Overdrive Negater Drone

I actually have an idea for a new drone.the new drone is named:overdrive negater and his special ability is that if youe enemy does the overdrive near you you can activate this drone and it gives you double armor double damage and double speed for a short time.it costs 100000 crystals.

Actually quite an interesting drone idea. Not the part with activating supplies though, since that barely helps against any of the ODs, but the part with resisting overdrives. I think the way it should be is once you are affected by an enemy overdrive, the drone activates (and then goes for, say, a 40 sec recharge) and then you are either completely immune to the OD effect for 3 seconds, or the effect is reduced for a longer period of time.

 

Examples of immunity:

Wasp - no damage from bomb

Hornet - the enemy Hornet doesn't shoot through your armour (and maybe doesn't see your marker)

Viking - you take 80% less damage from the Viking's shots (so it's the same as when there's no OD)

Hunter - the OD does not affect you at all
Dictator - you do not get frozen

Titan - you are able to shoot through the shield

Mammoth - you are not affected by the AT field

 

Examples of reduced effect:

Wasp - less damage from bomb
Hornet - your DA/module is not completely ignored
Viking - 50% less damage from shots
Hunter - your supplies are gone, but you do not get frozen or drop the flag

Dictator - freezing effect is less
Titan - the shield doesn't protect as well from your shots

Mammoth - the AT field does less damage

 

But to be honest, implementing all these nuances for every single overdrive definitely seems like way too much work for adding just a single new drone.

Even if you would add such a drone (maybe you can upgrade levels of immunity, to go from reduced effect to immunity) don't think you can equate ODs that have different charging speeds to all have the same level of immunity (think ++Viking).


Also-the Titan's dome should be ignored-since the tank is already getting instantly repaired, half of the protection, is a lot closer to the full overdrive, than the 50% you gave for Viking OD.

Yeah I hope Alternativa won't implement that kind of drone. That Drone idea is P2W. And Overdrive is for everyone, from F2P to heaviest buyer. Adding that will destroy the game further. Overdrives already have counters themselves.

Don't tell them it's a bad idea because they like implementing bad ideas. Instead say it's a good idea, so they ignore it... that's what Maf is doing, he knows.

Good idea. How about a drone that gives any hull 10 seconds of immortality? That would be better.

We already have a drone that has something close to this, Defender. 

 

At 20/20, you take 50% damage from enemies for 20 seconds. That is really powerful and you can capture flags continuously even when you're under fire from the entire enemy team. Met one the other day and we just couldn't stop him from capturing until my Hornet's Overdrive was charged and available to use on him. 

 

That drone that you're suggesting would be more versatile than a Mammoth. You won't kill people you touch but taking 0 damage for 10 seconds will just unfair to fight against.

At 20/20, you take 50% damage from enemies for 20 seconds. That is really powerful and you can capture flags continuously even when you're under fire from the entire enemy team. Met one the other day and we just couldn't stop him from capturing until my Hornet's Overdrive was charged and available to use on him.

Really?  20 seconds?   And that is in addition to regular DA?

Yeah, 20 seconds. When they buffed it, and I saw 20 seconds, I thought that they immediately overdid it. 20 seconds is 2/3 of the supply duration. That's a long time. I wasn't exactly sure what 200% did but from experience with that one player, it decreases your damage by 50%, and then an additional 5% from the drone's passive defence. 

 

We could not stop him, he was also the first Hunter Prime I saw. He just waltzed in our base and when I hit him with double damage, it did ~800 damage, when it should have done double that. I had to shut him down twice with my Overdrive. It was sort of like one of those helpless moments where you can only watch as they escape with your flag because your team doesn't have the firepower to take them down. 

 

So basically, you get quadruple protection with this drone, and double protection without it.

Yes, fully. I couldn't take him down without it.

A max-levelled Defender drone, when activated, should give you an ~75-80% protection module against everything. This also stacks (most likely multiplicatively) with the protection module that you have equipped. So if the player has 50% protection against you, and a max-levelled Defender drone active, you'd better just shoot someone else. Like I said, you're just helpless unless you have Hornet or Hunter's Overdrive ready. 

 

Sadly, I didn't get to test if a pre-buff max-levelled Defender drone could tank a Wasp bomb at the epicentre of the blast. It most likely could have with an M4 heavy hull. I don't quite understand Wasp's bomb damage and what affects it. I can't really tell if double armour makes a difference or not.
