Well, if they wanted to give it shot effects, then that's what they should've done instead of giving it a Damn projectile.

Well, with the projectile, the actual shot effect will look like previous Thunder if it had a shot effect, but 5 times better,

I am a Legend player, I have used Thunder M4 + Sledgehammer Rounds since release and my opinions about this? Obviously I am not happy how it is so close to Gauss now, but performance-wise? I don't really mind, what I have noticed is that it rarely really screws up my shots if you like me, can aim properly. When using Sledgehammer Rounds specifically though, I think Tanki Online made it AS fast as Gauss. Makes Thunder M4 less unique, but again, still viable. It is actually oddly satisfying seeing your slowed down projectiles fly and deal around 1900 damage when they have no protection. So what is my official vote? I think the projectile slow does not make Thunder look any cooler, and rather ugly on the original skins, but still pretty playable, BUT if we had the chance to revert it... I'd go for Instant-Hits for sure. It just makes you feel more confident.

Edit: I also hope they don't add Thunder shot effects TBH, it will look so ugly and unnatural.

I almost never use Thunder, purely because there are too many people with protection from it, and also because there are way better alternatives. To me, this change doesn't seem too bad, it'd certainly be a nightmare for those people who just used to camp and not move. But at the same time, I feel like the projectile speed should increase a little bit, to make it a bit different than Gauss.

I want to agree with you there, I thought about it really hard, and it doesn't really make a difference. I would definitely prefer instant shots but the flying mechanics are so minor and I feel that most reactions here were over exaggerated.

Good joke. The pre projectile update thunder will always be the best shot effect that it ever had.

Please let me know how players will get the shot effect as you cannot buy it with crystals. Don't tell me challenges because this is rare and one colour for one turret. The other way are even more rarer. In the end this is useless addition for F2P and even buyers.

I don't mind the new polygon shape, well that is for hardcore player and buyers.

I don't mind the gun recoil effect, wait that is also for hardcore player and buyers.

I do mind the coconut shell/flying time, lucky me it it for every thunder players (why not only buyer ? )

If they sell an alteration for thunder with higher speed and no coconut ?, I will buy it straight away (remember the splash damages added to the twin and the following alteration fixing the issue...).

NO.

And since the change does not really affect your play, it's a bit disingenuous to say "doesn't seem too bad" - considering almost every user of the turret does think it is "too bad"

Wait, so you're going to say this to everyone who does not agree with your "opinion" then? ?

I mentioned I almost never use it but, that's still not equal to "never", I have used it a fair few times since the update, even on big maps like Stadium etc. and to me it did not make too much of a difference. I agree it takes a bit of getting used to but that took me barely 1 - 2 battles. Even then I suggested speeding the projectile up a bit more.

Also saying that it "does not affect my play" makes no sense, because even if I'm not using it, I have enemies who are using it, and that DOES, affect my play.

Of course it's all opinion.

But at the same time it's hard to believe you are objective when the change would only have a positive effect on your play (as the target of Thunder).

Also, it's like you don't read any of the posts on this.  Huge majority of the users of the turret feel that it is a nerf - and they are right.  It's a nerf that did not need to happen.

But this is how the Devs "deal" with things.  Vulcan is another example that received multiple nerfs that messed up it's usage.

Umm, I don't think you get it. We're not complaining that it's performance went down a bit. We're complaining because it lost its one thing that made it unique from all tor splash turrets. And it affects everyone's play, in the sense that a wizzing thunder shell sounds like a whizzing Gauss shot.

I used to use thunder in like 2015, so haven't used it for a very long time. Anyway, it makes me feel kind of bad when I see thunders struggle with the added projectile speed. For me, it wasn't OP or anything with the instant hit so I hope they make it back to the way it was. Tanki doesn't really like bringing back old things though...

Speaking from the perspective of someone solely on the receiving end of Thunder, I have to say that this change still isn't sitting well with me. When I watch my Thunder teammates fight or when I encounter one or several Thunders at the same time, the battles just feel...awkward.

It's not sitting well with anyone except those butt hurt kids crying about it's instant hit feature being "too OP" and realism wanters.

I’ve tried thunder on low account, and it really isn’t that bad.  Keep in mind that I will only be talking about the functional aspect and not how sexy the coconut looks.

Both from my experience and theoretically, the only difference there is is that thunder takes a bit more skill to use, and it becomes difficult to use at long range.  I propose that thunder’s projectile speed should be increased to the point where it requires aiming, but not having to lead your shots so much.

My main issue with thunder is that if I have double damage equipped, I shoot someone, and I die while the projectile is in midair, the game will count the projectile as not having DD.  Same issue with Rico.  Starting away from the topic, my shot doesn’t even deal damage after I die sometimes(any projectile based turret).

How do you determine "Thunder player"? What if you have the turret available and have used it, but it's not among the multiple ones you typically use? If it's the best option in a given situation, it is sure to prove useful. I think the projectile speed is cool, this feature can help introduce balance between longer and short range weapons.

I like the update. Makes Thunder (and soon, Vulcan and Smoky) realistic. Also, they are meant to be mid-ranged turrets, so the update further emphasizes that fact as it makes it harder to hit targets at long range.

So your lesson is MU your equipment, stop crying and adapt/learn a new playstyle for your needs and if that dont work learn a new combo!

I agree, the moment a nerf is announced, no matter which game it is, everyone just goes ahead and fears for their life and blames the devs on killing something.
