MM balancing really is not working...

In last battle GS range between players was from 3400 to 9400?????

I would like to know what is the "wisdom" behind the MM algorithm, if there is any.

This happened with my alt acc of General.

Sadly I would agree. When you add tons of variables besides player skill into a game, you will get lopsided battles. Overdrives reward you for doing well, so those who are OP at the beginning, they will be even more OP as the first rounds of OD's roll in. Add in drones, and some players are going to get wrecked no matter how well they play.

One factor that is NOT in this is supplies. Everyone has them, so if you don't use them, that factors into your ability more than not

It is probably due to way the conversion was done from  m0-m3 to mk1-mk7.

Lower rankers who acquired an m2 (maybe through kit) and upgraded that to m2.10 were granted mk7.0 instead of mk6.10.  This meant they could continue to upgrade past mk7.0 even though they were relatively low level.  Plus rank-spreads are still too wide IMO.

MM balances your wins and losses not battles. Opex-rah said so himself.

Wait...this is news to me. So the more I win, I will get placed against higher opponents and vice versa. Is gear score involved in that?

That does not necessarily have anything to do with balance in battles.  Both sides could be balanced - but one player being so much lower in power than other players is NOT a good thing.  Those players will quit (the GAME - not the BATTLE) in frustration.

You forgot this important detail.

There's no way it would've been caused by the recent conversion, because even before that, at least for me it was common to see even a GS difference of 1300 and 9300 in the same battle. This is mostly due to joining an unpopulated game mode like Cp or TDM. In those battles you could see rank spreads as far as 14 ranks, not counting the legend ranks.

 

Goes back to the fact that we have WAY too many game modes in MM.

This....100% this. How is rugby different from ctf....how is siege functionally different from CP. CTF and CP are in my opinion the two base game types, and the best. If we got rid of all those other ones, mm would be helped. I know ppl like jugg, so thats probably got to stay

There should be just 3 game modes for MM:

·Juggernaut

·Control points

·Capture the flag.

I have no idea. It might just be a set limit, regardless of GS or stats.

When the 9900 GS problem will be solved in low ranks, MM will start to be really balanced....

But I think the problem will solve itself when those players rank up

I'm seeing this stuff at legend rank battles. A few days ago i was 6/7 battles that ended 5-0.

At legend it should be normal. You should have the time to upgrade your equipement from marshal to legend.

But don't spend your crystals on speed-ups . With this manner you'll spend 400k only on  m4..

If you face a big problem with legends, use titan or  mammoth m3 in battles.

I dont. I've got almost full m4s, but still battles are blowouts. If you spawn in, your two teammates get insta killed and now there are 3 attackers in your base...nothing you can do

I would guess there is no such mechanism that does balancing based on your battle results.

It's more likely a law of averages - worked out over many battles or even many days.

Play 100 battles and you are likely to be on the winning team ~ 50 times ... +/- 5 or 6...

That's because legend ranked players have to deal with all kinds of garbage, ranging from high protections, to ridiculously OP alterations to that Damn Hyperion drone which basically removes supply cool downs.

 

If you ask, low ranked battles are a lot more fun because it's a lot more simple.

I agree with a lot of this, except I like the idea of building a good account, and I don't really like the idea of legends going to wreck noobs in lo ranks

Yeah they really need to separate the newbies from the low ranked alts. It's the real reason why new players aren't staying as long.

I dont think this is possible...I also hate when I see high rank ppl showing screenshots of them wrecking low ranks with an alt account

Funny because the more i lose the better opponents i get (so i lose more) and opposite. Funny how the chain where i started winning actually kept going on even after mk update.

Well they need to do something. Maybe give the newbies some permanent buffs until they get better.

Then the legends with alt accounts will get those buff too. A new account and an alt account are identical.

Edit: currently at 4 straight 5-0 ctf battles. The best format in tanki is full of blowouts. The last one was 6v8 for at least half of the battle

I agree with these selections, but I would bring back DM too.
