Tanki Online NOW

This is a basic topic; but I’d like to know. TO is clearly not a game for all of the player base. Whether you love or hate Tanki Online, I would like to know, which aspect of the game updates/features/turrets/hulls ruin your experience of the game or do you still love playing TO casually and professionally. What are some pros and cons about the current 2020 updates of TO? Or are you a history nerd and want to share some feedback about old updates? Here are some example of the poll's choice meaning.

Loving is totally fine and it means PRO-Tanki Online

Satisfied is being fine with TO and you are the casual type.

On Edge is you still like Tanki Online but you are close to rage quitting.

Hate it is a strong judgement and you despise the updates. 

Here's an example of MY opinion.

My answer is: I hate it. I think the game has started well from 2021, adding Shards and Hot Sales (now gone) and stuff, but it has really gone downhill from there. Below are some of the problems that I think the game has.

• Cool Augments are basically locked in Containers, or an insanely high crystal price.    // This seriously affects game balance

• Running low on supplies and how difficult they are when you do not spend money in-game.    // Drones usage has become a standard of the game

• Majority of updates not asked by the player base, and rather just the developers adding whatever they want.    // This seemed to have improved

• Tanki Online Mobile still isn't available on the iOS devices.    // It's coming?

• Striker Crit, Gauss Crit, Freeze Crit, Viking OD, and the Saboteur Drone are Overpowered.    // Needs nerfs ASAP

• Tanki Online Developers need to listen to their player base more often.    // This seemed to have improved

• No equipment change.  // Presets when?

• Thunder sucks.  // Needs buffs ASAP

TO's ok. Supplies have always been a problem. I have lots of fun in custom battles without supplies, and there's no battle pass anymore, which is great. I'll need to re-assess things when the new modification levels come out, and the changing graphics/tank models will be interesting to see.

I love it. Lots of things I dont like, bc the world doesnt revolve around me. But the base game is so much fun and I look forward to playing when I can. Add in the community aspect of joining a good discord and youve got an amazing product. Sure they push things like gauss and yes overdrives lead to a much faster, crqzy game than Id like, but im over 1k hours so they must be doing some things right

The game overall is really fun, but the big issue is that the amount of fun you can get out of it depends on how far you've progressed through the ranks. If you are a Legend with a full garage and everything upgraded, the game will be fun since you can explore and experiment with all the various combos, try something new after balance updates, and take full advantage of the game's mechanics without worrying about managing your resources.

But the lower you go, the more issues you have to face, such as carefully choosing which equipment to upgrade, struggling to fight against higher ranks, carefully using supplies as to not run out of them, deciding how to spend crystals, etc. It's been a long time since I played the game at low ranks, but I feel that it's quite difficult at the moment, especially for genuine new players.

There is nothing such as a perfect game all video games specially online ones have downfalls and pass through hard times Tanki got some issues too and have done some mistakes but they are not killing the fun and the great community of tanki, changing Madness map and adding new turrets doesn't completely ruin the game in return tanki makes some good/acceptable updates, great events and offers in special days we should appreciate

On edge. Not been playing much for the past two weeks and I plan to take an extended hiatus in 2020.

 

The toxic player base still exists. There's buyer marshals / fieldmarshals calling legend players noobs. There's no respect. Then when you call them out they get angry.

 

I saw a youtube video where someone spent 30 million crystals in the Christmas sale. Obviously there is a huge inbalance in the game.

 

The anti-spawn kill update has had a negative effect on pro battles, namely DM mode. If a player spawns next to you then you are dead because they are invincible for 2 seconds which is enough time to do 1000+ damage with freeze, isida, firebird.

 

Matchmaking is still boring and that's the main reason why I'm leaving. It would be better if different maps were introduced like esplanade or other classics.

 

Deathmatch has been removed from matchmaking. Deathmatch in pro battles is not what it used to be because lots of buyers play there now and some of their tanks seem invincible.

 

Nothing left to play for. Nothing left to purchase and everything heavily microupgraded.

Overdrives are stupid

Drones are a pathetic cashgrab

Drug meta is boring and repetitive.

Dev team is obsessed with removing anything fun from this game. Want to defend with shaft because you have bad equipment? Can't do that now, sorry! Like to flank opponents with smoky/wasp? Too bad, we removed flanking routes from maps! Want to feel safe in your base? Well SCREW YOU, we added a turret that can shoot over walls! Want to try a different playstyle? Well don't expect anything from us, because the only way to play is to spam as many drugs and overdrives as you possible can in a minute! Want to have fun? My "deepest" apologies, but removed the variable "fun" from our codebase because it detracted from profit! 

 

 

Also return old madness!

I have to to agree. When I was a Marshal/Field Marshal. The majority of the MM community has been known to be toxic when they chat and it has driven me to the edge to rage quit and sometimes I do lose my temper by retaliating... Not proud of it, but I'm sure we have all been there.

On Edge. There are good updates, and there are bad ones. This list will include new things since I started this account (2016).

 

Positive:

  • Containers
  • Team Juggernaut (I have a soft spot for this mode)
  • Solo WARs (example: Tank War, Demolition War)
  • Map WARs (example: Stolen Christmas)

Negative:

  • Overdrives
  • Matchmaking
  • Star WARs (example: Space War, Evil War)
  • Coinboxes
  • Overload of Game modes
  • Overload of Turrets. The last one should have been Vulcan, maybe Striker.

i actually started in 2014,at that time the game was great nothing more fun that that even though it was lagging on my old laptop,it was still ENJOYABLE.However these days tanki is just pure nonsense compared to what it was before.Buyers are the literal invaders of the game the shop oh boi the shop this thing allows you to obtain turrets' and hulls' modifications EXTREMELY early like freakin m2 gauss and m2 hornet at w.o 2/3.WHAT IS THIS?! this is like asking the players that don't put in money in the game to leave.Even though you grind and get crystals you still do not have the rank to buy the kit because the shop makes it available at earlier ranks than garage kits.Plus i have been hearing they'll make kits a shop-exclusive thing well if that happens bye bye tanki.Players are selfish and toxic but still i have seen some well mannered ones that happened to be friendly and also bring back the old madness map plz

Here are the features released in 2019 and here's the truth on them:

 

·Challenges (the worst one of 2019)

·Over drives (good and somewhat bad, but at least they're being fixed now)

·Gauss ( absolutely horrible, almost as bad as challenges)

·Archipelago (just bad, but thankfully I rarely get put in it)

·Removal of the self destruction penalty ( really good)

·Coin boxes (meh)

·Hyperion drone (horrible, this was a huge problem before smart cool downs)

·HTML5 (best one of 2019)

·Tankoins (meh, would've been better to bring all individual m3s down to LT General, but the feature itself is ok I guess)

·Team juggernaut (awesome, really fun game mode)

·Seige mode (horrible)

·Spawn protection (needs some work, but has potential to be the game changing feature of the decade, so it's a good start)

Challenges have changed how battles are played for the last 12 months. Made players go to such lows to get 3 stars per battle. Which made battles horrible most notably in the high ranks. I almost wanted to quit playing TO every time a new set of them began.

 

I'm TOs one of the more suck up players, and I am very reasonable with my complaints. And if I don't like a certain feature, then something's wrong with it.

 

However 2019 has been mostly a year of bad updates. Let's hope it doesn't continue into 2020.

OMG the new Siege mode is ever so infuriating with all the Gauss+Hornet OD combo killing everybody! It makes this mode less dynamic and not fun for me. Also because of, this I see the meta change with more players using Dictator for that sweet battle score.

On another note can we buff Hunter OD's range? Or fine tune it more, sometimes I find it ridiculous missing my OD, wasting it, and somehow when the enemy uses it me with about the same range, it makes me mad when they are somehow able to stop my tank. Another I hate is the Hunter OD vs Hunter OD interaction. Whoever manages to activate to OD first cancels out the other Hunter! Please change this interaction to some degree ?
