This should have been talked about much further in the past, but here it is now. Both Firebird and Freeze have the same minimum and maximum damage ranges and turret rotation speed. Their direct damage varies between the two, with Freeze having more direct damage than Firebird. Their alterations to disable their unique abilities gives additional direct damage as compensation.

The problem arises where despite having the same range, Incendiary Mix deals more damage, has more ammo, and reloads faster. Why is that? Why is one objectively better than the other? Should it be this way?

Since they(stock) are the same in every aspect except for dps and special effects, when the special effects are removed, the two should have equal dps.  Basically, they become the same turret.

What is this new section? I like it

Definitely agreeing with you, there's something not right here. Alterations aren't supposed to be better than each other, just more effective in different situations. Incendiary mix is obviously superior to corrosive mix..

Corrosive Freeze should reduce ammo consumption from 142 to 100 energies per second. Increase its DPS by 15-17%, allowing to tighten the DPS difference from Incendiary (1050 DPS) and Corrosive (will be 1035-1053 DPS if change apply). And....reload time should reduce by one-third.

also, I noticed Firebird has greater dps because it goes by Damage per Tick now on the Wiki, Why does Incendiary Mix cost more XD

It costs more because it boosts Firebird's damage by 50%. Corrosive Mix only boosts Freeze's damage by a mere 5%, but its enough to make its damage match Firebird's Incendiary Mix alt.

But is it actually worth buying an alteration that boosts the damage with merely 5%? To me, it sounds like a waste of 90k crystals. Id rather keep stock freeze with the additional freezing effect.

I told my friend the exact same thing you said.

I agree its a big waste of 90k. But most player's are not too dedicated to the game that they will go and check this website:

https://en.tankiwiki.com/Alterations

So they will unknowingly get ripped-off.

Yeah i use the tankiwiki as well if i want to know stuff about game mechanics and tank statistics.

But since the two alterations should make firebird and freeze the same turrets (in terms of stats), its hard to balance out corrosive mix, since it cant receive a buff (I find incendiary mix already powerful).

Idk... this alteration seems rather one of the useless ones, the benefits dont compare to the costs

If the cost of corrosive mix was more like 30k, i'd buy it, but 90k? no.

I have the feeling there should be a way to make both alterations even in stats, but I cant think of any proper way to do it

Even if it was FREE it's not worth trading freezing effect for a 5% boost.  That's a terrible trade-off.

I feel like the damage changing effects should stay as they are now...

What should be changed is that Firebird's Incendiary Mix no longer decreases the ammo consumption.

So in the end, Incendiary Mix provides a bigger damage boost than Corrosive Mix as is the case now, but Freeze by default already has more ammo in its clip than Firebird to balance it out.

But honestly, Corrosive Mix sucks a lot today....because..

Freezing effect now disables enemy Double Damage supplies and Adrenaline boosts.

Corrosive Mix is dead. 10% increased damage is nothing compared to the ability to render Double Damage supplies and Booster Drones useless.
