But the problem is that the categories are actually a topic, and so it's all together.

 

So my suggestion is to organize categories by separating category ideas from category comments.

You have a valid point, but unfortunately that would be too difficult from a logistical point of view. The forum doesn't have suitable tools to allow us to do it easily, so if we were to do it, it would be a lot of manual work. Instead, we make sure that all ideas get at least a few days as separate topics to generate some discussion before they are merged into the category topic. If the idea is particularly original and interesting, and/or results in a lot of discussion, then we prefer to permanently keep it as a separate topic. Also, if you want to look at the ideas in category topics - a lot of them have a list of all individual ideas in the first post.

I think he or she is saying that only the original post/idea should be merged to the category topic, and if that's the case I support the idea.

 

And I think I have an easy way to do it: After few days of discussion and maybe changes to a new idea the poster should post a finalized idea in that topic which then that last post could be merged to the category topic, and the idea topic be archived.

 

That would mean the category topic will have one idea in every post.

 

And it would be better to rethink categories too. For example there should be "ideas for new battle modes" and "ideas for current battle modes" and maybe sub categories like "ideas for Assault mode".

I realise that not many people actively read and post in category topics, but turning them into locked archive topics means that we're completely shutting down any further discussion. Then how about having two topics per category?

 

One that is for individual valid and completed ideas, easy for posters and maybe devs to browse.

 

And another for discussion and whole topic mergings, including invalids and declineds.

Sarim is correct. My ideas neither hold any more value nor have a higher chance of being implemented than everyone else's, so it doesn't matter who posts the idea.
