Overdrives are unfair and unbalanced

Why does the hornet overdrive reload so quickly?

 

Why does the viking overdrive reload so slowly?

 

Do the developers realise how much the hornet overdrive has ruined this game (especially combined with magnum)?

 

It's not like I can equip magnum protection, because the hornet overdrive disables it.

 

There are hornets running around with overdrive on all battle because of drones, drops and because the hornet overdrive reloads so damn quickly.

 

The game is ruined.

Hornet's OD is very good, but Viking is imho the best or second best hull in the game with Hunter being in competitition, so I'm fine with it having a weaker OD. Its OD is very good though...a few days ago i tapped shift and killed four enemies in 3 seconds...Hornet cant do that, and must stay alive to get value. That being said, I do concede it is very strong

Viking OD on the surface does have a slow recharge - manily because it can do the most damage in such a short time.

 

But... as most battles are team battles, there's a good chance you get boosts from Dictators and also the "OD supply drop".

 

So in battle-situatons, Viking has OD available a lot more often than might be suspected.  If it charged faster on it's own, combined with above boosts, it would be kind of ridiculous.

Actually there is an easy solution: Hornet's Overdrive Duration could get reduced from 20 to 15 seconds for now and if it's still too much, it can be adjusted to 12 seconds or so. I mean, it's still plenty of time

Or you can just kill the Hornet. They aren't very hard to kill.

As a Viking/Firebird user, I just let my teammates take the available OD box since my OD is garbage in comparison to all other OD's.  I also do this knowing my Viking OD is the slowest to recharge among all tanks...

It's not that bad, but it would be better if you use a longer ranged gun like smoky, thunder, or railgun. But I do think the duration time should be increased to 10 seconds or the recharge time should be decreased back down to 3 minutes.

So longer than Mammoth gets?

 

I think 10 sec would be too long for the damage it can do.  Fire is not optimal with Viking.  Just like Gauss and Vulcan are not optimal with Hunter.

 

Maybe tweak the recharge a little.

Honestly if I was dev, I would've made Vikings OD recharge time decrease all the way down to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. But 3 minutes would've made non viking people more happy.

 

IMO, some ODs ( like dictator, mammoth) needs to be more different from each other and juggernaut, some ( like hornet wasp, and titan) needs to be nerfed, and others (like juggernaut, Viking, and hunter) needs to be buffed or be given new abilities.

So quickly? 2 minutes and 30 seconds is the time Mammoth and Dictator take to charge their Overdrives. With the number of Vikings I see around, even more of their Overdrives would be hell (for me, because everyone else sees tons of other hulls).

It's counter (titans dome) lasts almost 3 times as long and recharges in almost half the time. And is super effective against Vikings OD.

I see multiple Vikings in every battle - more than Hunter - and they get many kills each time they use them.  They are very effective.

So the only buff for Viking should be better recharge.

 

Not sure what to do about mammoth.  They ruined it by taking away invulnerability.  It's a heavy hull that requires close contact.  Odd combo.

Agreed. Now it's way too similar to dictator and juggernaut in terms of overdrive.

The last time I played was Halloween  :D.

The main reason why I dislike the current overdrives is because they are unfun

 

 

Meaning, every time I respawn, if I constantly get one-shot by a Viking or something like that, it's not fun at all.

 

And who thought Titan blocking 90% damage for it and it's teammates was fun?
