A (different) self-healing for Isida

Recommended Posts

Quite a long time ago, Isida had its vampirism effect removed for balancing reasons. This left Isida as the only close ranged turret without a special (offensive) effect.

Freeze can slow down enemies, Firebird can burn enemies, but Isida only has its slightly higher damage output. I propose that Isida's self-healing effect is reintroduced, but in an entirely different style.

The issue with Isida was that the double damage supply enabled it to trade with any turret effortlessly using its self healing.

I propose that Isida has its self-healing effect reintroduced, but not as an amount of health regained each second. I propose that a player using Isida is rewarded a fixed percentage of their tank's health with each enemy killed. This would give players a real reason to use Isida over Freeze or Firebird in situations where its ability to heal teammates isn't applicable (such as DM battles), but will not make Isida invulnerable.

Perhaps a kill with Isida can reward 25% of your max health back.

So if your hull has 200/2,000 hp and you destroy an enemy, your health jumps to 700.

An assisted kill with Isida could reward 12.5% of your max health back.

This would make Isida that much more viable as an offensive turret.

Will M level affect the percentage of HP regeneration per kill?

But good idea! I will need it!

Hmm...maybe:
M0 - 15% for kill, 7.5% for assist
M1 - 20% for kill, 10% for assist
M2 - 25% for kill, 12.5% for assist
M3 - 30% for kill, 15% for assist

I'm not sure.

*Isida + Viking's Overdrive intensifies*

My idea would have been for it to restore tiny bits of HP while healing allies. Perhaps 10% of each tick of healing as HP regained. That's 480 HP at most for an M4 Isida, and 960 for Support Nanobots Isidas. Because we can't really defend ourselves with -50% damage, so it would give us a little more survivability, as well as giving attacking Isidas incentive to heal allies when out of combat.

It's disheartening when you're burning up and and a Stock Isida practically ignores you and moves past you rather than heal you.

Very nice idea!

You can pretty much tell by name why I created this account. My initial combo was also Viking+Isida, it did quite a good job with old Overdrives but after the release of new Overdrives and Gauss it is really hard to play a supportive role. Almost anyone can kill you or your teammates (you're trying to protect) in an instant with new ODs.

Being a Gauss user now, it really demotivates me more from going back to Isida. I can literally kill a herd of unprotected Isidas along with their teammates within a single sniping shot (and no, even keeping the max distance won't help them from taking the damage).

Being an attacking Isida isn't that bad but why would I choose Isida for that? It sure has highest DPS but you'll only be able to attack one person at a time (with the worst aiming mechanism possible) and running out of ammo soon after that. The only reason to choose Isida over Freeze or Firebird for this purpose is because of less protection modules against it.

How about:

100% kill = 20%

75-99% kill or assist = 15%

50-74% kill or assist = 10%

25-49% kill or assist = 5%

What would be a reasonable downside?

Lower teammate-healing abilities, as in more energy consumption, less haling dealt. A player getting such an Alteration isn't likely to be healing so much anyways, so teammate helping parameters should be lowered.

Regarding the name: Medical Student Dropout, or Corrupt Doctor. On a more serious note, Offensive Attacker might work.

Err, it's not like Stock Isidas are healing much these days anyway. Because you're getting back life, I'd say decrease the DPS by 10-15% depending on how much HP they're getting back. And yeah, maybe decreasing their healing capabilities as well, just in case.

It's like two separate Nanomass Reactors. one refills your energy after a kill, the other gives you some HP back but you're vulnerable if there are 2 or more enemies initially.
