It makes the game much less fun to play - unless you are one of those in a hornet doing the same thing.

So either players will leave (who plays a game that is not fun) or 80% of the players will be in hornet.

How is either of those results good?

Zat is temporary situation, and certainly not Ze End as devs always re-balance things. Therefore 80% players with hornet will not prevail. The potency of Hornet is incidental of the defender which was nerfed (Status effects and other updates). Is it enough,?We will see. Maybe some additional tweak more on the Hornet side.
Von_thingy had another nice topic, but he need to elaborate more.

Not all hornet users equip Defender to cap flags (it's major use).  Many of them camp and just pick off anyone not in a heavy hull.

Balance Hornet OD?  It's been OP ever since it was introduced.  I have grave concerns Devs will just let it be - seems to be their favorite.

Okay, on the latest V-LOG trailer, they mentioned the, "Return of Crystal Boxes." What do you guys speculate this could be? Do you really think the Crystal Drops return permanently? Only for the month of June (TO's 11th Birthday)? Or a stupid new limited container? Will this remove crystals from normal containers? (That'd be so stupid) I really do hope it is the old crystal drops like in the oldest version of TO! I would feel the nostalgia ?

I really hope they're just bluffing about bring back crystal boxes. Otherwise people will just farm them like they did back in the day before they got removed.

If they are to return, I hope it's just for solo battles, since those battles you can only blame yourself.

I meant hopefully for MM battles, ofc not for PRO-Battles. Idk what the developers mean when they say these slight updates would break the game's economy, when the game economy right now is just complete garbage and a major turn off for new players.

Nah, I think it's just a way for them to take all the criticisms away from stars and challenges. Also the crystal boxes is just gonna be another bad update because teammates will just go box collecting instead of contributing to the team.

I would appreciate the crystal boxes. It will be a flashy distraction like most other updates, but I think after a couple months (if it is permanent) people will get used to it. It could help f2p players afford those hella expensive augments. Next thing Tanki Online needs to do next is to buff Tankoin Drops from weekly containers. Like what? A f2p earning 25 tankoins a month would take approx. 24.3334 years to afford an Mk7 product kit in the shop, where a ptw players can do so within 30 seconds. What economy is Tanki Online talking about? Being stingy and pay walling most items (even Shop prices in unbelievable prices) is the most ridiculous way for a company in the gaming industry to make money. It hurts the vibes the game brings, and creates a divide between the community. If I were to be a new player to the game and making about 25 Tankoins a month. I'd just not even bother with this game, and probably leave negative reviews on social media. Note that what I said here is the average I make per month, not everybody. If you consistently do weekly missions at get your 72 a month, sure, it will only take 8, EIGHT YEARS! ?

ODs, drones, alterations, Magnum, short battles, MM, battle fund removal, short drug duration and short cooldowns ruining the game, and they add crystal boxes, which simply redistributes the fund, from players who are active on the battlefield, to those that just drive around collecting the boxes.

I know many people miss this easy way of getting crystals, but there are ways that could solve the problem of P2W, without favoring multing in battles.

The game used to be for people who now like XP/BP: skill, manouvering, positioning, etc. Now it is just 7 minutes of using OD, spamming shots, drugging, using your drone and dying out of nowhere because of Magnum and Booster/other drones.

That crystals boxes looked like a container. Unlikely to be the old crystal box. At the very least a new mode with the old crystals box, but i would not count on it. I would say a new Tankoin-box-like feature but with crystals instead.

Lol, reading the forum topic about it, it appears that semyonkirov did nothing in 2014 to prevent the crystals box to be removed from the game. <= What a scoop! Bad Semyon, bad.

My personal opinion about the changes to the game and development:

Cons:

  • P2W, dishonest devs making excuses for bad updates:
  1. Tankoins, so mobile players can use discounts. Somehow everything got 2x+ more expensive when the update came in.
  2. Mk modifications to make the transition from one modification to another smoother. Wait, didn't we have MUs already? And coincidentally upgrades became more expensive.
  3. Moving alterations (now: augments) to containers, then bringing them back. Of course, it so happens that they became more expensive.
  4. Removed funds from format battles, because of power-leveling. Really? This is so absurd that no one is stupid enough to buy it.
  • Other bad things:
  1. Magnum, especially its alterations.

Magnum reminds me of artillery from World of Tanks. Annoying, overpowered, name it. Granted, I don't know too much about Magnum other than the direct comparison I just made...I have one question: Does anything obstruct it's firing arc? Seems to me they hit you from everywhere. And the alteration I'm most familiar with is when it drops mines where it fires...like what??????

On to the cons you mentioned...I have to agree that switching from the MU system to this idiotic MK system has made things a lot more complicated AND more expensive, and with other factors involved, unwary players may very well be driven to whip out the credit card.

I don't know what to really say about "Tankoins" other than in my mind, I think they're kinda whack. And considering the prices they have some stuff in the garage/shop or whatever for TKs, it's kind of absurd. Just gotta hope I get lucky to get enough TKs to buy something? I'll pass.

It's funny how alterations got moved to containers (as if they'd get away with that), then when they get brought back in the garage; the price gets hijacked, lol Idk who's making these ridiculous decisions like THAT, but omg.

They applied a "one size fits all" with removing funds from format battles. Okay so what a group of people were abusing the system. Isn't that what banning people is for? Why the hell does everyone have to suffer due to the actions of a few clowns?

That's what they claimed they removed them for in the beginning...I know you remember that lol there is some truth to that, and it may prove to even be more true at this stage of the game where nobody plays as a team anymore.

Hahaha, I play WoT, too, know what you mean.

Here you have full control over your gun elevation, which gives you two options as to hitting one target: high trajectory and low trajectory. Additionally, you can adjust the speed of the shot, which allows you to choose any trajectory up to range limits. So Magnum can shoot pretty much over any obstacle and hit you. Even when an enemy is directly under a roof you still get to deal considerable splash damage. Sneaking up and using terrain does not make sense anymore.

They are simply making the game more P2W, but they do not want it to look direct. Some concealment. I'd say they planned it from the beginning, just as with Tankoins.

Not only that, this mode was never used or even viable for crystal farming. It only gave decent rewards, which allowed you to play for fun while gaining some crystals. The truth is they are making excuses in order to make it harder to have fun in this game without buying/drugging/droning/grinding challenges.

Not another mode but a low rank feature with old crystal box. why not.

idk about y'all but I find Magnum pretty trash without Reinforced Gun Carriage LOL! Ik how to use standard Magnum with Mortar Augment, but the feeling for not able to spin my turret just isn't my preference.

@Opex-Rah's logic: Too many P2W Players are having too many easy get-strong equipment. Let's make the gear locked in containers so it is harder for everyone!

P2W: EZ

There are very annoying.

Splash damage + mine can easily destroy even a medium tank as most players are not equipping Spider as one of the 3 modules. And Spider won't help if it's a hornet-magnum with OD active.

Unless they buffed it idk, I thought the initial Magnum shot Mortar Augment damage was decreased. If it is still like that, I kind of find this Augment a little more on the Okay side. Because, I usually see where the shot land, I can usually survive one mine, and mines only last 30 seconds, so they cannot be swarmed. (Unless Viking OD)

It was originally -25% maximum damage, but now it's -15%, which isn't much of a decrease.

I still prefer Reinforced Gun Carriage, Also you were right about the Augment Missile Launcher "Hunter." It is really fun to use. Broken? No. Useful? Definitely.

missile launcher 'hunter' is mad .it puts striker an advantage compared to thunder .the accuracy, the speed of the rockets and the fact that striker protections are very rare .useful for wrecking light-medium hulls

"hunter" makes striker actuallyplayable now.  I out-lasted a mammoth-shaft with my Titan-striker on Serpuhov No-supply-No-Overdrive battle.  I think he was compleetly surprised at how often a missile was coming down his gullet.

I absolutely do not understand why TO still has the 0 damage glitch since 2009 and why the HTML5 requires so many assets, when nobody cares how flashy the game is when it is so dead. The lobby and the whole client is just a disaster at the moment and I have lost all hope for TO. Instead of acknowledging each update, I'll just critique it now.

The 0 damage “bug” is a false positive from the anticheat to prevent lag switching.

Should be removed. It is hard to hack in Tanki Online. Even if they do, I hardly see legit hacking in MM and when some people hack in PRO-Battles, they are just showing off and can easily be reported.

So now I can unplug my ethernet cable, shoot everybody on the map, plug it back in, and get an insane amount of kills?
