We are qualified to decide. All nonbuyers agree that hunter is stupid since it removes our hard earned supplies. It's annoying as .

Except for the occasional Battle Pass, I am F2P.

 

My lowest supply is Repair Kits, of which I have ~2,800. My next lowest is Double Armor, of which I'm getting really close to 6,000.

Oh for sure they would complain.  But that was a proportional response to the poster - you see all the nerfs requested for Hunter?  I'm not sure anything was left...

 

Does Viking OD not already give them a damage boost since they can't get faster reload? 

To be clear _ I don't mean on top of what the OD already does - i mean as a replacement...

Yes.

I mean, 15 seconds is just over double 7 seconds. That's more than enough to clear a base.

 

You mentioned that the firing rate be increased, which I think implies that the damage boost isn't there? So melee turrets would be so much better than the other turrets as they get a damage boost, as well as double the Overdrive duration.

 

 

 

 

Actually, scratch that above. I just fully understood what I think you're trying to say. Currently, the melee turrets get a 200% damage boost (triple damage). A 75% damage boost would be just below double damage. I guess this can be balanced, although players would prefer faster kills than slower drawn-out ones. 

 

I decided I'd show you what I was thinking before I read what you were saying correctly.

 

Since the non-DPS turrets would be missing out on a lot of damage, you could increase the Overdrive charge rate a good bit.

If the problem is hunter shutting down an entire team, why not limit the OD so that only a max of 3 tanks can be stunned? Since hunters mostly stun 1-2 players at a time, it’s not that bad of a nerf and would stop an entire base being destroyed by just one tank.

 

As for removing supplies, I really don’t think this makes hunters OD op IMO. Hornet’s makes a DA useless and Viking pretty much kills you regardless of what supplies you use. And they are not limited to 22m....

Don't really feel the nature of this forum was discussed all that well.

 

Some very lazy misrepresented views that don't really address the issues.

 

The only games that I can effectively counter Hunter's disgusting overdrive is Deathmatch. I stalk hunters, wait for them to use their overdrive, still their kills, kill them. I've done it incredibly well on several maps. There are the odd maps that don't favour this approach based on the turret you are using to stalk the hunter in deathmatch but yeah.

 

The games that I now find unbearable... are assault, rugby, and capture the flag. If I play assault as blue... ok. This is just teamdeathmatch and I can enjoy it. But play red on assault tends to be a waste of time unless my team is overpowered and they dont have hunters or the opponents just suck at playing blue. Rugby is a write off. So is capture the flag. Hunters OD abuses the system to harshly.

 

I don't play juggernaut. And I don't like deathmatch despite hunter not being an issue in deathmatch for me anymore.

 

The two game modes that I still enjoy are CP and TDM.

 

Unfortunately it isn't really enough. The other hulls sure.. have their thing. But they don't abuse game machanics forcing opponents to drop flags and drop rugby.

 

Other games provide more entertainment. Just gonna wait out the hunter nerf. The game for me has lost the appeal.

Try using Hornet with Smoky. I know, we shouldn't be adapting our play style just because of ODs, but that's Tanki for now.

Try using Hornet with Smoky. I know, we shouldn't be adapting our play style just because of ODs, but that's Tanki for now.

You totally should change your play style for ODs, they are game changing.

Nope. To be fair, I've tried different combos. It isn't that I'm not good... in my view. I do pretty good in games historically and to some extent even now.

 

In some small way... this is nitpicking, while at the same time not. Without knowing behind the scenes whats happening obv I cant say much concretely. Is constant sales and double funds every weekend a sign of bad things? Are the player counts dropping? I dunno. But I have decided to drop tanki, at this point its beyond trying new things. I did that years ago. I tried out fast hulls short range turrets, long range turrets strong hulls, medium hulls with all turrets. and reverse combos like fire titan and isida titan. Thunder wasp. I did that experimentation already. And sure I could do it again... but the law of diminishing returns applies here. It is long past worth it. The game does not equal entertainment. And the dialogue in forums compared to games ive been involved with elsewhere is significantly lacking.

 

They just announced how they are constantly fixing things in game or something like a few days. Made a few adjustment to magnum etc whatever else. And nothing about hunter? It is pure incompetence on some level... I mean it must be. Funny enough, in order to give them credit I have to say its incompetence. Because otherwise, it is something much much worse. I get hunter is garbage hull. They had to make it good. But meh.

 

I've basically already stopped all my accounts over the last year except one was trying to fight it through. Sometimes a second. But it just isn't worth it anymore.

 

Come back in months or years who knows. Hunter will get nerfed. And then just see whats become of the game.

I somewhat agree, the new Tanki forces you to be a camper. If you play with a close range turret you’ll be zapped by Hunters or one shot by Gauss, and the rest.

I played a DM game and got "Huntered" I think five times in a row....went from doing well to five deaths quickly...nothing I could do. I would say I love hunter's overdrive but maybe slow it down a bit like Viking's so it cant be used so often

Thanks to Hunter's OD, now all I play with is Hunter lol.

 

Maybe TO wanted to boost Hunter's popularity by giving it this OD? Idk ....

 

But I do love the OD, pretty useful in CTF & Assault battles against hostile flag carriers :)

You play PB no-supplies with no ODs as well because of Hunter?  Really?

 

In PB-no-supplies it's Dictator that creates the win.  With-out supply you can't win without AT LEAST 1 dictator.  Played plenty and team that has 0 or only 1 usually loses.

 

You really need a combination of ODs though.  Without a Titan you are also unlikely to win.   Of course a lot depends on the maps too...

It is disgusting that you can be saving up your titan or viking overdrive for a vital moment in the game, only for a hunter to not only disable it, but make your overdrive counter go back down to zero.

 

When this happens I usually light up the chat with banned words.

It’s op until dictator activated his od after you do lol.

How is that any different from a Hornet-Rail with OD that can 1-shot any medium hull in the game?

 

Can even 1-shot a damaged Titan inside it's Dome.

The hunter is a much better hull statwise...Hornet's OD turns it into an offensive glass cannon. Lots of damage but its still hornet...dies to everything. Hunter has the second best stats in most people's opinions (given the number of hulls being medium and hunter right after viking), and add an overdrive that can nuke an entire base

Yeah, so I'm finding the interactive amount in a game is oppositely related to the number of hunters. I just played a game and got huntered 4 times...theres nothing I could do, right? Hornet takes skill....wasp and mamoth take a lot of skill to not waste. Hunter just presses shift and welp you are dead....there's no thought/skill. So lame

Well Hunter has to get close right?  Plus there's a 1-second delay before it actually activates and can be killed during that time.

 

Hornet can activate OD under cover, pop out and kill ANY medium tank in sight, well out of range of many turrets, then hide again.

 

What do you mean Hunter presses shift and you are dead?  Still has to damage you - 3 seconds.  Some turrets can do it, some can't.

 

 

This thread is silly.  You hate Hunter OD.  I think Hornet OD is ridiculous.  No one wins these arguments.
