I say yes, because of the different end-game equipment people have that can take care of me so quickly/make them unkillable. Granted, the M1/2 ranks have more noticeable imbalance between turrets and hulls.

The account I enjoy playing on the most is currently my lowest account at

I think it's the opposite. As soon as you get a couple full M4 combos, you will be able to compete on the same level as the "buyers", and there is no way for them to get a significant advantage over you anymore unless devs implement another new feature like drones.

Meanwhile, the battles themselves are a lot more fun due to the overall higher skill level of the players, so you can actually expect some decent teamwork despite playing with random teammates. And of course everything is just physically faster due to higher movement speeds and firing rates.

I say its the opposite as well, once you have M4 equipment and a healthy amount of supplies you dont need to worry about running against someone who's way more powerful than you are, its mostly a game of skill.

The mid-ranks are the roughest where there are opponents with 1-2 modifications higher than you are and you have to grind one combo as an F2P player.

M4 equipment and at least 1 or 2 MUs on your drones are crucial to get an advantage against buyers at the higher ranks.

I'd say yes because not only that more exploits happen up here, but also because the gameplay up here must take into account turrets, hulls, over drives, supplies, drones, alterations, protection modules, etc. Whereas in beginner and low ranks, you would only need to worry about turrets, hulls, and over drives, and the occasional player that uses supplies, protection modules, early drones and alterations.

Also in MM beginner and low ranked battles seem to be way more balanced than the ones in the high ranks.

M4s yes, but drones are just a nice bonus. I'm getting by just fine without a single one.

1 or 2? My drones have 1 or 2 MUs and they hardly make a difference.

At high ranks , you fight the same equipment and people do know the maps very good . Buyers have nearly 0 advantage over free players . Drones are the only difference , since they do cost a lot of batteries . However the difference of a fully equiped drone is noticable , it is not a game changer . The skills of a player are the things which do make the difference .

In lower ranks , a high skilled player , can make up for the difference in equipment vs a buyer but the team will suffer a lot more .

So no , higher ranked battles are not less fun then lower ranked ones .

It really turned the other way around suddenly. High ranks are fun because most of the road to legend alts die out in warrant officer ranks.

The teamwork is on average pretty good in higher ranks, sometimes that good that you pull off a comeback in the last 30 seconds of the match from a reasonable lagging flag difference, while other times its that bad that you see mammoth's capturing flags with nos. Players tend to have skill and often, win or lose, the games are a good experience. The GS is on average pretty good in both sides, rarely do I see 6000 GS players. Mostly it's 9000+, and 9000+ is enough to have a shot at the battle.

Supplies, though, is a must to enjoy in higher ranks. Everyone is drugging... the first thing players hit after spawning is a supply. If you don't have supplies surviving off of drops isn't really possible.

It seems so. What do you guys have to say?

I agree.  It's more of a grind - slogging away for missions that have ridiculous parameters.

Plus... as soon as you hit Gismo, your m3+ combo won't help much while most of your enemies have a full garage - includng 50% protection against all the turrets you might have.

It takes 3-4 Legend ranks before you are on more even footing.

My mid-level account is much more fun to play...

Yes

When I was in lower ranks I could 1 or 2 shot kill enemies with my Railgun as they had less supplies & less protection from Railgun. Now even with my M4 combo, it's hard to make kills without drugs as players are drugging heavily & they have a strong protection against my turret  :(

I used to love playing battles at low ranks, now that i'm legend I cant stand playing even one. I didn't have to use hardly as many drugs as I have to with higher ranks. I also remember actually having team-work, when team-mates would actually talk in chat and come up with plans. Higher ranks? Na, All I see is others calling others noobs or "hhhhhhh". I usually stick to pro-battles now where I don't have to drug every second of the game to get a decent spot on the leader-board.

Your rank is a bit of an awkward one, its where you're stuck with one combo that has too many protections against it and you're up against Legends while not being able to afford supplies.

Things will get better once you start saving up for supplies and get a couple more M4 turrets in a few ranks time.

If you ask me, Battles are the same in all ranks. It just depends on our Interest, Motivation and the kind of battle we play including it's players, etc.

M4 equipment and at least 1 or 2 MUs on your drones are crucial to get an advantage against buyers at the higher ranks.

Most drones are absolutely useless with less than 10 MUs. They all use batteries at the same rate regardless of upgrade level, so you're better off just upgrading your other equipment while saving up batteries, and then start using a drone once you have it upgraded to at least 10 steps. Drones as a whole are a very late-game feature, when you have nothing else left to buy.

I didn't really know how many steps, so I said 1 or 2.

So there seems to be two perspectives here. One, which I currently have, is that the large number of modules, drones and upgraded equipment you face at higher ranks makes it much harder to get kills and thus enjoy battles. You often end up with only 5exp. you get from assist kills.

The other view which has been expressed is that there's less disparity between buyers and non-buyers and thus battles are more fair. I can agree with that, it's a really good point, but I don't think it's that simple and here's why I believe so:

For starters, even if you do reach a high rank and buy several m3 stuff, you'll face many players with m4 equipment. Then you'll upgrade your equipment to m4 as well, but you'll face many players with powerful drones, so then you'll get yourself a drone and upgrade it, but you'll still find yourself in a situation where your powerful tank is being faced against many players with 50% protection modules. Aha, now we get to the point where you can't do much about this. Change the turret, but you'll still encounter 45-50% modules, and this in my opinion is what makes battles very boring the higher you rank.

Low rank battles may often be unfair, but in my opinion, high rank battles just can't provide you with much entertainment anymore, especially after challenges were introduced.

Every ranks battle are fine.
Each ranks brings a different aspect, the lack of expertise and strategy at low ranks, makes it easy for experienced player, so they should have fun topping the table score and get many friend request. I do remember when I started fresh noob, and having fun trying to sort out the what and the how.

The difficult part was to get the middle ranks facing stronger opponent than the average, but the hard work to save enough for the product kit that would make you going on top made the patience paid. Being weaker make you smarter and more careful. In the end it was actually fun and rewarding.

Legend battle are fun too, more experience, better team organisation. By this time you should have stopped engaging in combat mode that are not fun for you and continue playing the one you think are fun.

New combat mode make it fun, any ranks.

Yes, they can be. You just really need to focus your crystals in the right places.
