Mammoth's overdrive and new update

The only complaint I have regarding this update is the nerfing of Striker Uranium. It already provided enough challenges with the increased lock time and slower speed of the missiles. Now cutting the missiles in half  (2) will make it basically useless. It will become sort of a slower version of Hunter alteration x2. You might want to rethink this one.

How are they continuously buffing Dictator's Overdrive? The last change made for it was the 18th of July. And the one before that was one the 24th of May, which was an effective nerf in some areas.

if i remember correctly the last update to it was another buff that froze enemies, after the one where they made it add 50% to others overdrives. every update to it seems to be a buff as if it wasnt powerful enough.

That was not the last update to it. The update you're talking about (the ability to freeze enemies in the radius) happened all the way back on the 24th of May. Whilst it got that, it also received a 25% range reduction from 20 metres to 15 meters. And considering that you had to get within M0 Firebird/Freeze range to freeze then, you'd be taking damage if they're attacking you which wastes a good bit of your repair kit. Not to mention that Freeze protection protects against it.

The last change made to it was a 25% increase in its range, which put it back to 20 metres. That happened on the 18th of July. So no, they haven't been continuously buffing Dictator's Overdrive.

The 50% Overdrive charge addition is for allies. That doesn't affect the Dictator if it's alone, which puts its freezing mechanic out of use if you're a Dictator that likes to stick with teammates.

Hunter has the weakest overdrive. Why did you nerf it?

Most overdrives can kill as many as are present. At best, EMP keeps one alive in the midst of three or more opponents. After dispatching one, maybe two, they kill you anyway. Hunter range is unbelievably short already. Far too often one or more tanks are out of range when it seems clearly close enough.

Why on earth would you nerf the weakest overdrive?

Hunter may indeed have the weakest overdrive in terms of destructive power, but it is one of the most disruptive overdrives in the game, capable of neutering almost any sort of defense you throw at it, and stopping even the most potent of offense. Even if one were to survive being zapped by a Hunter, the fact that all your supplies are reset means that you're better of self-destructing and getting them back anyway.

It’s both weak and strong, depending on play style, turret and situations.

So I used three hulls yesterday: Mammoth, Titan and Viking (as well as Juggernaut). Here's a short summary of my experience with them in the halloween map.

Titan — I wouldn't say it's the new Mammoth of gold hunting. It's good, but very weak against a number of things, including Mammoth, Hunter, Hornet and even Viking's OD, as well as potentially getting flipped by Juggernaut's OD. Even if none of those things happen, you still have to push your way through other Titans in their domes.

Mammoth — not as bad as people claim it is, and actually more fun that Titan. The best thing about it is getting right in the middle of the drop zone and activating OD when a bunch of "domed" Titans are next to you. They never see it coming, and it's just so satisfying to kill them all. The speed bonus and healing is pretty significant, and I was actually catching golds more frequently with Mammoth than Titan.

Viking — a bit of a wild card, but extremely fun. In fact, I used Viking Thunder combo for the most part yesterday just because of how much fun it is to constantly be using Overdrive while going from one supply box to the next. If there are Hunters on the map, it's amazing when they disable everyone and I just claim all the kills with my OD. A couple times this even led to everyone dying next to the gold, and I just drove up to it and took it. Also cool to just be able to kill Juggernaut anytime like it's no big deal.

Juggernaut — besides just being Juggernaut, it's an interesting challenge to try and catch golds with it, despite the rather tame OD function. Pushing away all the Titans and surviving the rocket is no big deal at all, but the biggest threat is actually from Vikings, who almost always start to target you with their ODs when you go anywhere near the centre. But if you ignore the golds and drive around the map farming kills, it's pretty good for K/D, stars and experience, if that's what you're looking for.

An overdrive doesn't need to kill in order to be OP. Hunter's range was insanely long, and combined with a teammates' firepower a single Hunter could disable the whole team. Would be nice to get battle score for disabling enemies too, but oh well.

If you want to get some kills yourself, I recommend using Magnum with Booster drone. That way you can easily get 4-6 kills from the tanks you disabled if you pre-charge your shot and time the DD well.

you just proved my point. 1+3-2=2

they gave it a buff to remove the same nerf, therefore all the other changes have just been buffs.

You could do that more effectively before magnum splash damage nerf. Gauss would be better choice now because of immense splash dmg range, you can easily take out entire team in ASL mode if you stun them with hunter's OD when they're defending base.

At first glance I was upset that mammoth was changed.  Now after a number of games, all different battle types, I am convinced that mammoth is more powerful.  Very easy to be in top three in all games.  I wish it were still invincible but c'est la vie.

It would be nice to have it still invincible against mines as at least someone could get to heavily mined flags.

Yeah, true. Gauss is a good alternative for this.

And when special event is done?   (why are they ignorng you as you approach drop-zone?)

What specifically makes it more powerful than before?    Full healing on activation << 5 seconds of immortality.

I guess they just didn't see me as a serious enough threat and focused on titans instead. When special event is done it will still be useful in attack and close quarter defence. Like I said, instantly healing 4000 hp is a powerful bonus, especially combined with a drone.

instead of the concern of get or not the extra gold, or the digger or whaever, much worse than that is the groups and teams, and the organized teams, clans or friends, and the no organized battle team, who certainly because quitters do not like the way battle goes against them and leave battle, putting the rest of the team in risk! and that comes from old problem and it is a very big problem and why!!! WHY WHY tankionline do not solve this problem!??? this is the problem... not the stupid gold and the stupid digger, or the invencibility of mammuth!!!!

thanks for mentioning this inappropiate issue. this discussion is about the recent updates/changes, there are other discussion topics where you can express your problems concerning the game

First: Why are you deleting my comment if it´s a true ?

Second and last: Delete that stupid overdrives and give us back old overdrive that is using Dictator.. if you really want to have overdrives in the game..

Yes, but not all of the changes were buffs. And the last one was 4 months ago. So there is nothing new added to it that makes it suddenly more powerful.

Do you think Dictator's Overdrive should be nerfed? And if so, where do you think it should be nerfed?

NO, buff Dictator! Extend the area for sharing the benefit. It is so slow, it is tiring to chase other hull in order to share Dic's OD benefit.

tbh, dictator needs a whole new overdrive cuz it's very boring to play with the current one

no wonder it's the least used hull in game

How do you play with Dictator? Solo or with teammates?

I like the idea of powering up my teammates (as well as myself). The only hassle sometimes is finding the right teammates to use it on. But my self-given role is support, so I like to play Dictator with teammates.

With the exception of meteortite days I'd say Mammoth is the least-used.

Hard to win team battles without at least 1 dictator.

i wonder what type of modules u was using. becise it, i wonder too how u try to acess a blue base, (when it is been defending by titans and isidas), on assault battles, with ur mamuth!!! not relevant wich weaponry u use on it

I have tried Shaft right now and its zooming scope is much better. It makes it easier to aim and target enemies at long range. Thanks for the Shaft scope zoom update.

Shaft? Perhaps you mean Striker? Because Shaft was changed in a previous update, not this one.
