What's up with players at M2+ ranks who have M0s and a handful or M1s (at best)?

You have probably seen these easy targets before. They stick out like sore thumbs, with their struggling to get a kill, dying in a blink of an eye, and full M0s at a battle with druggie M2s or higher.

From what I've seen, they are much more prevalent now than ever before. I don't know if it's because of my rank, or it's just a 2019 thing.

These types of players are puzzling yet interesting. I've seen quite a few lately, these players being: AR77, Q001, BarmenArmen0, zzzx6, adolf77, Vladimir570, Ciro_del_Peru, radhi888, markos841, elektrohelfer, and yy8y56r6chvjzx.

This topic is for discussing these types of players, as well as sharing examples of them.

Better question is what's up with these Legends using M0/1/2 equipment?

I had more but can't find them. Those include a guy at Legend using M3 Autocannon Smoky and M2 Hornet. Many others with M1 Viking, and Tores, whom you can find in another thread.

As someone who did stick with M1s for the most part of my time playing this game, I believe I can vouch for most of the players who still use M0s and M1s at the ranks in which they are supposed to be rocking M2s.

To add a bit more to this, the very first M2 I purchased was when I reached Major, and that was back in about 2014.

Now there is a variety of reasons why a player may be unable to purchase M2s at the designated ranks that they are supposed to get them, but just like the user above said: it's most likely an old player from back when it was nearly impossible to get M2s unless you really grinded and worked for them or you always had a good streak of games.

During the time when I was in the Lieutenant ranks (early 2014), most of my games were infested with players who were P2W and had overpowered kits and a boatload of supplies to use in their arsenal. Unfortunately for me, I always ended up on the opposing team, which pretty much made it difficult to earn crystals since they, the P2W players, would win by a huge margin and take most of the fund. It was fun playing against them and to try and beat them, but the key factor in determining who would win was who had the stronger tanks- even if you are "highly skilled," you cannot win against these players because they simply needed to press the magic numbers (234) and go ham on attacking. The only other method we could gain crystals were through daily missions, but it was still a challenge to complete them.

Outplaying other players mostly occurs in the high ranks, and that's because there is nearly no difference in tanks anymore--everyone has M3s.

That being said, it was not difficult saving up crystals. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it takes time for these players to earn these crystals. Specially now, where their tanks are living in the past, it's no longer possible to catch up with modern day Tanki.  In today's Tanki, earning crystals longer that big of a challenge because the game literally spoon-feeds players everything they can get to have a decent garage by whatever rank they are in. I believe if the game had containers, cosmetics, and other bunch of goodies five years ago, the game would have been more, "alive" today so to speak.

Alternatively, there is also another reason why these players cannot catch up on getting M2s - they could simply be casual players just playing with no goal nor objective in mind. They're just here for fun, and do not care at all about being all competitive in their garage.
