Isida buff.

Recommended Posts

So ever since the removal of the self heal, it's been really pointless to use isida for attacking. Firebird and freeze are better at it.

So to put it on better terms with its melee range companions I think a couple small buffs should be good if we can't bring back the self heal.

1) a 25 - 30% increase in max range for both damage and healing modes.

2) a 10 - 15% increase in its cone angle for both damage and healing modes.

These two small buffs should help it a bit I think.

Although Ideas like these cant be quite determined by a single player since it requires opinion from a large player base ranging from different ranks.

it already does have a special attack characteristic that puts it above Freeze and Firebird — the unlimited max damage range. This means that Isida deals maximum damage at any distance, as long as the enemy is within range and the beam can connect. This is unlike Fire or Freeze, which both need to get as close as possible in order to have maximum effect. This is a significant advantage that shouldn't be overlooked.

I overlook it because both freeze and firebird have 20k alterations that allow them to increase their max damage range to that of isida and then some.

And even if they were in their stock forms, isida would still be getting damaged by freeze and firebird at their max range.

While having a cone angle half that of Isida. And the maximum damage range for High-Pressure Pump at M4 is the same as the maximum range for Isida. And Isida has an alteration that makes it act like Firebird and Freeze, Broadband Emitters. They go both ways.

Yes, but the damage the Isida would be taking is much less than what the Isida would be dealing.

Or the Isida firing its turret generates a protective shield around the tank while firing, giving it a 5% overall protection against everything and adds 5% to the total of each module equipped.

Decreased range.

OKay... so... Frreeze/Fire can get same/better range as Isida (depending on Isida alt) PLUS they still have the freeze or afterburn special abilities.

The alts kinda switch the turrets to each other. High-Pressure Pump gives Firebird and Freeze Isida-like damage but with a very small (half of Isida's) cone angle, which makes it very easy to lose aim of the target if impact is applied to it.

Broadband Emitters gives Firebird and Freeze-like cone angles to Isida while the range is decreased (reflecting Firebird and Freeze dealing more damage the closer the target is).

The cone angle of Broadband Emmiters is 1.8x the cone angle of Firebird and Freeze, so while it doesn't have a special offensive effect like Firebird or Freeze, it won't have its beam not dealing damage and wasting energy if enemies are stuck up to it.

I'd agree!!! I liked the old Isida mechanic with the self-heal or comes up with an alterative with that "Heal Restoration"

Freeze - by it's nature - should not have a hard time keeping (any) cone on the target unless there's outside influences like a smoky or ricco peppering it at same time.

Yeah the freeze effect combined with HPP is powerful in the lower ranks and was common with early-purchased Freeze kits, but it still stands that it is easy to have your aim knocked off because the cone angle is very thin. With enough experience, I was able to keep steady aim under every turret except Twins. Twins just destroyed me because it gave me no chance to deal damage to it.

You'd need to sneak up on people so that they don't see you coming and start firing before you reach which makes it harder for you to take initial aim.

Doesn't change the fact that isida doesn't have a special attacking effect like firebird and freeze do and can only target one target at a time.

Ultimately this is how freeze should be played...

Just like Hunter.

Completed

Self-heal is back via an augment, and Isida received multiple balance changes since then to align it with the other turrets.
