The Battle Mods are Pathetic

 Share

Recommended Posts

With all due respect, they don't do anything. Literally, I've never seen a battle mod ever remove a player from battle. There are more hackers than there were in 2012... you can literally go into a Happy New Year battle and be guaranteed to find at least one hacker (who is always using dictator) - no hyperbole here.

Wouldn't it make sense for battle mods to preemptively spectate these battles? You may argue that they are also enjoying festivities, well then what's the point of having a battle mod system when they aren't there when they are needed the most? If they aren't moderating battles in which they are guaranteed to find a hacker, then what do they moderate at all? The battle mods are either too little in number or they simply don't do enough.

Literally have never seen even one hacker, so idk if there is really a need for one.

Id say if there was a need for one, it would be to ban ppl for saying "ez" and using insults in battles

Yeah, the only hacks I see these days are occasional jumpers on gold boxes, which aren't much more of an issue than typical lags. Even other violations like sabotage are not that common - mostly people are just bad at the game.

Jump hack got patched in 2017 if my memory serves, so it's not an issue anymore. Only hacks I can think of would be ignore tanks (where the hacker is able to go through tanks, this is often dismissed as lag though).

Mults though, they're rampant in pro battles. Too often I join a battle to see that there are two players with 0 score while we are being attacked. They leave, and suddenly we're getting farmed.

Tanki has refused to deter mults for years, now they just have an excuse not to fix it with their ExploitMaker system. So yeah, not much hope on the mult situation, guess I'll play boring Island CTF battles.

If this is turning into a mult thread, idk if you can do anything about it.

Is a shaft titan camping far from the flag, but getting 3rd place with a huge k/d a mult? Some would say no, some might say yes.

Is a smoky wasp that suicides unsuccessfully 10 times into the defense while the rest of the team play TDM in an assault map a mult? I'd say no, but he will have a tiny score.

Are people playing TDM in assault mults? Some might say yes, but then again some ppl just want to blow up tanks.

Is someone who cant spawn in bc the flash client is noob, a mult? I'd say no, but that person will force his team to go 7v8 most of the game.

Earlier i saw a screenshot in lower ranks of a battle that was a blood bath. The screentaker asked some ppl on the other side if they were using supplies and one said "no, I'm pro".

He was like 4/10. A mult? no, but he got wrecked.

I just think that the nature of the game means some players are better by a lot than others.

What I might suggest is the matchmaking system putting in extra players, maybe 1-2 more if a team is getting destroyed. It would 1) spread the stronger team out a bit more, and 2) give the losing team more of a chance to stabilize

It's much more of a problem at middle ranks than higher ranks... I went in my alt on all of the event days counted a total of 43 different hackers. Something needs to be done. It's like when the president comes to a public place for an event. There's going to be much more security than there is normally.

Now, I'm not much of a tech geek when it comes to gaming and hacking but I'm assuming "hacking" falls under "usage of 3rd party software" in the ban log. I'm' a little satisfied with the numbers, but the main thing is that the moment someone starts hacking should be the moment they are kicked from the game. There's no point in banning the person after the deed has been done because that results in a poor gaming experience for clean players.

so the question is, since you countered that many, could you make a vid next time showing them? That would ge them banned for one but also show the rest of us what they look like. Just post the link of your vid here and I'd gladly watch!

It shouldn't have the responsibility to download video recording software on my computer in order to catch hackers for Tanki. That said, the event's over, otherwise I would gladly do so.

Sorry, the reason I suggested that is that you are making a claim that hackers were everywhere. I have never seen a hacker ever. Maybe you are right, but a claim requires proof.

like if I claim that Maf is in fact a lizard, I would have to give proof of his...lizardness.

100% of hacking claims that Ive seen are not. Ive been accused of hacking several times for doing idk what. Maybe battle mods havent seen hackers either. Some good proof would change their minds

There is a lot more going on behind the scenes than you know. There are always more battles than there are moderators. And with the new 7-minute time limit, these battles end faster. It would help if people would use the /vote system more often to flag BM during an active battle.

I once saw someone with striker being able to lock on to a target while fully in cover. A few times in the same battle, I wouldn't see a laser and then all of a sudden all four rockets came rushing at me.

I don't know if it's some sort of new hack or if the map or lock on mechanic was glitched. All I know was that it happened.

That is an older hack. Striker would automatically lock without the laser. I caught three of those on three different accounts at different ranks. All 3 have been banned when reported with video evidence.

Look at Mr. Lucky here going against Stock Strikers and not Cyclone Strikers with the hack.

In all seriousness, it really puts a damper on the enjoyment of TJR battles. The Striker would just pop out from a corner and Bam! 8 missiles heading your way before you could even charge your Terminator's Railgun.

As @Maf said above, the ban logs show that they do do a lot of work in battles. You need to remember that Battle mods are real people who have their own lives. They cannot be expected to give up all their time just to sit in battles for the majority of the day and ban violators. Not only that, the Battle Mod position is one that requires an applicant that is mature and trustworthy and these are qualities that are quite hard to find. This is why the Battle Mod admin cannot add any person to the team just for the sake of needing more moderators.

Reminds me of a certain turret with a certain ability.

Just wondering, does the ban log account for all bans both video and actually live-spectated bans or just one of them?

At the top of the ban log it states "In this topic, the Administration will weekly publish a list of violators punished for complaints from battles from the Violations channel and from the Game Violators section." Complaints from battles means that players would use the report command and a battle moderator would join the battle, spectate it and then make a decision. Game violators section is evidence of any violations that a player has recorded and posted. So, to answer your question I'm pretty sure the answer is both but you can confirm this by Asking a Battle Mod.
