Still so many without protections - Poorly managed update

There is still so many players, who has not activated their protection modules.  I try to tell my team mates to activate them but they seem not to understand english.

This latest update has been very poorly managed in this regard.

If people are being nobs, much like not using supplies, its kinda on them. Altho you are right that it wasnt communicated very well to re-equip modules

Hate it though when my team is the one with majority of players sans modules...

It is insane to still see this in Legend-level battles.

Not surprising when you think about people who don't turn their turrets.

Why do updates nowadays result in unequipping our protection modules? If this was intentional, then why? What good is this?

It's more annoying than useful. Have to go to garage every time I feel my protection modules aren't equipped.

If this is a bug, can it be fixed ASAP?

After you enter a battles you should within one minute adapt your equipment to stay competitive. If players do not do that then they kind of playing for fun rather competitively.

As for the Communication it was communicated there

About Modules

Modules have also received the conversion. In the process, all modules were unequipped from tanks. Therefore, the next time you log in, make sure you re-equip your favorite modules.

Developers do their part, but they can't force player to read updates notes. The players needs to do their part too, they are not babies anymore...

And the point of having to re-equip our modules was what?

One can only guess that it could be due to a less risky procedure for the changes to be made or that it is impossible (without extensive reprogramming) due to the current system set up. It is hard to say as we do not know how the set up is and how the modification process worked.
The change over process could be: 1- Unequipped them in your garage, 2- do the modification of the module.
Reassigning the modules could lead to unfortunate mistakes (e.g. higher grade module or lower grade module). It also probably requires the system to register what was the combo before the change. And then re-assign it accordingly. In that set up, and knowing tanki, they would rather unequipped them and take not risk of equipping the wrong module.

The other possibility is that your garage look for your M4 module (data saved in your parameters), and do not find it (because change of name to MK7) so it displays "unequipped" by default or simply the data is lost during the un-equippe step.

Bad management? Not sure, IMO Tanki all together probably do not bother about this trivial matter (damage are minimal, while any mistakes will cost a lot of time to the helpdesk to sort it out). TO played it safe and counted on players to be smart enough to re-assign them all by themselves. Marcus went the extra miles to actually mentioned it on the updated topic, as it was not in the original post.

What is worrying is that players do not see that they do not have any protection, like they do not care to win or progress fast.

Tanki is a small company they have to focus on what is important (and quick wins), they will not spend time on small details that take programming time away. Might not be to your liking, but quality is not at the heart of the company.

Ok, but the devs need to compensate the players for the inconvenience, like adding a display of the players currently equipped modules in the main menu, so that players will know right off the bat that their modules are equipped or not.

Still so many w/o protections.  I use english to tell them to activate protections but nothing happens.  I even use some cursing words to forward the message, but no, nothing happens. I even asked someone to translate my message from english to russia but no.

The worst offence I had with this was the last hour before the end of the january Challenge. I was away from my usual device and needed to use Browser HTML5 to get 1 star for a container. I joined a Sandal battle and surprisingly, I had a solid frame rate. I was expecting to lag like hell and rely on assists and Dictator Overdrives to get me to 70 score.

Coming down to the end of the battle, I decided to check the scoreboard, and what did I see?

Battle is 8 v 8. All 8 players on my team have 3 modules equipped with at least 25% in each one. On the enemy team, 5 players didn't have any equipped. 2 players on their team had 3 protection modules. The last player had 1 protection module equipped. My team's GS was significantly better than the enemy team's GS. How did that even happen?

I've had battles before that in Flash where my team would have 4 without protections but the enemy would have only 1. Or my team would have mostly visually M2 tanks and the enemy team is full of visually M3 tanks. Thankfully, that has stopped in the past week, but the protection module issue is still there.

They need to send an announcement in-game to alert players that their protection modules may be unequipped and to equip it before going into battle. Why haven't they done this?

Or just simply do this.

Better idea IMO. Many players don't read the announcements so there's not much to do about that. But also announcements I think take a lot of time to prepare. So making an announcement making people aware of their protection modules not being equipped would not only be inconvenient for the CMs, but not really helpful for many players.

You know what's nice about just having your currently equipped protection modules be displayed in the main menu?

On part of the devs, you only have to implement it once. For the players, it'll be staring back at them like their combo.

There's a player I regularly see in legend battles... their name escapes me (I think it's something to do with smoking weed)... but they roll in every battle with wasp-twins and no modules. You would think they would be tired of getting whooped all the time but no.

Some of them give a lame excuse about "making it more challenging"... as they proceed to last-place in the battle and help drag their team to yet another loss.  ?

to be fair, if you could dominate with twins wasp, youd have my admiration....its probably the worst combo ?
