New Gauss Alteration: EMP Rounds

Alt's not that game changing. Losing supplies is a pain but it can be survivable with the right tactics. The cooldown for supplies is only a few seconds which is good. I am willing to bet this is will be as rare as Rubberized Rounds, and I've only seen it once since release.

On the other hand, this doesn't seem to be an Alteration by definition. Alterations (usually) reduce a parameter and increase another. For examples, Autocannon drastically cuts reload but reduces damage, and Plasma Torch reduces delay between projectiles, but increases total reload and reduces projectile speed. Electromagnetic Salvo, on the other hand, adds a whole new mechanic and makes it feel foreign.

I am unable to turn off the Gauss alt from HTML5 (it shows I have the alt on but when I try to change it, it only shows standard setting - as if the alt doesn't exist even though I have it loaded) and I cannot select the standard setting. When I try to change it through the dowloaded client, it just shows it is loading the turret alterations forever. In the morning I am timed out. This is an annoying bug. Please help.

Wow, this topic was from just one year ago!

Gauss's Augment has been here not too long.

I hope it becomes more balanced.

 

Would adding a timer for the sniper shot/splash damage make things better?

This way, the EMP Augment can only remove supplies after a certain amount of time.

Or give a random chance to apply the EMP status effect, such as 50% of sniping shots add the EMP status effect. Even 75% would be better, because we all know that 100% > 75%. Although it might feel like regular EMP Gauss to others. 

 

It's very interesting to look back on something that came from 2020 me compared to 2021 me. Man I sure was cringe back then...

Towns, this is a very nice idea. Please share it in the Ideas and Suggestions Page so others can see/discuss it!

Make the Title maybe "Balance the EMP/AP Augment for Gauss".

You can also add in if we should discuss the AP Augment for Gauss.

I don't have it, but AP Augment also Pierces every time we do a Sniped Shot, correct?

I'm pretty certain it was the implementation of EMP Gauss that did that, and not gold boxes.

That another matter. Gauss itself was the Ebola of tanki, and then they decided to give it EMP, which was like throwing the covid 19 onto that Ebola.
