Unfortune news about Flash  <<<Did that really need to be in the VLog....especially when it got fixed already?  I think this is just the smarmy Tanki way of saying to get ready to lose Flash in a couple of weeks.  They will stop supporting Flash before Flashes true demise because they don't want to mess with Flash any more.  So be it.

All I can say about it is I would expect another large block of players to quit playing Tanki....I'm gonna guess another 25% drop at least.  So the 22,000 at peak time that we have been seeing for the last week or so is gonna crash down to 16,000 or 17,000.  Then as Covid lightens up and the lockdowns start to loosen up peak numbers will still probably drop by that 25% or 30%, but it will be from Tanki's moving average of about 17,000...so I'm predicting 12,000 to 13,000 players at peak time...that's include the few new Latin players to the EN servers (there are only about 400 or 500 players left on br/es servers at peak times now).

That means it is going to get much harder to get into a battle a few hours on either side of restart and rank brackets will widen out even further for MM to keep generating battles.  All pretty bad news for Tanki players especially when it's wrapped up in an inferior HTML package.

The only hope is that Tanki institutes some of the features and fixes that this forum (probably the Russian forum too) has be complaining about over and over and over and over.  One easy fix to make HTML much better and more like Flash would be to put access to missions from within a battle...just like in Flash.   It has to be an easy bit of coding since almost everything is in place already...just add a link to missions on the pause/leave battle menu

There's a lot of simple things they can do that should be relatively simple to implement.

For instance - main page I can see my turret & hull - but not my protections.  I really dislike the cumbersome garage - so why don't they display protections on main page?  There's lots of room for something like that. And that might save me a trip to garage before entering a battle.

i need the date and patch note

The change likely occured in Patch Note #595 but it is not available for use to see.

The date at which the change was announced to be implemented in the future was February 28th, so the change occured after that date. They said it was "on their to-do list" so it is likely that it wasn't implemented immediately as they announced it.

I think it was a good idea to put this in the V-log. It is better for Tanki to safeguard themselves and publicly announce that there is an issue with Flash saving certain data, rather than them not announce it and then receive complaints about people losing mission progress. Now, if there are any complaints, Tanki can comfortably say that players were warned about this. Realistically there is no point Tanki putting time and resources into something that will be discontinued, so it's kind of fair enough if they want to stop Flash earlier. I personally, at the moment, prefer Flash by far, but at the same time it is inevitable that Flash will stop, so we may as well accept the fact that HTML5 is the way forward. Having said this, I will still continue to play on Flash until there are certain changes to HTML5 or Flash stops altogether.

These figures seem pretty unlikely to me. There may be a reduction in players when Flash stops but certainly not this drastic.

The developers are certainly taking into consideration what sort of things players want to see in HTML5, there's no doubt about that. However, as they need to continue supporting Flash for the time being, this means they cannot focus all their work on HTML5. If you have suggestions which would improve the HTML5 version of the game, please feel free to suggest them here.

I personally think that it is unfair for the Ares hull not being able to equip Magnum. Please do something about that so that players can equip Magnum on Ares and be able to shoot and drive Ares without any problems.

I always wanted to use Magnum as a main turret, but the difficulty in adjusting to the fixed turret and projectile dynamics, coupled with a 5 second reload, always made me switch to other turrets. Interchanging RGC with Stock would be a good move to make it more functional at lower modifications.

I wonder how Ares would be able to go up and down ramps that have projecting side walls such as on this map.

It seems to have a rectangular area rather than a square design. Meaning that it would be able to go up/down a ramp in front of its narrower side but would struggle, like a Juggernaut does, when going up/down one sideways.

I honestly think they should release it as is. If we find issues with it we can tell them what we found and maybe how they can fix it.

IMO, the devs are coming up with very complicated solutions to solve a petty problem.

I do not think it is a bad option to make players able to use Magnum with Ares. It will definitely not be very useful, but I mean who cares, if somebody wants to try it out for whatever reason I don't care.

That's what I said/I agree.

I would like to see in the next V-Log 250 how the alterations for hulls looks like and how they work and affect each of the hulls. That is very interesting so please show us the hull alterations in the next episode of the V-Log. I would like to learn more about them.

For the Ares hull, I also want to get more news about it and news of when the new HTML5 version of Tanki Online is finished and polished. Please tell us all this information in V-Log 250.
